A white wash report. Misuse of public money. Shower of incompetents in SNP government. Rotten education. Using covid as a political tool.
I could weep for my country.
Yet people like James O'Brien continue to arse lick Nicola

It's not the number of votes, it's the number of MPs.

If I were Boris Johnston, I'd be letting NS get on with it, and get Scotland gone asap. The English will be better off too when the Barnett formula no longer applies to Scotland.

Yet he isn't. In fact quite the opposite.

Seems strange to me if we are such a drain.
@UnderHisAye yes very obtuse!

I think maybe @Wondermule should send their telly, phone and fridge back up the road if we're going to start to get nationalistically possessive over inventions 🤣
🤣🤣🤣

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 23/03/2021 22:41

I would like independence because of the ability to vote, with a chance of being heard, for things that really matter to me. Those include funding public services to the best of our ability, rather than squandering billions on bloody nuclear penises, building a welcoming environment because we need immigration, and investing in local infrastructure.

That said, I will be reading the economic analyses carefully to see whether now is the time for independence. I’m not convinced that the middle of a pandemic is the best time to add in more upheaval.

@UnderHisAye

I honestly can and will not bow to this notion of 'if she broke the ministerial code she will be expected to resign' because she forgot about a bloody meeting or something.

Johnson is probably guilty of the manslaughter of thousands; it's never even discussed in the media at all. He'll never pay for his arrogance and indecisiveness or his cold-blooded 'just let all the old people die and we'll crack on without them' attitude.

And we're supposed to vilify a woman who may have spoken to someone on this date but not that date?

Do me a fucking favour.

Wondermule
May I also point out it was England that developed the AstraZeneca that Scotland is currently benefitting from very nicely 👌🏻

Quick to take that benefit, weren’t you? Why didn’t you patriotically wait for one of your universities to develop a vaccine, and support your own? Given England is so awful?

Gawd - well it was a Scottish physicist who developed the hypodermic syringe. Quick to use that device to get your jag 😜😜

MinnieMous3 · 24/03/2021 00:06

He'll never pay for his arrogance and indecisiveness or his cold-blooded 'just let all the old people die and we'll crack on without them' attitude.

But the old people are his main voting base. Why would he let them die?

And the death rate is higher in Scotland than England. Should Sturgeon be done for manslaughter as well?

MinnieMous3 · 24/03/2021 00:10

Not at all, you had the referendum under the Tories. Not the actions of a party desperate to cling on to Scotland. You were the ones who voted to stay.

StoneofDestiny · 24/03/2021 00:18

Pathetic to say Sturgeon is to blame for bringing division to Scotland by wanting independence for the Scottish Nation - yet no blame on the Tories and Johnson for dividing the whole islands of the UK over Brexit.

Scotland is going to be Independent again at some point - just deal with it.

Scotland won't fall for the lies again.

The north of Ireland and Wales as well - they are also likely to reconsider their positions since seeing how blatantly Westminster betrayed them too.
Brexit was Englands vote for independence.

Just seems weird accusing Westminster of hanging on to Scotland when they gave you a get out free card, and you voted to stay! Makes no sense whatsoever

gottenhaitch · 24/03/2021 01:24

"I think England will be sat back with the popcorn"

Are people in England really that interested? Wow. I don't think I could find it in me to give a shit personally if I were English.

RickiTarr · 24/03/2021 01:30

The thing about JO’B is I often agree with his views but not with his workings out, as it were.

I think Left/Right really is becoming less significance and Fact/Dogma is becoming just as much of a split.

Back to the point, though, I’m well left of centre and I can see Sturgeon is dodgy as hell. Don’t underestimate how many of the populace think differently to the extremes of politicians and media personalities.

PrelovedWithValue · 24/03/2021 01:33

You are half correct.

Yes and the mood in Wales has changed since the Cambridge Analytica scandal was exposed!

Sorry Wales doesn’t get off the hook for Brexit at all. People have long memories (and the internet) so it’s pointless turning Brexit into an England only thing. Many areas of England such as London, Liverpool, Manchester and Bristol voted against Brexit as they, as net contributors knew we needed frictionless trade and money even if they didn’t like the EU as an institution. Wales, a net recipient, decided sovereignty was more important and so the majority voted Brexit.

NI voted to remain as did Scotland.

I do find it amusing when you read threads on Scottish independence and people from various Brexity areas say things such as ‘and wouldn’t it be great if we could leave with Scotland too and get away from horrid London who are ruining our lives’ when the people of London voted similarly to Scotland and are more aligned with them than the people of Sunderland, Wales, The Midlands, and Cornwall etc.

Anyway I love Scotland and can understand why they want to become independent. They have more of a reason to leave the U.K. than the U.K. had to leave the EU.

Further research has shown that the areas of wales that voted leave were down to English retirees

JackieWeaverHandforthCouncil · 24/03/2021 07:35

According to Wales Online, the highest Brexit voting area was one of its poorest. I’d be surprised if many English retirees decided to move there.

While being interesting are you somehow hoping that invalidates the findings of the research?

MinnieMous3 · 24/03/2021 08:12

This is turning a bit ‘What have the Romans ever done for us’ isn’t it...
