I mean on Facebook posts, sites where people are asking for items to be donated etc
I just think if you're going to post, at least check what you've written!
To name a few:
Your / you're
Draws for drawers
There / their / they're
To / too
How do others feel?

OP posts:

I cannot stand snobs who judge people on things like this. Honestly who do you think you are?

I don't think they're snobs, more like people who like to make themselves look and feel superior by pulling others down. By putting others down who aren't as strong in one area as they are, and making a big deal out of it, they hope their own particular failings, or lack of effort to improve those won't be noticed.

I've come across it in just about every area of life, some of the people on here are just the SPAG and language version.

@fluffysocks89

Yanbu. It’s a pity that you made that simple mistake in your Op.In typical MN fashion it just could not be overlooked. But I too get irrationally annoyed at all the continuous spelling mistakes.
But the whole point of this thread is to complain about people who don't proofread posts! Why leave the OP's mistake aside, but everyone else's make people irrationally something?

Love this thread, love seeing SPAG pedants foist by their own petard (there's an error in that sentence, a gift for OP during Intl Womens Week).

Three full stops and one apostrophe are conspicuous by their absence in the above. There is also a deliberate error.

Thanks Jane, your pedant earrings look great on you!

Janegrey333 · 09/03/2021 10:16

Yes, they do!

Why are people sympathetic towards people whose maths isn't strong, who can't catch a ball or who aren't artistic- but are judgmental and unsympathetic towards people who struggle with spelling and / or grammar?
