Soft porn included in "recommended resources" for secondary school kids in Wales

I have seen it all. The Women's Equality Network in Wales and produced a "toolkit" to celebrate international women's day which links to resources from Gal Dem which includes a soft porn video where the actress says "how do you want to f**k tonight Daddy". Also on the site are tips for "kinky zoom orgies"

Have they actually lost their minds? More information here:

twitter.com/SafeSchools_UK/status/1360320342141653006?s=20

AIBU to think this is just out and out grooming?

Have attached a screenshot for those who don't like to click on links

Also meant to add it's Asda all over again.

MerchedCymru · 12/02/2021 22:40

WEN Wales are part of the UK-wide Women's Equality Network. They are funded by Welsh Government - at least in part. Welsh Government are Stonewall Diversity Champions which probably explains the 'key terms' listed on the Toolkit's opening page:
cisgender
gender equality
gender identity
intersectional (leaves out 'sex' in the relevant characteristics)
non-binary
privilege
sex ('assigned to a person at birth based on genitals and reproductive organs)
transgender
and finally...
woman/girl - a female person. This includes transwomen and girls, as well as ciswomen and girls.'

So an International Women's Day toolkit for schools that relegates women and girls to the bottom of the gender heap and provides a link to a pornographic web site. Nothing to worry about here.

OhHolyJesus · 12/02/2021 22:40

This is disgusting - who the hell approves this? Heads should roll. After Warwickshire and Oxfordshire you would think schools would be more careful and have tighter controls on what the children are being exposed to.

Frankly I don't care how old the children are who see this, showing porn - hard core or soft - to anyone under 18 is illegal.

It is grooming and making kink mainstream isn't it? With kids!

Children are not mini adults.

Who do we complain to?

MerchedCymru · 12/02/2021 22:42

Apparently the toolkit was 'co-produced' with teachers from primary and comprehensive schools. There are actually some good activities in here, and plenty of excellent resources.

However...

2fallsagain · 12/02/2021 22:42

@TravellingTilbury

The hardcopy of leaflet ('toolkit') is headed: INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY TOOLKIT and the footer: *@wenwales* *@wenwales* #ChooseToChallenge #100WelshWomen #IWD2021 but the website that the pdf is viewable on is www.transgendertrend.com

I'm guessing that wenwales contracted out the work and received money from and sold their souls to an activist group in return for a toolkit that is meant to empower women. Just a guess.

You have to sign up for the Toolkit here. Transgender Trend have put it on their website to make it viewable and sharable.

Bloody hell that material is bad. Really bad.

However...

I'm sure there are. And there will be teachers who put forward resources who may well have no idea of what the final pack would include.

The fact the Welsh government are Stonewall champions is no surprise. I am just reading this excellent piece on Stonewall and schools by Transgender Trend: www.transgendertrend.com/stonewall-school-champion/

@travellingtilbury do you know who Transgender Trend are? The intervened in the Tavistock case on her side.

I am disgusted. As a teen, I would have been shocked, and totally confused. Showing the Lamaze movie to all students is more practical, as it makes the consequences of sex very unattractive.

Ericaequites · 12/02/2021 22:53

Would you rather have a self-accepting butch lesbian daughter with full fertility, or a sad infertile son dependent on artificial hormones for the rest of his life? Not everyone wants to have children, but teens aren’t wise enough to make that decision. Stonewall wants to erase girls and especially lesbians. This won’t end well.

MerchedCymru · 12/02/2021 22:59

@travellingtilbury Transgender Trend are a superb organisation committed to safeguarding children. As 2falls said, they intervened on Keira Bell's side in the Tavistock case. They are not the problem here!

They posted the toolkit on their site in order that people could understand what their concerns were/are.

2fallsagain · 12/02/2021 23:02

@MsFogi

All parents now need to be emailing in every term to ask for a full list (and links/copies) of all materials that are proposed to be shown to their dcs over the comig term. (Ideally, they then need to query anything that breaches the guidelines and if they get ignored they need to lodge a formal complaint. But at least do the asking). Only then will schools start to do the due diligence required of them and start to think about the underlying issues.
Yes totally agree. Parents need to see exactly what resources and materials are being shared with their children.

Tweet Baroness Nicholson?

FemaleAndLearning · 12/02/2021 23:12

Transgender Trend and Safe Schools Alliance are brilliant for the safeguarding of our children. Also they are grass roots, receive no money from government and have produced some amazing resources. I've used their resources to inform my primary school so crap like this does not get through. I was working on my secondary school but then lockdown 1 happened. We all need to know what is being taught. I don't want my daughters growing up thinking selling their bodies in any way is a career choice.
Linking to Transgender Trend website so people get to the right site.

gardenbird48 · 12/02/2021 23:23

this is not an accident as a pp hopefully suggested. The Welsh government are nearly as captured by gender ideology as the Scottish government (and we know where that ends - with 'woman' being redefined in law to include 'anyone who identifies as a woman' ie males)

This is wrong and disgusting - make a huge fuss with your mp and anyone who you can get hold of. Share it locally if you can to alert other parents at your school (although obviously be careful not to put yourself at risk of sacking if your employer can see your social media)

TheyWentToSeaInASieve · 12/02/2021 23:30

This is shocking.

Lockheart · 12/02/2021 23:35

Gal-dem is a pretty well established website aimed at young adults and focussing on POC. It is not 'soft porn'.

Soft porn is not being recommended to schools via a toolkit. The toolkit is also for teachers and group leaders, not for children.

I can't see the video referenced in the OP on the front page of gal-dem. I can see articles about eating disorders, struggling with mental health, and modern slavery.

Does no-one else remember reading Cosmo as a teenager? It's no worse than anything that Cosmo would have printed.

This was supposed to be prefaced by "And about the zoom orgies article"

namechangealerttt · 12/02/2021 23:39

Sorry, I am a bit new to understanding all the issues here, I hate the term ciswoman, I an a woman. I don't ever see the term cisman, doesn't exist? Is it not used as much because it is not men's rights generally being eroded in the trans debate.
Interesting how they have to define woman/girl, but not man/boy.
This is fucked.

Gal dem is being recommended as a resource for secondary school children. This video is linked on Gal dem.

gal-dem.com/shorties-watch-as-a-cam-girl-session-becomes-a-funny-meet-cute/.

The opening line is something like "how do you want to fuck daddy'.

Are you telling me you think that's OK?

As for Cosmo, they have printed an article in support of cannibalism fetishes within BDSM this week. So I'm not sure why you are using them as any kind of benchmark.

Well I think it's ok. Don't really see the big deal tbh. Confused

It seems to be some magazine-type website that linked one video in a brief article, they didn't make it, they didn't endorse it.

I'm sure you could find similar material in the pages of Cosmo or wherever else.
