I mean, why?

If you can afford that house you could afford to screen off or redesign the bathroom-in bedroom area. For me having a toilet in bedroom is same as en suite, anyway (I don't like either).

I almost never say a house feels cluttered, yet that house did Seriously bad feng shui in the layout.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 07/02/2021 09:17

Also why is the bedroom bath so short? Looks like you'd have to sit in it rather than lie down, unless it's to do with camera angles.
I think the photo has been taken at a weird angle so you don't realise there's a loo next to the bath.

I love it, I'll take 10 please.

CeeceeBloomingdale · 07/02/2021 09:19

It's not the master, its bedroom two and may well have been used by a single person in which case the screen is for privacy from the window not another occupant of the room. It's not to my taste but could easily be boxed in.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 07/02/2021 09:21

@Tombero

It’s the three small ladies in picture 6 that I’m a bit perplexed by Smile
Am I looking at a different picture 6 to you? All I see is a photo taken in the hallway looking into the dining room. No small ladies, nothing reassembling a skittles alley and nothing weird about it.
Hellswithbigbells · 07/02/2021 09:24

Look closely at the window sill @RichardMarxisinnocent I don’t know why but they have a Thunderbird vibe to me....

EmmaGrundyForPM · 07/02/2021 09:25

@RichardMarxisinnocent. they are on the windowsill of the room to the left - you need to zoom in.

The whole house seems to favour "cold and unfeeling" great for a film set. Nowhere to enjoy being.

Cam2020 · 07/02/2021 09:28

Most of the house is a bit 'why?' to me. A lovely, big space but really oddly planned rooms. Have they made a living/family room out of a hallway?! Really odd how some of it is so grandiose and then they stuck a, bathroom in a bedroom 🤷🏻‍♀️

unmarkedbythat · 07/02/2021 09:29

I'm getting so old and boring mostly what I was thinking was "heating that house would be a nightmare".

Kintsugi16 · 07/02/2021 09:31

@MsJackieWeaver

Going a bit off topic but is there a name for the wooden thing they've used to screen the bath and bog from the rest of the bedroom? I'm looking for one to hide some mess, not a bed-bog-bath set up I hasten to add.
Yes, as said, a room divider or screen. I use one to cover a french door as I don’t want to put up curtains or blinds.
Bluetrews25 · 07/02/2021 09:32

My late DMum would have asked where they put all their books. (She had hundreds, this house has about 5)

rc22 · 07/02/2021 09:32

I love it although would probably change the colour of the exterior and take the bath and toilet out of that bedroom!!

pinkearedcow · 07/02/2021 09:38

I feek cold just looking at that house. It screams more money than taste to me.

As a pp said, the statuette things in pic 6 (reception hallway) are odd.

Maybe it is a swinger's house. Grin.

lynsey91 · 07/02/2021 09:40

I have seen quite a few houses on tv that have a bath in the bedroom. Always one of those old fashioned curved baths.

I think it is pretentious and unpractical. I hate baths and if for some reason I did ever want to take one it would not be in a bedroom. Also when they have a shower attachment how could you ever use it? You would be getting water all over the floor.

MyAnacondaMight · 07/02/2021 09:42

So many unanswerable questions.

www.zoopla.co.uk/property-history/airys-cottage/church-lane/playford/ipswich/ip6-9ds/31038727 This is when it was last listed for sale. The current owners have certainly made some changes!

UrAWizHarry · 07/02/2021 09:42

Proof that all the money in the world can't buy taste.

AbbeyBelfast · 07/02/2021 09:42

The whole house is a mess, nothing fits right. Sofas too big, the headboard overhangs the door way, the dining table is too big. It's all horrifically done.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 07/02/2021 09:45
@RichardMarxisinnocent. they are on the windowsill of the room to the left - you need to zoom in.
Ah thank you, I see them! And more clearly in pic 13. Why is the window they are in front of so small? I quite like the kitchen but the layout and floor plan of the house is could be a lot better. The space isn't used very well.

pinkearedcow · 07/02/2021 09:45

The bath in bedrooms thing is very odd and almost old fashioned - harking back to the days of no bathrooms when people had a tin bath in front of the fire.

Bluntness100 · 07/02/2021 09:46

Gosh, some of these comments, the posters hurling abuse should put pics of their homes up...

I think lots of it is lovely and done very well. It’s someone’s home.

Melroses · 07/02/2021 09:47

WTF have they painted it blue? It sticks out like a sore thumb in that setting. They could have gone for a traditional Suffolk pink

I have seen another house 'done up' recently. It was the Victorian vicarage that I used to pass on the way to primary school and that is beyond hideous now. You couldn't even give it back its former character.

lljkk · 07/02/2021 09:47

@MyAnacondaMight, fewer pics but house seems so much more appealing in those pics. Weird.

Ginfordinner · 07/02/2021 09:48

@UntamedWisteria

There was another thread about this issue very recently.

If it's done well I quite like a bath in the bedroom, can be stylish and practical.

I'm sorry, but what is practical about having a bath in the bedroom? Damp and steam? I prefer to have baths, showers, and especially toilets in a dedicated room that is built and decorated to deal with damp and steam.

I quite like the house, but the layout is bizarre.

Serin · 07/02/2021 09:48

There was a long debate on here about toilets in bedrooms last week. Consensus was that it is becoming 'a thing's. Confused
