I’m getting fed up of this now! What have you booked and are you expecting to go?

We are considering a holiday rental but don’t want to get our hopes up. Also don’t particularly want to be on a mobbed beach if we have a hot summer!

None. What's the point? Nowhere will let us in and all this covid crap is changing by the hour.

CorianderBee · 06/02/2021 13:01

Centre Parcs in June. Dates are movable if necessary

Avondklok · 06/02/2021 13:04

I'm abroad and have booked a house at the coast for a few nights over Easter. A change of scenery and a look at the sea will be marvellous. It can be changed if Covid causes a problem before then. Also rebooked our cancelled flights from last year. We were going to do a girls weekend in Lisbon last May but now changed to Palma in October. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

leiaskye · 06/02/2021 14:26

Palma in May with my friends for my big birthday.
New York in October, for same birthday (was august but we moved it back a couple of weeks ago)

I think we should move the Palma trip to next year. Do it now whilst (some) holidays companies are still allowing moves for free.

Yerroblemom1923 · 06/02/2021 18:06

I'm impressed with all the optimism on this thread. I can't bear the constant disappointment.

OverByYer · 06/02/2021 18:10

An apartment in Cornwall last week of May. Am feeling hopeful that we can go there but not sure pubs will be fully open. I just want a change of scene

mindutopia · 06/02/2021 18:14

We have a holiday booked for May half term, but it's in a family house (dh's grandpa's house that was kept in the family, as it's in a lovely location, and we all take turns using it throughout the year). So it's free as we don't pay to stay there and as long as any sort of travel to second homes is allowed, we'll be able to go. We go every year and dh has spent every summer of his life there on holiday.

Also hoping to maybe book a week away in a holiday cottage in August, but haven't taken the plunge yet as there isn't much choice at the moment. I don't know if everyone has already booked or bookings just haven't opened because no one knows what is going to happen yet. We booked quite late in the summer last year and went away the week of the August bank holiday and that was lovely. So may just wait until it's closer to summer. I wouldn't plan to go abroad this year though.

snowone · 06/02/2021 20:28

A week in north east England in August on a cottage, I'm fairly hopeful we will get there 🤞🏼

WishingHopingThinkingPraying · 06/02/2021 22:52

@Yerroblemom1923 I had lots of stuff cancelled last year but a few things came through. I book, it gets cancelled so I make another guess and book again.

It's lovely to proactively put yourself in a position to maybe have a holiday.

blubberyboo · 06/02/2021 23:07

I have a Spain holiday in August carried over from last May. Starting to doubt it will happen as I reckon Europe will need to have their population well vaccinated before they let us in.

Also have an October med cruise carried over from last year. Same problem as above and tbh I won’t go on it if we have to wear masks out on deck and if not allowed off at ports. So I’m expecting to cancel it.

Keeping an eye on things in case places start to reopen such as Centerparcs , haven etc or Airbnbs with hot tubs- we might manage a staycation in UK or Ireland.

Also have easyJet flights to England to visit my sister which have been knocked on several times since this started.

Pinkfreesias · 06/02/2021 23:11

We've booked for America in September. The hotel is completely flexible, cancel up till 24 hours before and the flight can be rearranged. Desperate to go so keeping positive.

FraggleShingleBellRock · 06/02/2021 23:35

I've got a trip to Italy, 8 days in May that was rescheduled from last May. Really hoping that goes ahead but it's not looking great. Today I booked a week in Greece for early July. REALLY hoping that goes ahead. We went in July last year and the resort was mega quiet so hoping this year will go ahead and we will get at least 1 holiday in.

Like everybody else, I'm just desperate for a change of scene.

whoamongstus · 06/02/2021 23:39

Nothing, and we've cancelled our wedding which was booked for September. I'd rather not get my hopes up, to be honest! If it gets to September when schools go back and it's all okay, we'll do a last minute package city break somewhere. I wanted to do a big holiday this year - haven't been abroad for 4 years, wanted to go to Japan. But I doubt it'll be possible, or at least possible without enough hassle/Covid stuff that it'll be less fun than just waiting.

TheSunIsStillShining · 06/02/2021 23:47

I really wish we could close the fucking borders finally.

notangelinajolie · 07/02/2021 00:23

A cruise from Italy to the Greek Isles in August. Transferred over from last year. I haven't booked flights because I doubt it will happen. Hoping the cruise line will cancel it before final payment is due in June because they hold a large deposit which I will lose if I cancel it myself. We did pay by credit card and they are ABTA so hopefully we will get our deposits back but it's a worry all the same.

Notimeforaname · 07/02/2021 00:57

Amsterdam and Albania. All 100% refundable if cant go ahead.

Notimeforaname · 07/02/2021 00:59

I haven't missed a summer holiday yet..everything crossed for summer 2021😭🤞

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 07/02/2021 09:05

Family have apartments in France & Spain so when restrictions are lifted we will book flights to go there

CakeRequired · 07/02/2021 09:07

None. Just hoping I'll get my honeymoon next year. Grin

SnowfallSnowball · 07/02/2021 12:56

I booked Barbados for Christmas, I’m hopeful!

Abraxan · 07/02/2021 15:39

Currently trying to decide whether to risk booking somewhere warm for October.

LadyMayoGoodway · 07/02/2021 17:07

Well we’ve moved our moved 2020 holiday to Mallorca from this May to end of Aug, but honestly I can’t see us going, we can cancel by end of June for a full refund of deposit. Think it’s more likely we’ll go somewhere end of Nov of things continue as predicted.

My in-laws live in a holiday town in UK and we go to see them twice a yr, staying in a holiday house (I can’t do anything more than 2 nights with them 😂) we’ve taken a punt and booked for first wk in July and Oct. I’m feeling more and more positive about July now.

Hagotcha80 · 07/02/2021 17:16

I’ve booked three

Full Covid cover. I read it with a fine tooth comb.

Loved the researching and now looking forward to it.

If 1/2/ or ever all of them don’t happen (unlikely given one end of august), then nothing lost!

StCharlotte · 07/02/2021 17:32

An event in May - will go ahead but behind closed doors. We'd rebooked from last year. Mykonos in July - also rebooked from last year. Depends how much they want us I suppose but neither is looking hopeful.

Also a week in August in Ireland. Not ruling it out yet but who knows. Booked it in a fit of optimism last summer.

Hope we can at least get an extended city break in or something.

We didn't get away at all last year and I'm still really bitter as all our mates managed to get away.

Need the rest of the world to up their vaccine game.
