If so, why and who is your favourite character.

Moira. We don't say the word baby in our house anymore, only 'BarByeee'

Also, I only recently found out that David and Twyla are real life siblings, and their real life Dad is Johnny Rose.

LastDuchessFerrara · 10/02/2021 08:44

That pivotal speech by Johnny in the restaurant with their old friends brought a tear to my eye

That scene was beautifully written (no schmaltz) and acted. And then the Rose & Schitt parents joined their kids at the party and they all danced together Smile

I loved how Stevie flourished alongside the Rose family.

And how there was no homophobia towards David and Patrick.

I wonder what Daniel Levy will come up with next.

LagneyandCasey · 10/02/2021 08:45

Hello fellow Shitters!

I discovered it during the first lockdown and quickly binged it and cried at the end Blush

I adore every single character but David just pips pole position. When he was babysitting the girl who started her period he was so lovely to her. His relationship with every single person he meets is a thing of beauty. Everyone should channel a bit of David's empathy and kindness.

It's my feel good show (along with The Office US) to dip into when I need a lift.

LastDuchessFerrara · 10/02/2021 08:47

And I see David, Moira and Alexis getting all the love but Johnny was the linchpin of the family!

Pukkatea · 10/02/2021 08:49

Have started watching it in lockdown. It's fine, perfectly pleasant when I need something to watch, but not laugh out loud funny. Catherine OHara is incredibly irritating.

chomalungma · 10/02/2021 08:51

Stevie is great. I just love her reaction when things are happening around her and her expressions.

I love the character growth in it and the journey. I'm not going to spoil it for people who haven't seen it - but there are moments that do just make you want to cry.

It's not a comedy - but it's not a drama. It's a lovely show with characters you want to root for.

Eeeeeewww!

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 10/02/2021 08:51

I didn't get this the first couple of episodes but stuck with it and am dreading getting to the end - feel like l will actually miss the characters.
David is by far my favourite but in fairness everyone is brilliant in it.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 10/02/2021 08:59

Ok so now l am watching it while dd homeschools herself!

minipie · 10/02/2021 09:09

Agree the first two /three episodes I didn’t really like it. Worth persevering though!

StartupRepair · 10/02/2021 09:09

I love Stevie's dry humour. And how her relationship develops with 'Mr Rose'.

CroutonsAvatar · 10/02/2021 09:30

@Saucery yep. Full Bob jog occasionally with a little silent clap thrown in.

AbsitivelyPosolutely · 10/02/2021 09:31

I really liked them all.

I have a brother called David who hates being called David and is now only called David in the way Alexis says David.

Mrsjayy · 10/02/2021 09:36

We discovered it in November we are now at the end of series 4, it is such a Gem isn't ? it warms my cockles Moria Rose is a ledge !

MummyOfThreeGirls · 10/02/2021 09:51

Watching this is one of the best things I did during the first lockdown, I love it!

I bought my sister a t-shirt with all the quotes on it for her Christmas because she loves it too.

I think I might rewatch it soon, haha! Oh and my favourite is Moira, everything she says makes me laugh 😂

HopingForOurRainbowBaby · 10/02/2021 10:02

Everyone seems to bang on about it. Me... I gave it up after the first 2-3 episodes just couldn't get into it at all

ElizaLaLa · 10/02/2021 10:05

Love shitts creek! I can't decide who my favourite is.

Margaritawithlime · 10/02/2021 10:06

Absolutely loved it. I watched it through recovery with covid and it was a light in some pretty shorty days. I was totally gutted finishing it and started watching it again about a month later. Sounds ridiculous. I didn’t get it at ALL the first time I tried it. In fact it took me about three goes to get past the first few episodes and I don’t think I really loved it until halfway through season 2. I just committed. So glad I did.
My favourite character is David. His relationship with Patrick is just glorious. I loved them all though. Even the mayor in the end.
Stevie singing made me sob. Cant listen to simply the best without a happy tear. It’s just lovely.
And I know a couple of people who have met Eugene Levy and they both said he is a complete and utter sweetheart in real life which makes me love him more.

TryingNotToPanicOverCovid · 10/02/2021 10:09

My new addiction is "This Is Us" and I have fallen in love with all those characters. My other wacky one when I was watching Schitts creek was "The happy place"! Any other recommendations from like minded people appreciated :D

ItWasntMyFault · 10/02/2021 10:22

It probably took me until partway through season 2 to really get into it but now I'm at the end of season 5 so don't have much more left and I absolutely love it.

I like David best and love the way Patrick adores him.

Inpersuitofhappiness · 10/02/2021 10:27

I watched it ages ago, whats his name? Roman? Roland? I love him!
I think all of the characters are likeable in their own way.

poorbuthappy · 10/02/2021 10:28

Took us ages to get into it and now we love it.
Shed a tear at the end too.

Twyla - her revelation was brilliant!

Cocolapew · 10/02/2021 10:29

If I really had to choose I'd say Alexis. But it changes daily Grin

WizardOfAus · 10/02/2021 10:34

Bob & Moira.
