I have no idea what ( if anything) was said to whom at the wedding but the loose fitting coat certainly got people talking

Gosh yeah, imagine wearing a coat. The cheek of her.

Not the only time she’s been criticised for wearing a coat either. Sheesh.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 16/02/2021 15:15

'You know for a fact she made an announcement that she was pregnant actually at the wedding? Would love to see proof of that. No idea on any of this, don't know how pregnant she was at the time but no doubt someone will come on here with facts and make it the most awful thing.'

Scobie and Durand said in their tacky Finding Freedom book Eugenie hadn't been impressed they'd told family on her wedding day. Though of course we know H&M had absolutely nothing to do with that book so it may be fake. Mind, if it was fake you'd think they'd have been sued..

Beseigedbykillersquirrels · 16/02/2021 15:19

According to 'Finding Freedom', which everybody went to great lengths to deny any involvement from H&M but then admit that they were actually involved, it said that Eugenie was upset by their announcement at her wedding. So that's one source.

Beseigedbykillersquirrels · 16/02/2021 15:19

Oh sorry, cross post

Roussette · 16/02/2021 15:20

Thank you Keating. The way posters have gone on and on about it in the past, and now, I thought it was fact.

Just googled it and there's plenty out there saying they didn't.

Just incidentally, I saw this...
'In curious timing, Princess Margaret finally announced she was engaged to Anthony Armstrong-Jones just one week after the Queen gave birth.'

Everyone is guilty 😂

TheKeatingFive · 16/02/2021 15:22

Well personally I haven’t read the Scobie book, but hilarious to find those anti them/declaring them publicity seekers have 😆

TheKeatingFive · 16/02/2021 15:22

Or are at least very familiar with its contents.

welshmercury · 16/02/2021 15:23

Not gonna lie. I cried a little. Having a rainbow baby after a baby loss is something I’ve yet to be blessed with. I’m 42 and in no way as fit and heathy as M aged 39

Roussette · 16/02/2021 15:23

Nor me, I am not a fan of any royal books. Nor the Crown or anything like it.

Erm, no. There's a thing called Google where you can search for info and pictures of cats.
Roussette · 16/02/2021 15:24

welshmercury Awww Flowers. I wish you well. x

But princess Margaret wasn't as high-profile as the queen. You don't seem to get this?
Oldbutstillgotit · 16/02/2021 15:25

@ TheKeatingFive I specified loose fitting as you well know . It stood out because she tended to wear very fitted clothes , understandable given her small frame.

TheKeatingFive · 16/02/2021 15:26

I specified loose fitting as you well know

so fucking what Wink

Oh no you don't need to read it. There's things called newspapers, the internet and the news y'see. There has been snippets from that awful book that invades the RF's privacy for months.

Anyway, that's the source hope its helpful, as you did say say it was 'all conjecture'.

Roussette · 16/02/2021 15:28

What do you mean?

She was about as high profile as you can get without being the Queen! It's the equivalent of talking about Harry. Or Charles's siblings.

What is it I'm not getting? Totally confused by what you are saying.

I just talked about it as I found it amusing, not as something I wish to compare with anything or debate.

TheKeatingFive · 16/02/2021 15:28

You forget Rousette

When Meghan is pulled apart for doing exactly the same thing as another royal, there’s always a reason why Meghan doing it is TOTALLY different.

Now don’t make that mistake again!

TheKeatingFive · 16/02/2021 15:30

Oh no you don't need to read it. There's things called newspapers, the internet and the news y'see

And how to you know they’ve accurately portrayed what’s written there if you haven’t read it?

Roussette · 16/02/2021 15:31

Keating look.... what people should realise is... my brain has shrunk to the size of a small baked bean during lockdown.
So the high profile/not high profile post has left it shrinking even further.
Totally confuzzled here.

As you say, we are not allowed to mention another Royal who has done the same or worse, there is a law saying It. Is. Not. The. Same.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 16/02/2021 15:32

'And how to you know they’ve accurately portrayed what’s written'

Hmm, think there's laws and rules about that type of thing. You can't quote from a book then just make it up.

TheKeatingFive · 16/02/2021 15:34

Hmm, think there's laws and rules about that type of thing

You should probably read this

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/jan/19/there-is-a-reason-why-royals-demonised-but-wont-read-all-about-it-prince-harry-meghan-markle

Not specifically relevant to what we’re talking about, but if you think specific sections of the press don’t have an agenda.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 16/02/2021 15:35

Anywayyyy I wish them happiness and health.

Let's just hope they show some class and dignity with the upcoming 90 minute chat with Oprah Winny.

Paquerette · 16/02/2021 15:42

@SleepingStandingUp

They announced their first pregnancy at Eugenie's wedding, then made it public a day or so later. Now they choose to announce the second pregnancy days after Eugenie had her baby. If Eugenie was on Mumsnet she'd be asking for views on AIBU about family members constantly stealing her thunder! What thunder are they stealing tho? E had her baby, it was announced, her Uncle and Step Aunt would have sent congratulations but it's just another great step nephew. The news of a new grandchild is totally different and won't have stopped them congratulating or being happy for E,J or their parents. E and Js parents and siblings will be happy enough for H and M but it's hardly going to distract them what Master B. The rest of the family will be happy for both.

So it's down to the press and public. Do we think E is crying at home because she's not front page news for a week and now everyone is talking about Harry's baby and not hers?? Do you as the public care less now about E than you would if H&M hadn't announced?

I don't get who is meant to care , who's caring matters, who will now care less?

Who's a great step nephew? Princess Eugenie is the queen's granddaughter, and 10th in line to the throne. Her baby is 11th in line to the throne. He's not very likely to ever be king, but isn't anyone's great step nephew either!
ItsJackieWeaverBitch · 16/02/2021 15:44

Lovely photo of them and very happy for them especially after their loss last year. Hope they don’t get too much shit from the usual suspects (DM, Piers Morgan, Meghan's twat of a sister, etc...)
