Aibu to wonder how you are all spending your weekends in lockdown currently?

OP posts:
Idontbelieveit12 · 13/03/2021 18:32

I really struggle at weekends. Hubby lets me have a long lie in on Saturday mornings. If it wasn’t for the kids I’d stay in bed all weekend 🙈

AutumnVibes · 13/03/2021 18:33

Mainly row with my husband about who is having the 2 year old and feeling bitter that I can’t have any space from them or rest. Bored off my tits.

thismeansnothing · 13/03/2021 18:33

Saturday :- DD has dance classes over zoom. DH looks after toddler while I go for a run. DH does a food shop solo to tide us over till midweek. Kids play while I do laundry/jobs round the house. I go bed at 6 (should be there now) cos i start work at midnight.

Sunday :- get home at 8am, walk the dog, DH does a brunch for us then if the weather's good we go to a park for an hour or so. Or walk into town and get a takeaway brew just for something to do. DD1 will watch a film in the afternoon while toddler Naps.

And that's pretty much it.

beyondtheshoe · 13/03/2021 18:34

5k run in the morning, kids go on a bike ride with their dad.

Afternoon taking them out for 2 or 3 hours within 1 hour drive.

Same on Sundays unless they meet friends in a park. They are sitted in class all day during the week, I have no issue letting them play football outside!

Ragwort · 13/03/2021 18:35

I was so fed up with my DH's company today Blush , he works from home, I am furloughed... I am sure we are both totally sick of the sight of each other ... I drove to a nearby town, did some shopping and then sat in the car for a couple of hours with a takeaway coffee and a sandwich ... I just needed a break that wasn't yet another walk ....

UntamedWisteria · 13/03/2021 18:35

Lie in, read paper in bed.
Long walk with DH.
Tidy house.
Work in garden if weather is OK.
Cook something nice that wouldn't have time for during the week.
Do some decluttering.
Give stuff away on Facebook.
Wine.
Netflix.

FrankButchersDickieBow · 13/03/2021 18:35

Save my saturdays to 'do stuff' in the kitchen.

I absolutely love listening to Rylan on radio 2, 3 -6pm, then Liza Tarbuck, 6PM-8pm.

I actually tackled the tupperware cupboard today so I could listen to my faves, drinking Elvis Juice and prepping tea.

TheOneWithTheBigNose · 13/03/2021 18:35

Get up at 5am with the toddler, like every day. Entertain said toddler (plus a 7 and 5 year old) without anywhere to go except bastard walks, like every day.

FlamingGoat · 13/03/2021 18:35

Work, Clean, Cook, Bed and repeat 😶

LouLou789 · 13/03/2021 18:36

We’ve just moved house,

Today: awake half the night after high winds, two power cuts and loads of alarms going off. Watch a DVD of Upstairs Downstairs while DH sleeps. Accompany DH on drive to B and Q. He gets some matchpots while I have a walk. Cup of tea. Carpet samples arrive. Phone elderly lady we look after, as we do every day. Add items to Tesco app for lady. Lunch. Install new bathroom blind. Phone carpet shop 300 times to confirm order (can’t get through first 299 times) Both payment cards declined, arrange to drop cheque through letterbox tomorrow, phone bank to check all is well (yes), get email saying curtains are on back order so camel them and trawl through Dunelm website and choose others. Study matchpots. Make beef stew for tea. Speak to neighbour re burglar alarm debacle. Shower and hairwash. Now awaiting You Tube quiz and Merlot.

m0therofdragons · 13/03/2021 18:37

Housework, walk dog with family, run with a friend, bath, dinner... every Saturday. Nice weather? Jobs in the garden. We just washed the muddy dog and that was horrific - he’s not a fan and knocked the shower out of my hand so we all got soaked... that was entertaining though Grin

1Morewineplease · 13/03/2021 18:37

Wake up
Shower
Get dressed
Sofa on which to watch old classic tv
Many cups of tea
Walk the dog
Cut back an old straggly shrub
Back to sofa
Wait for DD to cook a fantastic recipe
Eat
Wine
More telly

Walk, tidy, schoolwork, meals. Contact a friend, internet, sleep.

MrsTophamHat · 13/03/2021 18:39

Up with kids.
Sit with kids while they play.
Break monotony up with food.
Go for a walk.
Cook tea.
Bedtime routine.
Do work (teacher) and drink wine.
Bed.

Repeat.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 13/03/2021 18:39

Today we’ve just done baking and played PlayStation. Could have gone out for a walk or the park but didn’t fancy it. Was in a nice way though.

Don’t actually feel that fed up!

On sundays we have exercises on the front garden / drive with our neighbours - everyone on their own property.

We have been going for lots of walks and stuff, and a couple of times have seen our bubble (I’m a single parent) but actually not that often. With school back I find the kids want to chill anyway.

MixedUpFiles · 13/03/2021 18:40

Housework and hobbies same as before the lockdown, but have a bit more hobby time since no longer have to attend kids parties and such.

UntilYourNextHairBrainedScheme · 13/03/2021 18:41

Working every other weekend. Work is busier at weekends (support work).

Pinotwoman82 · 13/03/2021 18:42

A PP said 90 day fiancé, this! We are hooked, been watching it since end of January.

Handsnotwands · 13/03/2021 18:42

I stay in bed until midday and then I drink wine

SpeakingFranglais · 13/03/2021 18:43

You know, we’ve been in lockdown that fucking long it is like normal to me now. Just endless nothing.

I can honestly say I found the first lockdown, in nicer weather, the worst. This last one feels like we have been locked down since September. I’m not even sure now when we stopped being able to socialise. However the winter, and poor weather has made it more tolerable for me.

Minniem2020 · 13/03/2021 18:44

This weekend I'm working (travel industry). If I'm off then it's cleaning, shopping, going for walks. I want the zoos and swimming pool to open so we can do more with ds3

JaceLancs · 13/03/2021 18:44

Takeaway coffee, walk and DIY or gardening on Saturday
Sunday cleaning, food shop for us, elderly DM and elderly NDN - deliver same
I try and cook nicer than usual food and if time fit in long bath or manicure etc just to feel like there is some pleasure
I am flat as a pancake and have been for some time

gonerogue · 13/03/2021 18:45

I'm a relationship counsellor - it's very busy so am working weekends to try and keep up with demand.
Other than that - walks, TV, groundhog day.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 13/03/2021 18:45

@Pinotwoman82 same, it’s kept me amused for months!

I keep quoting Larissa at my husband Grin
