@Bourbonic

I think the house generally is horrid

But I can't see a toilet in a bedroom.

if you look at the floor plan, there is no wall for the bathroom in bedroom 2. I assumed it was a mistake and the EA had failed to draw it in but then when you look at the photo of bedroom 2, its clear there is no wall. Because the photo has been taken at an angle you can see the bath and part of the sink, exactly as on the floor plan, so it seems the loo is there as well.

@Purplerayhan

Mean spirited OP. I'm sure we could all find something to bitch at in your house photos if you put the upHmm
Totally agree. Even if the OP tries to defend herself with weasel words. This is just a mean thread.

Oh i absolutely love it! It needs a good designer to make the most out of the space but the bones of it are great. Light and airy, modern without being ghastly.

Love the bedroom and bath too.

Bouncealot · 07/02/2021 08:37

Stayed in an airbnb once with a bath bedroom. Those style of baths are quite difficult to get into if you’re a short-arse. I caused a tsunami on the shag-pile. It was a useful learning experience.

fluffi · 07/02/2021 08:37

I hate the idea of baths in bedrooms, especially because of the steam and moisture, it would need very good ventilation / dehumidifying to avoid damp and mould.

However bedroom 2 looks large enough that could easily put walls around it and turn it into a normal ensuite ... maybe they ran out of money or giving the next owners an "option"? Grin

I love the long windows and how they've tried to make the best of a fairly narrow plot though - I'd probably buy it if I had the cash and a bit spare to sort out bedroom 2 Smile

I think it's a bad remodel/refurbishment of a quite quirky historic house

@LemonTT I expressed surprise about a toilet in a bedroom. I've not criticised the property in any other way.

Confusing. Bedroom 2 and 3 are the same room, surely.
Not much to like.
I’ll take the cash and look elsewhere please!

I love the huge glass wall/windows but they must leak heat and need a lot of cleaning. The rest of the layout looks a bit weird, almost like a child has been told to design their house. I also thought every inhabitable room had to have a window as a means of fire escape too.

Clutterbugsmum · 07/02/2021 08:44

@Exhausteddog

Bedroom 5 looks normal on plan but measurements say 1.2 metres wide!

I feel sure that must be a typo if you look at its dimensions compared to others on the floor plan

I assume that the measurement for the little narrow a bit by the door.
mumwon · 07/02/2021 08:48

the shower head in the bath with just an open screen between the bath & the bed head
I have visions of the pillow & bedding getting thoroughly wet & if you are in the bed you could share the shower without getting out of bed!

Believe when I say I was merely pointing out the hypocrisy shown by the OP.

She clearly just trying to “help” the owner🙄 through a supportive public shaming.

yerse! He was the pips man. I'm sure he wasnt arsed about the layout of his upstairs room.

Unsure33 · 07/02/2021 08:59

I think it’s lovely . Just alter that bedroom .

NewHouseNewMe · 07/02/2021 08:59

Shun me but I like it. (The house, the decor isn't for me but easily changed).

The low height dining table should be a low level snug and would be fine then. It's clearly an old house with low ceilings in places - fine.
To the PPs who said they'd have knocked down the wall between the kitchen and living room, I don't agree. It is semi-open plan which is becoming more common as people zone their vast open plan areas. Who wants a 10m wide room?
Toilet and bath in the bedroom - not ideal but easily fixed.

You get a LOT for your money outside the south east!

RaspberryCoulis · 07/02/2021 09:01

Lovely house. I don't like the way it's been decorated at all, but once the current owners shift all their stuff out it will be great.

I'd imagine it would be very cheap to get a plumber in to disconnect the plumbing to that bath, I definitely wouldn't want one in the bedroom either. you may have to replace the flooring but you could offset the cost by flogging the bath on Gumtree.

UntamedWisteria · 07/02/2021 09:01

There was another thread about this issue very recently.

If it's done well I quite like a bath in the bedroom, can be stylish and practical.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 07/02/2021 09:04

@RaspberryCoulis and @UntamedWisteria I don't think there's a problem with the bath being in the bedroom, its the loo that is the issue!

I'm puzzled by the dining rooms, why have two?

And to get to both of them you have to walk from the kitchen through the family room (I'd get lost trying to find the second one even with a floorplan).

You'd need a hostess trolley for sure.

RaspberryCoulis · 07/02/2021 09:09

Can't people tell just from looking at it that it's not a new house, that it's an older property converted? Look at the thickness of the walls on either side of the room they're using as a family room - they're about three feet thick. Pretty clear that just knocking it all through wasn't an option. Again, easy to block up the arch between the family room and the dining area, or turn it into a cupboard or something?

BringPizza · 07/02/2021 09:12

I don't like baths in bedrooms, far less toilets. So DH can have his morning dump while I lie in bed? No thank you Grin it could all be boxed in and a window made in the new ensuite, but really it's the least of the work I would do to that house.

AlmightyBob · 07/02/2021 09:16

I quite like the fact that the house is blue, but it does look strangely proportioned. Also why is the bedroom bath so short? Looks like you'd have to sit in it rather than lie down, unless it's to do with camera angles.

I also don't understand why they have two dining rooms.

thriftyhen · 07/02/2021 09:17

I think the whole house is very smart. Ours is so old that everything is wonky!
