I’m getting fed up of this now! What have you booked and are you expecting to go?

We are considering a holiday rental but don’t want to get our hopes up. Also don’t particularly want to be on a mobbed beach if we have a hot summer!

Thought about a few options then tried to figure out various dates for vaccination 1st and 2nd doses. Got too complicated.

Oldraver · 05/02/2021 23:08

A week in New Forest, Covid dependant

TheGoogleMum · 05/02/2021 23:11

A week with my parents somewhere in the UK in September! I know nothings guaranteed but I think there is a good chance of it being allowed by then

GoLightlyontheEarth · 05/02/2021 23:13

Scotland in April .
Lake District in Summer. Greece in October. Not sure what will be possible but I live in hope.

Nonamesavail · 05/02/2021 23:15

Cornwall June
Cornwall July

AgeLikeWine · 05/02/2021 23:21

Nothing booked, but we have got plans.

Plan ‘A’, carried over from last year, is Bavaria in May, Calabria & Sicily in June & Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in September. The first two are already looking dodgy, but we are still optimistic about the third.

Plan ‘B’ is to do either Bavaria or Italy in October if we can’t do them earlier in the year.

Plan ‘C’ is Skeggy.

Hopefully, it won’t come to that.... Grin

A few days in Cornwall for my friends wedding, other than that no plans for the next few years.

Champagneforeveryone · 05/02/2021 23:24

We've just cancelled India and Morocco (that makes us sound far more globe trotting than we really are, in reality it's the first time we've actually been out of Europe as a family!) DS at least won't have been vaccinated and it just feels like too many unknowns.

Instead we've booked a canal boat in August. Both DH and teen DS are surprisingly chipper about it, I'm disappointed but truthfully would be happy to be anywhere that's not here Grin

Scarby9 · 05/02/2021 23:25

One week in a holiday apartment by a beach at Easter - postponed from Christmas. Not hopeful...

delilahbucket · 05/02/2021 23:27

We have a log cabin booked in North Yorkshire at Spring Bank, but only because it's our honeymoon, deferred from last year. Other than that, I daren't book anything else.

littlemisslozza · 05/02/2021 23:28

Pembrokeshire in July for a week. Would love to go abroad but even if DH and I have had a vaccine, our DCs won't have. Need to know what the rules will be regarding DC and international travel before I feel confident booking anything. Will be once we can go though!

DrMadelineMaxwell · 05/02/2021 23:30

Last years Spain at Easter was transferred to this easter. About to be cancelled and roll another year on.

Last year uk break May rolled to.this May. Hope.to be able.to.go.

And I have booked a uk break for August (not a coastal town, somewhere quieter) as well as insurance that means if any of us have covid and cant go we can claim it back.

Also have a Portugal moved from last.Oct to this Oct. Not sure if I will even feel happy enough to travel then.

Chimeraforce · 05/02/2021 23:31

A week in a cottage with hot tub for April 2nd.
A week in August in a lodge with hot tub and indoor sauna.

soupmaker · 05/02/2021 23:33

Moved our 4 days in Copenhagen from October 2020 to April this year, flights just been cancelled!

Probably going to lose our Eurocamp deposit for 10 days in Croatia in July - moved from last year.

Booked Haven in Wales for a week at the end of June. Keeping everything crossed.

pollylocketpickedapocket · 05/02/2021 23:35

@Montsti

I’m not in the UK so unfortunately cannot see my family there in the near future (might be 2 years before I see them 🥲). We usually visit the UK in June/July every year but missed last year obviously ...we have booked to stay in South Africa where we live and go on safari at Easter and then do a beach holiday in another province in June/July. We have a postponed Mauritius holiday for end September but are thinking that that’s unlikely...let’s see...

I’d be happy to go anywhere at this stage but appreciate that we’re not likely to go overseas this year..

Why on earth will it be two years before you can visit the U.K.??? Why so much pessimism?
SantaMonicaPier · 05/02/2021 23:36

Nothing booked, although desperate to see overseas family. Last year we managed a week in Wales and it rained every day so a bit hesitant to book a UK break.

pollylocketpickedapocket · 05/02/2021 23:37

I assume if adults have been vaccinated kids would just need a Covid test??
Meatshake · 05/02/2021 23:38

A week in Butlins, a week glamping in Devon and a mini break at Alton Towers. Might try and squeeze something else in as well, maybe a trip to Wales or something.

ConsuelaHammock · 05/02/2021 23:39

None

littlemisslozza · 05/02/2021 23:40

@pollylocketpickedapocket I'm guessing so but that still adds some uncertainty that it might not go ahead. Plus private tests are not cheap, £100+ each, each way? We have three DC...

CarryOnPlainHunting · 05/02/2021 23:40

Long weekend in New York in October. Postponed from last year.

Haven’t booked anything new since the pandemic began.

HolaChicos · 05/02/2021 23:43

We're so fed up of it all now, we didn't have a holiday last year so we've booked a caravan on a site in Cornwall for the middle of August (for £400 more than it usually costs!) I don't think I've ever been so excited about a holiday and we talk about it all the time!! Can't wait to go (hopefully!!)

PickAChew · 05/02/2021 23:45

None but we never do.

RuggerHug · 05/02/2021 23:46

April 2019 we had booked for centre parks. We may be able to rebook it later this year but not planning to. Holidays can wait.

RuggerHug · 05/02/2021 23:47

Apologies, April 2020 I meant to type.
