Aibu to wonder how you are all spending your weekends in lockdown currently?

I have a 2yo, so...
Get up when he does. Breakfast as a family. Play. I shower while LO has a bath. I get us dressed and then I take him out for 2ish hours (usually walk to/around food shops then to playground) while husband cooks lunch. Walk back, eat lunch. LO naps for 2ish hours. Husband takes him out at 3 for 2ish hours again (long walk outside plus playground again or if it’s raining he takes him to the office for shelter/to play with the photocopier 😂) and then brings him back. We all have tea/a snack. More indoor play (plus household stuff - laundry, ironing, cleaning etc) and a bit of TV before dinner. Dinner. LO has bottle and bedtime. Husband and I then get our evening...30-60 minutes of TV then a board game or reading.

Can’t wait for swimming pool and library to reopen as taking LO out is getting very repetitive.

Baking and a full roast and trimmings on Sunday evening. And cleaning if I can force myself. Working on zoom on Sunday mornings. Have stopped trying to motivate the teenagers to do anything.

FredtheCatsMum · 14/03/2021 18:00

Go for a walk. Get takeaways. do some cleaning. Read a book. Practice piano. Eat too much, watch too much netflix, bored.

ToffeePennie · 14/03/2021 18:04

Wake up at 6 because a toddler has decided to use my head to explore how much poo can his nappy hold.
Get up and get some sort of clothes on, go downstairs where the kids have eaten all their “weekends only” cereal in one go, flooded the kitchen with milk and discover we are out of toilet roll again.
Send husband to shops.
Cool lunch, do all admin and accounting for work. Prepare clothes for work.
Prep everything for next week.
Clean guinea pigs and at some point I go to bed.
Rinse and repeat for every weekend since lockdown began.

Mummadeze · 14/03/2021 18:16

I go for a run, go to the supermarket, catch up on Gogglebox, watch The Voice, various quiz shows. And write my book which is now at 55,500 words so not far off three quarters of the way through. Am so proud that I have created something from nothing but my memories, even if it never comes to anything. I also help my DD with her homework which is a much dreaded chore!

RhinestoneCowgirl · 14/03/2021 18:20

This weekend I've done a lot of reading, all the laundry, played Scrabble, also moved the compost bin to a new location, had a long bath and ate maltesers.

prawntail · 14/03/2021 18:21

Walk/paint by numbers/walk/takeaway/drink/repeat.

goodjoujou · 14/03/2021 18:21

Every Sunday is a walk along the canal and thru town stopping to pick up some mini wines and crisps, go to the park for a chilly bench top picnic (we even went when it was actively snowing) and to feed the squirrels who actually seem to know us on sight now and greet us with great excitement. Then walk home past the old people’s home and wave at the lovely Grannies 😆

LovelyIssues · 14/03/2021 18:32

Long walks with dog, bike rides, films, crafts, housework, takeaways or making more effort with cooking... Weirdly enjoying it but think we're probably in the minority.

Ddot · 14/03/2021 18:35

Work, 4 walls, work, 4 walls 🤪

Flatoutonsofa · 14/03/2021 18:59

Get up, breakfast, tidy kitchen. Think about exercise. Wonder when I'll feel motivated enough to paint the kitchen. Potter about watering plants, Think about dinner, fall asleep, make dinner, drink wine.
It's like groundhog day.

Bertiebiscuit · 14/03/2021 19:00

"what's a weekend" to quote a certain laydee on TV

midnightstar66 · 14/03/2021 19:08

Take my girls riding - travel outside LA area is allowed for animal care! By the time they’ve mucked out, groomed, ridden plus travel between home and yard that’s a good chunk of the day, stop at shops on way home - today I had to go to Aldi, Asda and M&S, then park/dog walk, home and cook. We’ve just eaten now and everyone needs showers so that’s the day done. Not very exciting but we’ve not stopped and had plenty fresh air.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 14/03/2021 19:13

Working next week so faffing and cooking just now

Trinacham · 14/03/2021 19:25

Every other weekend I work so on my weekends off I'm busy with housework and trying to relax while I can!

moimichme · 14/03/2021 19:30

Park this morning despite the rainy and windy weather (after breakfast in bed shared with 4 year old ds!) and then a shower to warm up. Cleaning, dry clothes put away/aside for charity donation tomorrow, sorted and reorganised pantry, and now sipping red wine and supervising ds while waiting for homemade Thai curry, courtesy of lovely DH. Quite productive for us really - we often do a bit more relaxing!

minniemoocher · 14/03/2021 19:36

Walk around the area, fortunately the beach and a beautiful nature reserve are within 10 mins walk. Then queue up with the rest of the town at one of the 4 coffee outlets - of course choosing the one with the shortest queue which is never costa (there approx 50 people queuing socially distanced of course yesterday, around 1/4 mile!)

Barney60 · 14/03/2021 19:39

Run or bootcamp (on zoom), shop, clean, do washing, park with kids, watch endless football, walk with a friend, speak to family, read, cook, drink too much alcohol. Quite enjoy it really 😏

NotMeekNotObedient · 14/03/2021 20:24

Lie in. Sit around bored doom scrolling. Walk. Laundry. The bare minimum of cleaning.

Visit elderly father. Call elderly father.

Make dinners, lunch etc. Some weekends I bake.

Can't muster the energy for much, just so fed up now. Could be sewing or reading or book but just can't find the motivation.

Yorkshiretolondon · 14/03/2021 20:26

Housework, school work, ring family/friends, cook, eat, chill....repeat for Sunday
School on Monday

Tomasinabombadil · 14/03/2021 20:32

What’s a weekend?🤔
I retired a couple of years ago and live on my own, every day is the same..... My dog gets me up as dawn is breaking which is getting earlier each day now☹️ Let 🐕 out in garden for a wee, feed her, I have a coffee. Mid to late morning I have brunch. Early afternoon take 🐕 for a 90-120 mins walk. Mid afternoon 🐕 and I have a snooze curled up together on the sofa. Late afternoon short walk 20-30 mins with 🐕. 6:30-7pm feed 🐕. 8:30-9pm’ish I cook & eat my supper & watch something I’ve recorded on my Freeview TV. 11pm or a bit later take 🐕 for another short walk. Usually in bed by midnight and read on my Kindle for an hour. During the day when at home I listen to either BBC Radio 4 Extra or Planet Rock. I live in a semi-rural area and can go for days without seeing another person except occasionally other 🐕 walkers. I am quite content though and am looking forward to when I can visit my friends again to help on their farms and take my 🐕 with me. I was hardly ever at home during the day pre COVID.🙂
