i’ve used MN for years, and i often think about particular threads or posters that stuck out to me or i interacted with ages ago that i haven’t been able to find (or just seemed to stop posting without a trace) since then.

anyone else get strangely nostalgic/curious thinking back to threads/posters and wonder what became of them?

The Wilted Rose (?) was another one. I think it was ESD in one of her original names that exposed her, I remember being on the thread.

There was one from 5 ish years ago, possibly more. She had 3 kids I think, husband pressuring her to have another but there was some half-renovated death trap bit of the house which he wouldn't fix?

I remember a thread exactly like that, but I don't think it was as long ago as five years.

One popped up again today from a while ago, which I wanted to read in case there was an update - the one about the poster who had had terrible problems with work, and then work had said she'd resigned but she hadn't. I missed reading it, and now I can't find it - why is the Search on MN such absolute rubbish?

Apologies, it was me who suggested ESD got banned. It's hard to keep track. I miss her posts, she was/ is witty. @BlueLikeASmurf please let her know she's missed. Hopefully she still lurks a bit Smile

Does anyone remember a teenage pregnancy poster called something like Katy Cat from a couple of years ago? I vaguely know her through a friend of a friend of a friend and I believe she was banned from here for being a suspected troll. If anyone does remember her and wondered what happened I just wanted to say she was genuine.
She hadn't told anyone and the posters convinced her to tell her mum and it all went well and she had another baby soon after? If so I remember. I didn't know she got banned.

And the one where the OP lived in a protected building but the neighbours had torn windows out to make a door or something. Maybe they were trying to lay claim on her garden? They were going to get into trouble with the heritage people. I occasionally wonder how that got resolved.

I think that turned out to be a troll.

Has anyone officially said this? Every time there's a thread like this and that one comes up, someone says it was a troll but I don't know if it's because they've heard it in this way. The threads are still there, some of them at least, I haven't searched them all down.

One that always sticks in ny mind was a poster who was blatently posting from a psychiatric hospital and was fixated with a man who lived there or nearby and she would visit him and get upset. Hope life turned around for her.

About five years ago I was quite poorly and on here ALL the time, EatShitDerek stands out, as does a poster called ghostspirit who had several children and all manner of relationship/finance/housing problems. Then ironically she disappeared...like a ghost.

I also remember the lady who lived on a farm and had cows coming to her kitchen window. What an idylic lifestyle.

I think this was maybe a year or two ago, there was a lady who was fairly young, pregnant and was living with the boyfriends parents. Their house was absolutely filthy, overridden by rats and then flies because of the rats.
She was adamant she couldn’t go and live with her family as they didn’t get on and didn’t seem to think there was any other option than to bring the baby into that awful house. So sad

Child deaths, still borns stay with me and I often wonder how these families are now right now. Also the posters that publish threads how they can't pay rent or have to choose between food or bills always sticks with me and I hope they are in a better place right now. I sometimes wish I won the lottery so I can pm them and help them. This years been very hard for most people.

I also want another Piss off Pam thread from a few days ago which got full. I wonder what happened in a space of few days. Please do another thread.

Ha! Yes, 'Piss off Pam' was so much fun. I was so disappointed to come back to that thread and find it completely full 😭

Not sure if this one has been mentioned but a good while ago there was a thread in relationships, an older woman whose husband had had an affair and then left her for the OW after many many years of marriage. She was absolutely shell shocked, I think her name was something to do with lily or Lillian I really felt for her and followed her thread for months, but lost it somewhere along the lines. I really hope she's ok

A few years ago a poster who had two young sons, and whose DH was the biological father of the youngest and step dad to the oldest. The DH was abusive to the older son but she didn't want to leave for the sake of the younger son. Made my heart break to think of what the eldest boy was going through. She deleted her original post and didn't come back. I really hope she was able to leave eventually and that her and her boys are happy.

Not a sad one. But one where bags of sugar kept vanishing and the mum thought it was one of the kids. Still absolute desperate to know 1) which child it was but more importantly 2) why they were nicking sugar.

My favourite thread which brightened up a Friday night ages ago was the Christians against Dinosaurs one which fast became Dinosaurs against Christians against Dinosaurs. Very very funny.
