Philadelphia on Dark choc digestive, apparently tastes like cheesecake.

Nope - tastes like Philadelphia on a dark chocolate digestive! Disappointing

Ducks in a row - I would have otherwise left on an impulsive whim and completely screwed my self over. A lot of valuable wisdom on this site!

dementedma · 22/08/2021 22:26

Reastie's Christmas threads. Have saved a small fortune

Freeze chilies whole and just grate from frozen!

Face serums.

Just today, I bought some Burford Brown eggs on the back of a thread a few weeks ago. I also tried to get a Co-op posh range spinach and ricotta pizza, but they didn't have them.

Bought a brilliant Didriksons coat last winter to keep me dry for dog walking in the rain. Added advantage of having so many pockets that I can carry an OS map, water bottle, keys, phone and dog snacks and don't need to carry a bag.

Also the organised mum method, as in, I can see how it works, but not fully implemented yet. Am trying to get going with the organised time technique.

Read Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes and didn't like it at all. I thought Rachel was thoroughly unlikeable and a bit thick, and I'm not sure that was the point of the book.

BarbaraofSeville · 22/08/2021 22:27

Oh, forgot slicing lemons and limes and putting them in the freezer ready to go into gin. So much better than what I used to do which was to buy a bag of lemons, use a couple of slices of one, and let the rest go all mushy in the fridge.

The Ordinary - it's shit Angry

Yesitsbess · 22/08/2021 22:33

Changing my work from PA to virtual PA who does all of the time consuming stuff (dealing with utility companies, organising gifts and holidays etc) remotely, and writing for money!

Also: steam mop.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 22/08/2021 22:37

@AdaFuckingShelby

HollowTalk Bought it when it was on offer. 10 mins a day, 5 in the morning 5 at night, it's made a significant difference to my developing joweliness 😁
How much does it go on offer for usually?
Musmerian · 22/08/2021 22:40

Eufy- fantastic and worth every penny. Rubbing manky chrome bath waste with 2 p coin to clean , miraculous.

MotherOfCrocodiles · 22/08/2021 22:40

DIY blackout blind by sticking tinfoil on a window with water. Saved my bacon on a weekend away as toddlers used to full blackout for their nap!

ColaPip · 22/08/2021 22:41

Love the frozen lemon/lime slices tip - thanks for that!

ladymary86 · 22/08/2021 22:42

Painting your toe nails just before going in the shower!!
The water doesn't wash it away or affect the look and I don't need to sit about waiting for it to dry.
Game changer.

Maydaybankholiday · 22/08/2021 22:48

Leaving my husband..... Worked a treat Grin

StCharlotte · 22/08/2021 22:50

@ExConstance

Folding all the spare bed linen for each bed into one of the pillowcases, never lose any of it in the airing cupboard now and the duvet covers stay looking just ironed, when I don't actually iron them at all.
I can't bring myself to do this because I need the pillowcases still folded. I just do duvet cover, then sheet and then pillow cases.

Anyway half my wardrobe is down to MN recommendations or rabbit holes.

The tip I've picked up is cleaning plastic containers of curry or tomato type stains by putting soapy water in it, add torn up bits of kitchen paper, putting the lid on and giving it a good shake. So thank you whoever that was.

I cooked out the tomato paste with the onions in the chilli prawn thing I did tonight instead of just adding it in later

BumpyBoobs · 22/08/2021 23:04

Ah grey rock. Changed my life. The Stately Homes thread was a lifeline.

I've also tried not to be a cunt. I've had my arse handed to me on AIBU before-thanks vipers!
MN haircut too!

ThinWomansBrain · 22/08/2021 23:15

Nextrend garlic twister. Can't remember who recommended it, but it's great so thanks.
I got one of these, it was rubbish well, I got a cheap version from eBay, maybe that's why.

Winter themed duvet - good, except I got brushed cotton and it leaves fluff on the weighted blanket.

chipfork · 22/08/2021 23:23

Four years ago I tried 'Futurelearn' as recommended by a mumsnetter. I (fairly randomly) chose a recreational maths course. Now I am halfway through a degree in Maths 🙂

ThinWomansBrain · 22/08/2021 23:23

zombie thread - not that it really matters, still entertaining.
I read through earlier post and thought "I did that" - then realised it was my own post with an earlier user name Confused

Wineandroses3 · 22/08/2021 23:24

Sorry I meant Scoville pans that you can get from asda

name4change · 22/08/2021 23:29
