Philadelphia on Dark choc digestive, apparently tastes like cheesecake.

Nope - tastes like Philadelphia on a dark chocolate digestive! Disappointing

OP posts:

Zoflora - love it, makes a change from whifffy dog.
Lakeland heated airer - great for ski trips in flat with no dryer.
Instant Pot - fantastic.
Matched betting - made a few hundred but couldn't be arsed tbh.
Pom bears - soooo disappointed, they are shit
iPhone hack for moving the curser - brilliant.
Feminist Chat, Glinner, Erasure of Women - eyes widely opened.

QuidditchQueen · 22/03/2021 06:43

Love this thread! Just ordered a heated dryer.

RonObvious · 22/03/2021 06:48

The Ordinary skincare and a Shark vacuum. Love them both.

iPhone hack for moving the curser - brilliant.

Please do tell! The cursor has been really unruly the last few software updates.

Notcrackersyet · 22/03/2021 07:40

Grey rock - satisfyingly sucks the oxygen out of narcs

coodawoodashooda · 22/03/2021 07:53

Pp if you could afford a shark steam mop, it's amazing. The floor isn't even wet afterwards.

Cowbells · 22/03/2021 07:59

So interesting to see the different reactions.

I love Zoflora and am asthmatic so often cough at cleaning products but not this one. Lavender or linen Zoflora, massively diluted in a spray bottle for mopping floors and wiping surfaces but best of all a capful in every wash kills teen boy sports sweat, old-boy cat drool, and leaves towels and bedlinen really fresh but not at all overpowering.

Also found Grey Rock life-changing for dealing with increasingly bullying mad relative.

For anyone asking about removing skin tags from home-

I had one of my neck for so long! Then I decided to tie a piece of cotton around it, tightly! (Might feel slightly uncomfortable at first but bear with it) cut the long ends off, leave it for however long and one morning you'll wake up and viola! It will be gone! I couldn't believe it but it works! I chose white cotton and you could barley see it against my skin 👍🏻 I think mine took around 3 days.

Mycatismadeofstringcheese · 22/03/2021 08:24

I love Korean green mitts. You do have to have a good soak, then rub in little circles.

Also my dehumidifier for drying laundry.

frumpety · 22/03/2021 09:08

Turkish hammam cotton towels - don't hold onto the sand, dry really quickly and don't take up much space. Love them.

PolloDePrimavera · 22/03/2021 11:07

@Graphista

All amazing but £££... Mumsnet is expensive for me!! Grin same

Next clothes - not expensive per item per se indeed I was pleasantly surprised by the prices, but the clothes are so lovely and their delivery options so perfect for me that this has resulted in my spending a small fortune over the last year. I don't order often but when I do I go a bit nuts - I'm now out of drawer space!

My phone contract is up later this year, I generally don't upgrade until it'll no longer update but this phone (iPhone 7) is driving me nuts in various ways one of which is its dimensions (I'm a short arse and have small hands) and on a thread recently the iPhone 12 mini was mentioned which is apparently same size as iPhone 5 was? Which I'm very tempted by, however there's also the new SE might go for that instead. I depend on my phone as I'm housebound, disabled and live alone so actually having a spare not necessarily a bad idea anyway.

So thanks to MN I am now a person that makes soup

I think that's great. I was raised on soup practically so I do find it a little odd when people think it's this mystical, difficult thing. It's the easiest thing to make and very rarely goes so badly wrong it can't be rescued, it's cheap, healthy and filling snd is a great way of using up leftovers and sad veggies

Also it's bloody delicious exactly!

I've cut my own hair for years, the mn haircut sounds like the unicorn technique? Which is what I use there are other techniques of this one doesn't work for you, my dd uses a plaiting technique tons of videos on YouTube especially now.

Many pieces of advice on Christmas gift threads, not specific gifts but cash back and other offers made it cheaper for me.

I'm sure there's more I just can't think of them right now

On a more "spiritual" level I've made good friends on mn that I chat with off board.

Mn is always here, even in the wee hours and when I've suffered badly from depression, anxiety and insomnia it's been a great distraction and I've had amazing support and advice.

I love mn

I have the new SE and I got it as I also have quite small hands and I find the larger ones too cumbersome and I kept dropping them, cue broken screens... I love it.
Timeforanewname2014 · 22/03/2021 12:46

A thread last week enlightened me to putting our king size duvet on a different way round.... the long size going across width way rather than long way iyswim? Game. Changer. (I always assumed where the buttons are should go at the bottom of the bed they are now at the side

I might try this. Do you cut strips from an old t shirt? Ho
LadyAddle · 22/03/2021 13:30

Gu chocolate & salted caramel spread - I blame my extra poundage entirely on MN.

Purplecatshopaholic · 22/03/2021 13:30

Urban decay eye pencils in Stash and Smog - perfect for my auburn hair, pale skin, hazel eyes combo.
Oh, I also tried the Becca eye brightening cream as a result of MN and it wasn’t such a success. I guess you win some and lose some, lol.

MrsBDarcy · 22/03/2021 14:24

Really contemplating cotton reusable pads now
I bought a lot of The Ordinary. Only liked the caffeine eye stuff tbh

Graphista · 22/03/2021 15:42

@PolloDePrimavera excellent thanks for the review! Contract up end of the year will defo look at the SE I loved my old SE until planned obsolescence killed it!

DadOnIce · 22/03/2021 15:46

@SoddingWeddings

Shitter tea 😁 www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/ideal-health-slimatee-60092685

Best thing ever for toilet troubles.

Which way round is it for?
PolloDePrimavera · 22/03/2021 16:00

Graphista yes, I wanted an SE when my last one got too old and tired but they stopped making them. I'd like to think someone at Apple HQ was listening to me, you're welcome ;-).

Juno231 · 22/03/2021 16:01

@DadOnIce if you're constipated.

ExConstance · 22/03/2021 16:15

Folding all the spare bed linen for each bed into one of the pillowcases, never lose any of it in the airing cupboard now and the duvet covers stay looking just ironed, when I don't actually iron them at all.

TheFormidableMrsC · 22/03/2021 16:24

@missbridgerton

Charlotte Tilbury make up. Spend £200 on a full set after reading glowing recommendations. Whole lot went in the bin within weeks, my DDs wouldn't touch it either. It's the worst crap imaginable in high end packaging. I'm still angry about it years on.

Realised I'd been well and truly had by a bot on here. Never again.

Should have sold it on eBay! Even used stuff goes for not far off the rrp.
TimeForTeaRex · 22/03/2021 16:26

I like Zoflora! You just gotta pick your smell carefully.

I am so pissed off with myself that I read this years ago and yet constantly forget to do it and scrabble for crumpled bedlinen and matching pillowcases every single time I change the bed. Why can't I learn this simple, brilliant hack?
maddiemookins16mum · 22/03/2021 16:39

Three ingredient brownies. It’s how I found MN.
