The thing is @Roussette most people don’t feel madly hostile to them nor madly madly obsequious.
The main thing that’s exciting comment now is that they’re benefiting from the dukedom whilst adopting a very Californian celebrity style and signing multi million dollar contracts. That’s the only thing that they can reasonably be criticised for. If they hand back the dukedom, he will still be Diana’s son, they will still have this incredible profile, the American market loves them. They will be rich and I’m demand and able to choose their work projects for the rest of their lives. They’re set and they generally seem to mean well, even if there is sometimes a culture clash that makes them play differently on either side of the Atlantic.
What keeps the overly-heated argument going is the people at the two fringes who are delusionally overinvested.
I’ve just been called a “bitter old [expletive deleted]” for the pretty mild observation that the photo was cheesy, but baby news is lovely news.
While the minority are that worked up over nothing, the batshittery will continue.
