I didn’t know places like this existed in London! So Am I being unreasonable in thinking that it would be amazing? Or is there something I’m missing?!

That's a fairly standard townhouse layout.

Cherrysoup · 08/03/2021 21:39

Always been St Reatham since we lived there! Magical, no, not when you’re sitting in the pub on the High street watching the prostitutes escorting their clients back from behind the cinema. There used to be a carpet of condoms. I think it’s probably become a lot more gentrified since I lived there.

RedMarauder · 08/03/2021 21:49

@Tal45

Uggghhh I'd never want to live in London again, 2 years was more than enough. £750,000 for that souless place and ugly little patio? Lets face it none of the rest of the grounds look like you're welcome to have a BBQ and lounge around on them, they probably have signs saying keep off the grass!
The patio looks too small to bury someone under it.

And the fencing is painted white to emphasise the smallness.

Torvean · 08/03/2021 21:53

I've seen much nice properties in Scotland. Nicer house and land.

littlepattilou · 08/03/2021 21:53

Magical? Confused

Not even slightly.

I was expecting to click on a palace in Lapland. Not an average looking overpriced terraced house, in overrated, over-populated London.

LostToucan · 08/03/2021 22:02

£750k would get you an amazing place in the arse end of nowhere with a shed load of land, but the commute to London Bridge would be a bit of a bugger.
Londonmummy66 · 08/03/2021 23:34

@LostToucan but the commute from Streatham to London Bridge is also a bit of a bugger.......

fallfallfall · 08/03/2021 23:36

really poor air ventilation with windows only on two sides. ground floor entry means mice...

user1473878824 · 08/03/2021 23:39

There are loads of places with big gardens and shared gardens, which is not my thing, in London, that aren’t as pokey! It’s a nice house but for the price I’d want something that size with private space. A little bit over that and you’d have more room and a small garden. Definitely other places I would dream of. And can prove it with my hideous Rightmove obsession. Confused

Serin · 08/03/2021 23:39

God No.

Totallydefeated · 08/03/2021 23:41

Clicking to find the ‘magical’ property was in Streatham did make me laugh.

Easy not to realise if you’re not familiar with the area though, OP!

hansgrueber · 08/03/2021 23:51

Love to see the real siae of the rooms, looking at the distorted edges a very wide angled lens was used.

Hmmm ... Southern Rail is rubbish but even so you can get into London Bridge direct in under 30 minutes.

If you live in the arse end of Scotland then you’d likely be struggling with what a train looks like. Or even a bus.

DenisetheMenace · 08/03/2021 23:59

Flattering photos of a pretty pokey house. We’re in NW, where that would buy you a 5/6 bed all en-suite detached with large gardens front and rear 🤷‍♀️

SingingSands · 09/03/2021 00:07

That's about as magical as a three day old turd.

LongTimeMammaBear · 09/03/2021 00:15

Not for me

Not a lot of parking

Dinky patio of your own

No storage

All the sinks are dinky

Dark

Too many stairs

Other than the communal gardens, nothing I like about it. Given that there is only the depressing patio, doesn’t even appear as though it has great views of the gardens. I’d pass.

Hm2020 · 09/03/2021 01:58

The 2 apartments are slightly better but streatham couldn’t think of any where worse to live in London personally!

FrankiesKnuckle · 09/03/2021 02:09

@jaundicedoutlook that would've been the colosseum, before that it was the ritzy and before that the cats whiskers - mentioned in only fools once.

I worked in St Reatham for 10 years, definitely wasn't magical (emergency services) They were just cleaning up the Garrards road then (where the Toms would ply their trade)
The gang crime and violence was through the roof. Used to get pelted with fireworks on the Albert carr estate. Magical times indeed.

FakingMemories · 09/03/2021 02:26

It looks dark and claustrophobic

1forAll74 · 09/03/2021 02:33

Just another Grey place, and not special at all. My Sister who died last year, had an almost identical house, with a large private garden,,up in Cheshire, £250.000. beside the point I know.!

It's improved a lot

When my sister bought there in the 90s, the EA expressed concern - she was young - and urged her to save more! So it's definitely better but my bit of town got worse.

I could list scarier parts of town but don't want to offend anyone!

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 09/03/2021 03:30

Apart from the garden, its horrible. I used to live nearby in Balham many years ago, and almost bought a gorgeous Victorian Terrace in Streatham for 220k, but didn't as transport links were rubbish. If that ugly flat is worth 750k I dread to think what Victorian terraces are going for now.

I also have fond memories of the Elvis impersonator, not so much the kerb crawling and prostitutes, although this was 20 years ago.

KevinBaconsMoustache · 09/03/2021 06:37

garage perfect for storage so too narrow to get your car in then eh?

picknmix1984 · 09/03/2021 06:54

I wasn't expecting that. Nope that would not be magical for me. It would be a living hell.

MrMucker · 09/03/2021 06:56

OP definitely working for selling agent! All they have posted about is the beautiful low maintenance orchid space, which has been duly derided in the responses.
And which mention of has now been completely removed from the advert.
There's a thing.
