To think that all men watch porn even when in a sexually gratifying relationship ?

Possibly done to death but do they or at least the majority and if so are you ok with it ?
No real back story but have reason to believe that my bf does now and again ... mainly through presumption of women he follows on Facebook ... first six pictures etc.
I know he also games with many men and women throughout the world through that platform so he has many' friends' from that..
He doesn't like or comment on the women's posts but they show up now and again on the six profile pics of his friends on Facebook .
Am I being a prude/ presumptuous / overthinking .

And unless people never leave each other’s side there’s always an opportunity!

BackforGood · 19/03/2021 15:13

It’s about trust and knowing your spouse.
It’s about free access to all their IT, if you so desire.
It’s about understanding their choices and values.
It’s about firewalls and workplace policies.
It’s about what they are doing when you are apart.
It’s about being in a relationship where the man isn’t entirely controlled by his penis and is capable of allowing his brain to dominate his actions.
It’s about understanding how he sees women.

Excellent post LemonRoses

Sex is a part of life, I suspect that lots of men and women watch porn.

Helmetbymidnight · 19/03/2021 16:09

Sex is a part of life,

has anyone on here or in RL, said it isnt?

the porn lovers on these threads are never very bright.

activitythree · 19/03/2021 16:13

the porn lovers on these threads are never very bright.

Funny you should say that. My first post on this thread 2 days ago made the connection with intelligence. I do sometimes wonder if there is a link. Otherwise why? Just why would any woman defend/support/deny?

I don't get it. And I do now think we have worked out at least one potential reason, because despite quite literally hundreds of posts containing good information about the 'bad' side to porn, still the same people come back and counter argue that they are correct Confused

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 19/03/2021 16:15

I very much doubt that all men watch porn. But I am even more certain that of those who do, the vast majority of their wives think that they don't.

Helmetbymidnight · 19/03/2021 16:19

Yeah it would be hard to prove, but definitely - many posters here struggle with quite basic stuff:

separating porn, masturbation and sex (see PP's bizarre statement)

'watch regularly' and 'have watched' .

the idea that some people are different to them and their DH.

They do genuinely find this problematic - and it does suggest an empathy problem - I wonder if people with poor empathy might be attracted to heavy porn use - or it might be that watching a lot of porn decreases empathy...

BackforGood · 19/03/2021 17:00

Interesting idea Helmetbymidnight - makes a lot of sense.

It's a bit of a sad world where men go into the toilet to stare at their phones and wank. Is this really the world we live in?

That's just polite. I imagine most wives would take issue with their husbands going at themselves in the living room midway through an episode of Gogglebox.

Can they not wait till they actually have sex with a person?

Sex or wanking to simulated sex on the internet? There is a HUGE difference.
catscatscatseverywhere · 19/03/2021 18:06

I think my partner doesn't or at least I'm not aware of it. Of course he watched porn when he was a teenager or when he was a young male, in his early twenties. Did he watch it when we were distance relationship? Probably yes. Did he watch it when I was recovering from the surgery for a month at my parents house? I guess so. If guy does it rarely or a bit, as someone said, it's OK, but it can be a serious addiction ruining the families, so I don't think it's fine to say "meh, it's just porn, everyone watches it" and oversee the problem.

OhWhyNot · 19/03/2021 18:09

Sometime people don’t want to have sex

They just want to masturbate, realise some tension, go off in to their fantasy world without having to take care of someone else or not feel guilty while thinking of the next door neighbour going down on them

I know its common on mn for people in sexually satisfying relationships to not feel the need to or want to masturbate I’m not so sure if it’s so common outside of mn

GoLightlyontheEarth · 19/03/2021 18:13

Maybe that’s why there are so many many threads on MN about men who arent interested in a mutually sexually satisfying relationship with an actual person.

Being amused by a joke about wanking during Gogglebox means you lack intelligence and empathy........

OK then! Grin

GoLightlyontheEarth · 19/03/2021 18:19

Before the internet what did men do do you think? Did they slope off to the loo to wank several times a day because they just had to? I doubt it.

OhWhyNot · 19/03/2021 18:26

Who said the are all nipping to the loo to wank several times a day

But yes of course many would have at some point. They would have used their imagination, magazines before that was postcards, erotic literature
