AIBU to think that Prince Harry is coming across as the most tone deaf and hypocritical member of the RF right now?

Yes the guy lost his mother in a tragic way at a young age. (So have many) Yes he was forced out into the public eye in the middle of grief (which was horrific at the time and worse on reflection) BUT he is now an adult man with a family and access to life of extreme privilege yet he cannot seem to realise that him publically complaining about his lot in life and telling the rest of us how to behave is distasteful. Also, the petulant way he seems to communicate with the media is just undelining his immaturity and lack of awareness. By which I mean, the potshots in statements and rapping with James Corden and his pathetic man of the people schtick. If you want to be Hazzer give up your title and STFU!

AIBU?

Anyway. It now appears enquiries are ongoing which is heartening to see
Good you're happy about that, looks like it doesn't reflect well on William either.
This seems to sum it up... (from your article)
"A compliance case means we are assessing the information that has been put to us and seeking to establish facts; it is not, in itself, a finding of wrongdoing.

"This is not a formal investigation (statutory inquiry), which is our more serious form of intervention."

Wow 800 posts for a H and M thread without being deleted it's a miracle!!!

I don't have an issue with it reflecting badly on Wills. The point is the whole thing is neither as clear cut or as done and dusted as the vehement lawyerly denials and July 2020 links would have us believe.

I was impressed by his fitness level, poor James, he is a good sport.

Re the DOC being 'forced' to pose with the babies. She said on the Happy Mum Happy Baby interview with GF that she and William were happy to do it, because the public had been so supportive and wanted to share in the joy with them. It's on Youtube if the frothers want to take a listen.

Oooh you are back. What do you think of your thread?
ChocolateSantaisthebestkind · 27/02/2021 22:01

What do you mean @Sparklingbrook? It has generated discussion, as most threads do, why should I think anything of it?

Just that you started the thread then disappeared. It has generated discussion (pages and pages of it) but you didn't join in. Confused

What do you think about the fact that due to this thread, people have gone to watch the interview (when they wouldn't have otherwise) and they liked it and Harry too? Grin
MiniCooperLover · 27/02/2021 22:11

What annoyed me was the 'you know us royals don't carry cash' joke .::: are you a royal? Ok but you don't want to be treated as such and want privacy ... oh but only if it's on your terms and you can earn cash the rest of it while you FaceTime 'Meg'. I think what's interesting is cordon is friends with both William and Harry and as 'fun' as I'm sure Harry is William is powerful and I think think cordon would piss him off so I'm guessing William knew of this ahead of tjmr.

Emeraldshamrock · 27/02/2021 22:11

Oh hello OP.
She said on the Happy Mum Happy Baby interview with GF that she and William were happy to do it, because the public had been so supportive and wanted to share in the joy with them
She couldn't say it was shit intrusive and I'd rather be home in my joggers.

isitspringyet · 27/02/2021 22:14

Still waiting for links about Williams’s bullying 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

Samcro · 27/02/2021 22:15

Well she was hardly foing to say she didn't want to do a photo shoot just after giving birth was she.

Samcro · 27/02/2021 22:16

Thanks op for proving you started this thread to goad.

ChocolateSantaisthebestkind · 27/02/2021 22:21

Talk about writing your own story Samcro! I started the thread based on my own thought as others do, how have I been goady?

Ive just watched and I thought he came across really well. Although i have more admiration for Jodie Foster who was also on the show.

ChocolateSantaisthebestkind · 27/02/2021 22:23

@Sparklingbrook I'm an adult who understands that people hold different opinions to me so that's fine Grin Many people on this thread riding to defend H&M and decry those who don't support them as racists etc. don't seem to understand that though.

Why would you start a thread like this and disappear? Unless you are very new to MN you would know exactly how H&M threads go and this one was in AIBU 'for traffic' presumably. What made you come back to it?

Do you not understand hyperbole, Paquerette?

"Stay out of her uterus" or "why won't they stay out of her uterus" are commonly used expressions in situations, like MN threads or tabloid coverage, where people are expressing a peculiar level of investment in a strange woman's reproductive choices. Most people are intelligent enough to realise this is a figurative statement.

When Archie was born there were 20-page threads full of posters screaming in outrage over Meghan not posing on the steps immediately after giving birth, with several posters insisting their rights to see the baby were being violated. (When they would have screamed and tantrummed just as hard had she posed.) I distinctly remember one poster writing, "we have every right to see THE BABY WE PAID FOR" in all caps. That's deranged. That's froth. Not using a tiny bit of hyperbole to point out how weird it is to be so invested and entitled over access to a strange woman's baby.

The fact you attack me for committing the crime of using hyperbole, and completely ignore the very valid points I've made exposing other posters' hypocrisy, shows what your agenda is.

Attack Meghan all you like, you're not going to convince me that Meghan committed some terrible crime by waiting a couple of days to do a post-birth photocall.

ChocolateSantaisthebestkind · 27/02/2021 22:26

Free time, kids are in bed and DH is watching something about cars. I am new to MN and didn't realise you were meant to be a slave to threads you start.

Not a 'slave' but generally on MN you start a thread and then engage with the people that have taken time to post on it, at least initially. This thread will be full soon though so now's your chance!

OP has no critical thinking skills at all - everything is regurgitated from the DM. I imagine the presss are going to be allowed to use Harry and Meghan as a convenient distraction from Prince Andrew until the Queen and Prince Phillip die. Then afterwards the media fodder will suddenly dry up or even turn into positive stories about them.
