I’m getting fed up of this now! What have you booked and are you expecting to go?

We are considering a holiday rental but don’t want to get our hopes up. Also don’t particularly want to be on a mobbed beach if we have a hot summer!

We have just moved our Disney land booking to December.
Centre parcs for may
And Greece for August.

Livelovebehappy · 06/02/2021 00:32

I’ve booked a holiday in a cottage for May. I really don’t think a holiday abroad is going to be allowed this summer, and if the government lift lockdown in March/April, I think there’s going to be a mad scramble for U.K. holidays, and everywhere will be booked up or overpriced. If you book through somewhere which has free cancellation, or no pre payment, you can always cancel if the situation changes.

wonderstuff · 06/02/2021 01:00

We've booked a caravan in Wales, rebooked from last Easter to next, a week in Somerset, but that is with two other families, in May, not sure we'll go. Florida in August, flights were reasonable and can be moved up to April 2023 if needed, wanted to book while the price was good, bit of a gamble but I'm not giving up on it yet, vaccine roll out going well over there.

RoseMartha · 06/02/2021 01:02

Nothing
But would like to book a week away in August if there are any cheap uk breaks left.

NoseinBook3 · 06/02/2021 02:46

We’ve got a holiday booked for Egypt at the end of July so I’m keeping my fingers crossed

PrimeraVez · 06/02/2021 03:03

We have flights to the UK booked for March, moved from Christmas. Don’t see that happening and am surprised we haven’t already had an email from Emirates cancelling them. We live in Dubai and haven’t seen any family since December 2019. It’s shit.

Cyprus in June, moved from last year. Not very hopeful about this one either.

Smileandtheworldsmileswithyou · 06/02/2021 03:21

Pangkor Laut, a resort on a Malaysian island for 5 nights at Easter. We live in Malaysia

Alfaix · 06/02/2021 07:18

4 nights in a hot tub lodge in Lincolnshire at Easter- refundable if still locked down
Glamping in May- can change to 2022 if can’t go.
Norfolk in August for a week
July we have 2 options either Spain or Devon. If Spain doesn’t happen we won’t lose money (flights not booked yet). Devon we booked via booking.com so can cancel up to a week ahead with no penalty.

Japa · 06/02/2021 07:20

None!

MinnieMountain · 06/02/2021 07:24

Norfolk in May carried over from last year.

Carried over swimming holiday in Slovenia in July for me. Doubtful.

Pembrokeshire in August.

I’ve got October half term off in the hole of taking DS to Rome. We would book something last-minute though.

Smarshian · 06/02/2021 07:26

A week a cottage in March with my mum and brother and their families. Obviously won’t happen but not been able cancel yet until government announce we aren’t allowed.
4 days in Barcelona in April - again will probably be cancelled.
Week in haven in May - really hoping this one goes ahead.
Lanzarote for 10 days in June - if we are allowed we will go but I’m thinking probably not:
Week in Devon in August - pretty confident about this one.
We basically just keep booking things in the Hope that at least one will go ahead.

PurBal · 06/02/2021 07:27

Zero. I want to visit family but their borders are likely to remain closed until 2022. Would also like to go away for a night or two before my baby is born in the summer.

IggyAce · 06/02/2021 07:33

None, we won’t be able to afford a holiday unless weddings can go ahead. Several couples supposed to get married this summer are already moving to next year. If restrictions are lifted we might book a cottage for October half term or Christmas.

hellasciously · 06/02/2021 07:34

Holiday booked for June carried over from last year but I don't expect to go.

tigger001 · 06/02/2021 07:41

Last years holiday that was moved twice, but we are doubtful we will be going this year.

Shoxfordian · 06/02/2021 07:43

Booked a cottage in bray and the fat duck for my husband’s birthday in May, thinking it should be ok by then

Roselilly36 · 06/02/2021 07:44

Nothing booked, didn’t have a holiday last year either, I wouldn’t feel confident in booking a holiday overseas at all this year, we will wait till at least 2022 to book, I expect by then holidays will be much more expensive, due to high demand & travel operators needing to cover lost income.

LouLou198 · 06/02/2021 07:47

None! Just cancelled one in this country for half term and holiday abroad that was planned for July (moved from last July). I've got refunds for both, I won't be booking anything else. Sick of cancelling things and reigned to the fact we probably won't have a holiday this year.

Jessica60 · 06/02/2021 07:48

Not much point. Even if you can go away there will be restrictions in pools , restaurants, mask wearing, crowded beaches, rain, queues . Next year looks promising.

yearinyearout · 06/02/2021 07:50

Just a uk cottage break that got postponed from last year in may. I'll be happy to go abroad as soon as we are allowed to so hope to book something later in the year.

winetime89 · 06/02/2021 07:56

I have Ibiza booked in June, and camping booked in August. not booked any more yet. will most likely change the June one before the rest of the money is due- I live in hope though!

Picklesbaby · 06/02/2021 08:00

3 weeks in Portugal in June 🤣🤣rebooked from last year , won’t bother rebooking again just get a refund I think !
Our 2 Weeks Uk break In September may be the closest we get to the seaside lol

Bubbinsmakesthree · 06/02/2021 08:05

A week in N Yorks booked for school hols . Think I will book a camping weekend or two closer to home as well.

I actually enjoy a UK holiday (esp with small DC) so don’t see it as second rate to getting abroad.

HateLife21 · 06/02/2021 08:11

@RoseMartha

Nothing But would like to book a week away in August if there are any cheap uk breaks left.
Good luck with that. Cheap UK holidays in August are unlikely at the best of times, if people are able to holiday around the UK this summer I'd think it would be impossible 😫
user86386427 · 06/02/2021 08:18

Greece in summer holidays, booked before Covid as we got a deal Jan 2020! We have annual rolling insurance. I'm worried we won't have the vaccine or we're going to have to pay stupid money for tests. We need to rebook Florida but don't see USA happening anytime soon so took the refund and waiting until the year unfolds to hopefully rebook for 2022.
