With Buckingham Palace’s statement talking about how Meghan and Harry remain much loved members of the family (or something along those lines), I was surprised that H&M didn’t respond in kind, with some sort of affectionate wording about the Queen. Instead they just talked about duty and service. Any thoughts?
It's just another example of how self-centred and tone deaf they can be. It's planet Sussex and they are the sole occupants. This deal was always about what they wanted and what suited them best, not what suited the Firm, Harry's family or their patronages. It's just one huge tantrum.
They're full of inflated self importance, claiming to want to hear people's stories and helping people have their voices heard, etc, and think that it translates into a life changing event for these people but it's all just fluff and nonsense. The wankery surrounding their Archewell foundation is just one big cringe. They are completely blind as to how this makes them come across to some people because they're ultimately chronically self-involved with an unrealistic impression of how inspirational and helpful they are to the average person.
Meghan tried to claim that she had no idea who Harry was when they met. I highly doubt there would have been a second date if Harry was a binman from Bradford. She is being ridiculous if she doesn't realise how disingenuous she sounds about this magical fairytale romance. She is an actress who probably believes she is better than she is if she thinks she is pulling off the narrative about her being an average girl who managed to marry into the British royal family against the odds and is now going to change the world through her kindness and fluffy words, and that she doesn't need the association with the royals to do this.
