to ask if you ever wonder about certain posters/threads?

i’ve used MN for years, and i often think about particular threads or posters that stuck out to me or i interacted with ages ago that i haven’t been able to find (or just seemed to stop posting without a trace) since then.

anyone else get strangely nostalgic/curious thinking back to threads/posters and wonder what became of them?

I saw AnyFucker get that beating recently and it felt awful, how people pile on when they can. Not called for, when someone - anyone - is asking for support

She posted that she wanted to go to her second home. People pointed out that it was a bit tone deaf, and that she shouldn’t but the vast majority of the posts were people telling her she should do it as she gave people such good advice

The arguing was mainly between her supporters and people incredulous at the arse licking. Never seen an OP’s name referenced so much in a thread!

I also remember knitting novice. RIP. X

I noticed that too. I remember once when she was banned (as in suspended) that there was a protest thread and MN commented that AF caused a lot of upset, had been warned repeatedly and also had many other usernames

The first two are correct, the final comment is simply made up. The only “many other usernames” I have are joke ones or seasonal ones that are a clear variation of AF

Finally got out of the house that day and fled
Was posting on thread and some idiot thought I was trolling and later that day the thread was removed
I was DEVASTATED
I had no one at that point and there I was being told off for not telling the paramedics what he had been doing and then accused of making it all up

Anyway - for those wondering
We eventually escaped as he tried to kill me and my family

There have been lots of awful domestic abuse cases over the years- I hope they all ended safely but statistically some of them must have been killed?

What was the latest? That she was part of Boris Johnson's COVID response team, had been one of the first people in the UK to be given a COVID test, and that she'd written multiple books during lockdown (while simultaneously chairing meetings at 10 Downing Street, fighting Covid

A woman lost her wife to cancer. They had recently had a baby. I wonder how they are both doing.

Not sure if this one has been mentioned but a good while ago there was a thread in relationships, an older woman whose husband had had an affair and then left her for the OW after many many years of marriage. She was absolutely shell shocked, I think her name was something to do with lily or Lillian I really felt for her and followed her thread for months, but lost it somewhere along the lines. I really hope she's ok
