I do feel incredibly sorry for them about the comments regarding how dark the baby would be.

I had the same from ex in laws. I'm mixed race and they were distraught at what the people at the rotary club and the masons would think of my baby was black (I'm not black, I'm half Indian but let's not let that get in the way of a bit of racism).

As it turns out my dc had their pale colouring and blonde hair.

But it's horrible to hear that when you are pregnant.

However, the fact that H&M claimed to have got married three days beforehand with only the two of them and the archbishop (which would be a legal impossibility) suggests that at best they are delusional and at worst they are willing to brazenly lie for personal gain. So I question how much of the rest of it is true.

This, very much so. I'm not a fan of Megan, haven't been since the whole 'no one asked me if I was OK' debacle. The fact that she actually said that, in Africa, no less, showed just how much she lives in la la land. So much of last nights interview just did not make sense at all.
Now, I sympathise with her feeling awful, I really do. I know poor mental health can strike anyone, but is she really saying that she felt suicidal, whilst being pregnant, and didn't tell her antenatal team!? Despite having superior health care? Or wasn't able to organise private counselling herself or through Harry, despite both Harry and William regularly talking about the importance of good mh support?
Maybe I'm wrong to feel like this but I struggled terribly with pnd after being abandoned post birth and was given literally no support (really shocking Dr's surgery) and I'm really struggling now, living in a tiny flat miles away from family with a non stop 3 year old and I filled out a self referral form for help from my local mh service and I'm still waiting for a call back weeks later, so frankly, I'm struggling to feel sympathetic

As someone who has never met her maternal grandmother because she disowned my mother for marrying a man who wasn't white, I am pretty sensitive to the kind of attitude that was mentioned in the interview.

However, I think if you are going to make that sort of accusation, you have to state it clearly and not create a situation which is going to invite rapid speculation and bring suspicion on a whole load of innocent people. I can only think that they must be happy for the whole family to be tarred in this way.

Harry's the only member of that family I've ever liked, except Diana. They're vile, I'm glad Meghan and Harry are taking them on.

TBH I am tired of all this crap! Whatever the rights and wrongs of it .There is likely going to be a clash of personalities ,between an Upper Class lady wealthy beyond measure, and a young American actress! I cant be doing with "He said She said" We are in a pandemic, and worried about Covid ,Job losses and so on.The decent thing for H and M would be to relocate to the US and keep a dignified silence! The Queen has welcomed them and Doria for Christmas .Prince Charles gave Meghan away when her Father was unable to ,The Queen gifted them a Cottage at Frogmore (now gratefully appreciated by Princess Beatrice and her Family )So its hard to see how they feel so unhappy! Apparently some unkind remarks were made about baby Archie .Surely these should have been dealt with at that time?

It's all very Eastenders, isn't it. Or more Dynasty. The dramatic music, the pauses, the coy hanging of her head. Making all these wild allegations, hinting at senior royals, but of course not naming names to keep us all guessing.

And they know that there is no way that Queenie, William and Kate are going to sit down and do a similar interview with Holly Willoughby. They will do as they have always done and stay silent.

The racism thing may be true or may be a throwaway "oh I wonder if he'll have red hair or darker skin" comment taken out of context. Who knows. I've certainly had similar comments about my kids "do you think the next one will have red hair too??" It's a strong narrative for Ms Markle though - nasty racist Brits chased me out of the UK when all I wanted was to be a superstar princess. Poor little me.

The skin colour discussion is clearly PP and it doesn't surprise me. I'm no apologist for him, but he is a 99 year-old who has lived through huge changes in race relations and simply has never caught up. My 97 year old FIL is exactly the same.

I expect there's wrong doing on both sides, but airing your dirty washing in public, across the world, is trashy.

This is who Meghan is, so I'm not surprised. She's a woke-ish self-publicist who wanted all the good bits of royalty (money, fame, status) and none of the bad (not getting overly involved in commerce or politics). There was a clear culture clash and some bad-feeling that she's now weaponising as racism, using that to add rocket fuel to their newly-founded media careers.

Absolute nonsense that Archie was 'refused a title'. He is not eligible for one until Charles becomes King as he is too far from the succession. Harry, at least, has to know that and did not correct the impression that Meghan's statement made. For that disingenuous comment alone I am now team palace. Also whining about being cut of financially irritated me. They left the job and left the country. Who gets paid for a job they don't and won't do? They have millions in their own right. Just wish they would shut up.

But the American viewing public don't know that. They don't know that Princess Anne's children aren't titled, or that Edward's children are Viscount and Lady not Prince and Princess. And Oprah's not going to pull her up on it.

It plays better into their narrative of "poor little hard done by us".
