Yes the guy lost his mother in a tragic way at a young age. (So have many) Yes he was forced out into the public eye in the middle of grief (which was horrific at the time and worse on reflection) BUT he is now an adult man with a family and access to life of extreme privilege yet he cannot seem to realise that him publically complaining about his lot in life and telling the rest of us how to behave is distasteful. Also, the petulant way he seems to communicate with the media is just undelining his immaturity and lack of awareness. By which I mean, the potshots in statements and rapping with James Corden and his pathetic man of the people schtick. If you want to be Hazzer give up your title and STFU!

It didn’t have the sunshine but most importantly it didn’t have the celebrity!

There’s loads of royal hobnobbing with celebrities 😆

What are you talking about?

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2021 11:39

Many, many adults have lost parents and have to continue with our lives

He had to continue his life aged 12 when his Mum died, and he had to do that with the world's press up his nose, watching and commenting on his every move. The 'hoi polloi' don't have to put up with that.

Janegrey333 · 28/02/2021 11:40

@HmmmmmmInteresting

The only reason the Damian Lewis thing is silly is because Damian is 15 years older than Harry! He needs a young handsome ginger actor to play him.
Ginger? Handsome?

Can’t think of one.

CathyorClaire · 28/02/2021 11:41

So why aren’t they allowed to do other projects again?

Like what?

they were always going to need more than £34mil to comfortably pay for their (and the kids') 24/7 private security for the rest of all their lives

A cost they didn't factor in because they took it for granted the taxpayer would cough.

TheKeatingFive · 28/02/2021 11:42

Like what?

What they’re doing now

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2021 11:43

He'll just have to play himself in that case...

TorringtonDean · 28/02/2021 11:48

He was obviously briefed to say Damian Lewis. He couldn’t even remember the bloke’s name right and said Daniel.

Harry actually came across as funny and well-balanced in the Cordon thing but it’s only purpose was self-publicity.

CathyorClaire · 28/02/2021 11:50

What they’re doing now

Eh?

They have enough already to live the quiet life of service they say they want. That's the point.

TorringtonDean · 28/02/2021 11:51

The rest of us don’t parade around in carriages and own palaces etc so no, we don’t get as much attention. It doesn’t make out grief less though.

Kljnmw3459 · 28/02/2021 11:52

I think Harry is allowed to do what he wants with his life. I'm glad he's staying in the public eye because he and Megan can both create something meaningful as their legacy. I would also have loved to have them stay as part of the Royal Family but I'm guessing Harry didn't feel that it was something he wanted to do.

The Corden interview was entertaining enough and I'm not that interested in the Oprah interview.

TheKeatingFive · 28/02/2021 11:58

They never said they wanted that.

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2021 12:01

I don't think Harry did either of those things at the age of 12, and TBF the carriages come out for state occasions so not sure of the relevance here. As for palaces they come with the job mostly.

TheFairyCaravan · 28/02/2021 12:04

H&M could have lived a quiet and comfortable life at Frogmore Cottage. Lots of privacy and security there and they must have made it very comfortable.

They couldn’t, though, could they? That was proved before the ink was dry on the marriage certificate. The tabloids didn’t leave them alone. H&M didn’t do anything wrong so they made stuff up. Meghan put Princess Charlotte’s life at risk with her wedding bouquet... they were having x, y & z installed at Frogmore cottage at tax payers expense but that was lies. They even said that they’d had staff hand out notes to locals telling them not to speak to H&M if they saw them, again it was rubbish.

They couldn’t do right for doing wrong. I don’t blame them for emigrating and if his title earns him money then good for him, too.

Both William and Harry were protected whilst they were at school, and beyond, under an agreement struck with the major media outlets.
Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2021 12:06

Yes they could have lived a quiet life of privacy at Frogmore Cottage as long as they never stepped out of the front door.

Or opened their mouths about anything

And how is that different where they live now, in the entertainment capital of the world? Paps are everywhere, not just London.
ancientgran · 28/02/2021 12:08

Ginger really is the acceptable colour prejudice.

It's a shame they had to walk behind that coffin, any 'agreement' reached was too late for that.

Sparklingbrook · 28/02/2021 12:11

Paps are everywhere, not just London

Of course there are paps everywhere, but the paps in England are a very specific breed when it comes to the RF.

Isn't it just? Sad
CallmeAngelina · 28/02/2021 12:12

"It's a shame they had to walk behind that coffin"
We don't know how that came about, nor what either of them actually thought about it. Many of us would not have chosen it, but others view it as a sign of respect. I seem to recall both of them being asked about it, given time to think about it, knew that they would be supported in it by the company of their father, uncle and grandfather, and they both elected to do so.
One can speculate that they were pressured, but that it all it is, speculation.

OhWhyNot · 28/02/2021 12:13

Harry would never be able to live a quiet peaceful life he will always be an interest to the press and public so will his wife and children

It’s ridiculous to think he could

He certainly will have a lot of press intrusion in the states but the press are coming form a different angle he is not their property as we see him to be here where many of the press seem to think they are working on behalf of the palace or make claims of how angry the palace/Queen is. LA is a place that’s easier to live a more secluded life but his life will always be of public Interest he has no choice in that and never has

CallmeAngelina · 28/02/2021 12:13

"Of course there are paps everywhere, but the paps in England are a very specific breed when it comes to the RF."

Just England? Were they "English" (not British?) paps in Paris the night Diana was chased to her death?

CathyorClaire · 28/02/2021 12:15

They never said they wanted that

They've literally just said it.
