Aibu to wonder how you are all spending your weekends in lockdown currently?

OP posts:
LongIslandIcedT · 13/03/2021 20:12

Get up whenever, anytime between 9 and 1pm. 2 cups of strong coffee, lazy brunch, gallons of tea. Some box sets or a movie or two or chill out Spotify playlist in the sun.
Dinner is a homemade takeaway these days, so I'll make a curry, fish and chips or some Chinese or a pizza

@LaurieFairyCake

Working (therapist) - huge demand, people's mental health has taken a massive battering
@LaurieFairyCake thanks for all your hard work. Hope you are still managing to look after yourself in amongst the chaos.
oohmyback · 13/03/2021 20:14

I agreed to repaint my daughters room even though I only did a complete makeover on it last year just for something to do. So hard what I've been doing!

I also have lots of marking to do and my oldest daughter is doing walking for her duke if Edinburgh so I will probably do 6 miles with her tomorrow!

waitingpatientlyforspring · 13/03/2021 20:15

Not much difference. House work, cooking, eating, drinking, watching films. Broken up with virtual games nights instead of mights out.

thefirstmrsrochester · 13/03/2021 20:17

Same shit. Get up, drop any working dc at their part time jobs, housework, internet, walk, collect dc from aforementioned jobs, cook dinner, wine, shite tv, then bed to do it all over again the next day.

Taswama · 13/03/2021 20:23

Saturday - run with dc (one or both). DP goes for long run alone. Dc2 drama on zoom. Maybe baking with one dc in afternoon, otherwise they go and read / play in their rooms and I bake or read. DP does DIY / gardening.

Sunday - long run or bike ride for me in morning. Family walk after lunch.

Kids did activities out of the house on Saturdays pre-lockdown but Sundays were similar.

Today: swim in the sea, walk with brother and kids, cook dinner, chores, chat to friend on phone for an hour

Tomorrow: walk the dog, read papers, cook dinner for mother, watch rugby ....

RuggeryBuggery · 13/03/2021 20:26

Im loving them actually
Just pottering doing house jobs - regular ongoing ones plus bigger things I’ve been meaning to do like sort out a cupboard.
Things like listing stuff on eBay to sell
Making photos books I’ve been meaning to do
Going for a walk
Gardening
Tv
Mumsnet
Cooking stuff that takes a bit longer
Baking

Lovely!
Today was taking off and washing all the garden cushions covers

Shopliftersoftheworldunite · 13/03/2021 20:27

Groundhog Day here.
Saturday: lazy morning with coffee until about ten. Shower and then eat brunch (I’m on a low carb diet so don’t even have the joy of food). Then usually a long walk (7ish miles). Home to stare at a screen and flick through pointless shit on the internet because I can’t concentrate on reading at the moment.

Sunday: cleaning while my partner does the food shop for the week. Then a shorter walk than the day before. Quiet existential despair at how bored I am and how much I miss my pre-covid life. Then feel guilty because I have it so much better than so many others.

SplendidSuns1000 · 13/03/2021 20:32

Saturday we have pastries and coffee for breakfast, slow morning watching films or snuggling on the sofa. Saturday afternoon we get out in the garden together or go for a very long walk with flasks and biscuits. We cook together in the evening and play puzzles while watching a film.

Sunday we get up early and take a hot breakfast to eat on our walk, come home and watch more films or do hobbies, I do yoga while DH mocks me, we order pizza and eat it in bed like heathens.

There's also a lot of shagging just to pass the time

Saturday: swim in the river, take dogs on walk into town, collect coffee and brownies, lunch, go for another walk, do housework, takeaway
Sunday: lie in for me, food shop, lunch, dog walk/run, long bath

TBH, its not so very different to normal times, we'd just normally eat lunch out on a Saturday and would go somewhere more interesting to walk

Confusedandshaken · 13/03/2021 20:32

Much the same as weekdays. Housework, maybe some yoga, spend a couple of hours drawing. Listen to a lot of novels on audible. Read an online newspaper., play sudoku on my iPad, cook dinner, read or watch tv, bed. On weekend evenings i have wine instead of herb tea.

Saturdays I change the sheets. Sunday I might zoom friends or adult dc in the afternoons.

I’m an introvert and love my own company so in the past this would have been a perfect day but a year of it is starting to pall.

applecatchers36 · 13/03/2021 20:34

Very monochrome and repetitive.
Childcare, washing, cleaning, tidying up, park or walk in woods, maybe some work, Netflix, Mumsnet, online news,, wine and takeaway
Really looking forward to some more technicolour weekends soon ...

peboh · 13/03/2021 20:36

Eating. That's about it.

Brokenrecord3006 · 13/03/2021 21:14

Walks with my toddler and I usually start drinking mid-afternoon.

Breastfeedingworries · 13/03/2021 21:17

Currently waiting for lads to turn up at a friends bringing cocaine cocks and booze GrinGrinWink

anamazingfind · 13/03/2021 21:18

Descend into the pits of despair and dream of summer

Gobbeldegook · 13/03/2021 21:19

Same as always. Currently waiting on Sen child to nod off so I can relieve some of my exhaustion. I'll probably sleep around 3am and be up at 8. I was ready for sleep at 7pm tonight.

Mother's Day can fuck off.

GeorgeandHarold66 · 13/03/2021 21:21

We try to have a "treat" day on Saturday, visit to a park, woodland, national trust place or grandparents then a take away and film in the evening.
Sunday is homework and ds sees his dad for a few hours.
It's alright, we make the best of it but it gets boring.

lljkk · 13/03/2021 21:30

I'm guessing the wild swimmers have amazing wetsuits including full booties & gloves.

Lovemusic33 · 13/03/2021 21:30

Today mainly housework (lots of washing), planted some seeds with dd, cleaned out pets and put away the food shop which was delivered. I’m bored shitless tbh 🤣.

I no longer look forward to weekends because there no joy in them really but hey, the end is in sight, we will soon be able to travel a further, and shops and other places will be open.

ilovemydogandmrobama2 · 13/03/2021 21:31

Love going to the tip.

Last week was a 2 hour queue.

Brought my Kindle and read books.

Where else can I read undisturbed? Smile

CMOTDibbler · 13/03/2021 21:42

@lljkk I'm wearing a thin wetsuit which has some non neoprene panels, but am wearing neoprene socks and gloves. My swim buddy is just wearing a costume, gloves and socks though
