That statement is a masterclass in public relations. It shuts it down and is dignified and classy. And quite frankly puts Harry and Meghan in their place and makes their actions look really quite grubby. Sometimes less is more.

Once they are no longer royal insiders, their use by date will be up pretty quickly, I'd say.

I haven't seen Suits. Is Megan a good actress, does she have that to fall back on? I don't think Harry has much to fall back on.

So you think a man who grew up in the Firm, who described the relationship between the RF and the press, and how the press need to wined and dined to publish the right 'stuff' and who described how trapped Charles and William are in that system, is going to suddenly forget all that and expect a public outpouring of verbal diarrohea?

Yes, I think it's possible that he did expect there to be more of an attempt to elaborate on everything that was said. I think he may have expected a public apology as he clearly feels very aggrieved and that they have been treated very badly. I think he now sees things in a very different way and is very invested in the way of life they now have, and he comes across as the kind of person who struggles to accept that other people see things differently.
The whole tone and feel of the interview and their own business ventures are far more geared towards a younger US audience, and it has only taken a year for him to be completely beguiled by life in California. To me, the statement released today by BP is perfect, but there will be many people, especially in the US, who will think it shows that the RF are cold, unfeeling monsters.

Oh well done H&M you've rid us of the hideous Piers Morgan. I reckon Charles should hand over the cash for that alone. The country thanks you.

They're hardly discouraging coverage - they just did an interview with Oprah, after absolutely not contributing to a book, various snippy comments... They're like the ex who chose to leave you but wants to keep sniping away when they don't get enough attention.

They've got huge contracts with Netflix and Spotify yet they seem very reluctant to actually move on.

Okay I take everyone's point about the sermon and will unclench. Huge relief actually, having been clenching since May 2018.
