@mainsfed

Zara Philips' facial expression - caught on camera - during the sermon at H&M's wedding was disgusting. Put me right off her, and I'd previously thought she was OK.

I agree, that mouth is someone struggling to contain a smirk. Also, Kate and Camilla side eye. So immature. Thought these people are meant to have class?

I prefer to think that the side eye was because Camilla farted a silent but deadly one. Kate knew it was her because the feathers blew upwards.

@Sprining

I am laughing at people defending an institution that codifies them as being lesser beings. Own goal or what 😃
It’s the same posters bashing away day and night defending them too? I am backing slowly away.
cyclingmad · 09/03/2021 20:04

@Donkeydonut

That means that, beyond some spurious conjecture, there’s no way to really know how much the Royal wedding will cost

From the link...

And so if you don't know you cannot say with certainty that we paid the taxpayers paid for it and then use that to bash people over the head with.

So let's agree the argument about paying back the wedding cos we paid for it is baseless until the facts are known

Well every single person watching it with us and most people ive spoken to about it since were doing exactly the same! It was a load of self indulgent drivel! On the subject of the ceremony, the queen had a face like a smacked arse all the way through it. I thought it was a bit odd at the time but now we know about the pairs tantrums it's obvious why!
Bunnyfuller · 09/03/2021 21:19

Well, those present (including M and H) clearly thought so!

Honestly, is our self-esteem as a nation so low we will tug our forelock to anyone connects to the RF?

And how fab that the ‘we’re just old neighbours getting together, no agenda, went so perfectly scripted. Sadly Oprah can perform, unless genuine shock is required. Which the ‘revelations’ would certainly elicit (were they actually genuine). I’m hoping H is throwing himself on the sword to preserve the monarchy, as this will produce nothing but support for them in the UK

Paquerette · 09/03/2021 21:24

@Bunnyfuller

That sermon was not 12 minutes!😂😂😂😂
It was 14 minutes. At least 10 minutes too long. I don't know anyone who wasn't either cringing or sniggering when trying to watch it.

@Paquerette I watched the wedding with my friend who is a huge supporter of the monarchy. It was so fun watching her squirm and try to justify all the unconventional choices 😂 at the end of the sermon she gave up!

Wondermule · 09/03/2021 21:43

I find it really hard to believe she was given no direction in how to ‘be royal’ after Diana’s complaints. If they didn’t, they must be absolutely tone deaf and a glutton for punishment.

She also said nobody told her about the usual ‘hospital steps’ photos when a baby is born. Again it’s very hard to believe - Kate gave birth to Louis a few weeks before the wedding, so I’m sure she will have seen the coverage and photos of that.

Meghan’s birth was shrouded in secrecy - there were a lot of reports of her having a home birth, then she apparently chose the American hospital (can’t remember the name of it?!), then she appeared to labour at home before being transferred to hospital for the delivery. The doctor who delivered Archie wasn’t on the birth certificate, which I found extremely odd - I believe the royals don’t ‘pay’ their medical staff as such, it’s more that it is excellent self promotion for doctors to be ‘royal’ doctors. So I don’t believe a doctor would’ve passed up the opportunity to take the credit for a royal birth. Then there was the strange mistimed announcements etc, and the awkward photo op at Windsor Castle.

Given they put out that snotty statement about ‘celebrating privately’ before the birth, it seems they took everything into their own hands, messed it up, and are now blaming the Palace because it’s evident they couldn’t run a piss up in a pub.

It was such a shame as other parts of the wedding were so lovely. I remember the choir, Prince Charles walking Meghan down the aisle, and I think that Charles also had Camilla on one arm and Doria on the other as they left the church?

I did feel a bit sorry for Camilla and Kate as they obviously got the giggles and were really struggling not to laugh.

Elsiebear90 · 09/03/2021 21:46

I am team Windsor, tbh I don’t doubt that a lot of what they said is technically true, I just felt like they were cherry picking what they told us and we weren’t getting the full story. The facts were presented in a way to look like they were singled out and treated badly (e.g. Archie not being a Prince) when that was always going to happen and wasn’t personal to them.

A lot of what they said didn’t add up either, why didn’t Harry call a doctor or therapist for Meghan when she was struggling with her mental health? They can’t refuse to allow someone to see or speak to their doctor. Why didn’t they pay for their own security out their collective personal fortune? They didn’t want Archie to be a Prince, but then they did? But this was only because he wouldn’t get security, but he actually would, they just didn’t want to pay for it themselves. Then Harry moaning he was “financially cut off by his family” despite having a personal fortune of millions that he literally got from his family, that really changed my impression of him and seemed very out of touch, greedy and entitled.

Wondermule · 09/03/2021 21:52

They can’t refuse to allow someone to see or speak to their doctor.

Let’s say the palace did have a vice like grip on Meghan’s life, why would they allow her to jet off to NY for a baby shower? How was it they managed to ‘escape’ at all?

I don’t believe the palace said that Meghan seeking help would ‘look bad’, since when has royal medical information been leaked? It would be catastrophic for the doctors concerned to be seen to be sharing confidential information. Nothing about Archie’s birth was leaked no matter how much the media tried to find out about it! They seemingly had jurisdiction over their health in choosing the Portland over the Linda Wing etc, so why not this? It just doesn’t make sense.

BrendaWindsor · 09/03/2021 21:55

I think the French had it right. And then stick their heads on spikes in The Mall

I wondered if she spoke to a midwife or dr, she said it was when she was pregnant so she must have been seeing medical professionals. You'd think they could have arranged for someone to see her when she was having hospital appointments.
SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 09/03/2021 22:02

But that wouldn’t have allowed the interviewer to look so shocked 👀 and to feature the chickens quite so prominently.

Emeraldshamrock · 09/03/2021 22:25

They didn’t want Archie to be a Prince, but then they did? She said that was untrue the decision was never theirs to make.
I believe the truth is in the middle a lot of her answers made sense too.

ginghamstarfish · 09/03/2021 22:41

As the thing about the child not being named a prince because of skin colour, that is an out and out lie. So how can anyone know what is true or not? Re someone having 'concerns' about the baby's skin colour, isn't it more likely that someone speculated aloud about what the baby would look like? Surely just like families the world over when two people with such different looks are going to have a child..? The mistake was in saying it aloud in these times when people can be easily offended.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 09/03/2021 23:35

@SheldonesqueIsUnwell

For him to mention the money being cut off (which is what mere mortals have to expect when they resign from their job) I suspect that is the main reason for the gut spilling.
My favourite bit was when he said, ‘We can only do this because of the money my mother left us’; as if Diana was some poor old dear saving a few pennies each week in a biscuit tin. Her divorce settlement was £15m! He’ll have got half of that! Plus, didn’t he also inherit from the Queen Mother? I don’t think he’ll be agonising over whether he can afford Heinz beans instead of own brand any time soon.
StatisticallyChallenged · 09/03/2021 23:45

I believe the Queen Mother left him money too. And most of those inheritances has been well invested for years. But they want to live a very expensive lifestyle - massive house, jetset, requiring very expensive security.

The money side of things really didn't come across well - it just sounded very spoiled. A late 30s millionaire complaining he was cut off by dad isn't a great look.

sst1234 · 10/03/2021 00:31

It’s so strange that Meghan didn’t know so much. She conveniently pleads ignorance to everything she should have known. She’s not credible at all. So much of what she says sounds like lies, like the rant about Archie not being a prince, she knows why that is. Not knowing who Harry was, sure whatever. And some of it is just lies such as getting married 3 days before the wedding. And Harry, he doesn’t need to make things up, he actually believes it which is worse.

HmmmmmmInteresting · 10/03/2021 00:54

Harry and Meghan have never said they want privacy. That's what the Daily Hate keep peddling and the morons lap it up.

Funny how ITV cut this scene out of the interview to continue the false narrative:

See how you are all being controlled.

Malteser71 · 10/03/2021 01:00

The sermon was ridiculous. Even Harry and meghan themselves poked fun at it afterwards.

Jbon9087 · 10/03/2021 01:28

If you hated the wedding so much why watch it?.....

I mean you won't catch me watching football accidentally never.

Isn't that how the remote works? Confused
