Question for couples. Double or King size?

I moved in with my partner 6 months ago and everything is great except he has a double bed and I'm a restless sleeper and he gives off a ton of heat.
I've said we should get a king size as that's what most people have.
He seems to think it's not the bed and that I'm the one with a problem and that most people have double beds and get on alright with them.
I'd have a super king if it was me but the room wouldn't take it.
So AIBU for not wanting to spend every night squashed up in a double bed?
If you're a couple what do you have?

King size. Would go for a super king if our bedroom was bigger!

King sized and if we had room a super king.

Superking zip and link with divan base. Basically two single mattresses with a lovely soft memory foam on a superking base. There's even room in the middle for another person! Had it 5 months, it's fantastic.

Plus changing the duvet covers is a great upper body workout

Super king which I have to myself. H sleeps in a double in another room. Perfect sleep every night for both of us.
A 4 foot 6 double gives you 2 foot 3 each. Who on earth would want to sleep in a 2 foot 3 bed?

We have a double and it's a squeeze, especially when the 5yo gets in too! Definitely go for a king.

We have a super king. I won't book a hotel/holiday cottage with less than a king.

Before my husband died we had a king size bed , which I kept for a few years . When I bought a new bed I got a double as it fitted the room better and a single would be too squashed for me

We have a double but we like to snuggle up at night. I’d like a king though!

We actually slept in a single bed for the first year, I have no idea how!!!

SuperKing ..... I have one - never looked back.

If you have the space go for a superking not just a king. I love it and can really spread out. My DP is very tall and larger so love the room it gives..
