I’m getting fed up of this now! What have you booked and are you expecting to go?

We are considering a holiday rental but don’t want to get our hopes up. Also don’t particularly want to be on a mobbed beach if we have a hot summer!

We've booked a lodge in August. Quiet location, no shared facilities (pool/restaurants etc). So assuming we're allowed to travel then it'll be fine. We were contemplating a weekend in London but will hold out before we book that one!

FavPh0t0 · 05/02/2021 20:51

Holiday from last year in UK postponed
It's been moved to September this year
But it is due mixture of people, so the date may move again

Godimabitch · 05/02/2021 20:55

We've got Scotland boomed in March, unlikely to go ahead as Scottish borders are closed.
Got centre parks in September, probably will go ahead.

We're not booking anything abroad, not worth committing and we dont know what te situation will be with being allowed to fly/enter other countries. We have a baby on the way though so realistically wouldn't be able to go abroad anyway.

Have a week in July in an apartment in Looe, Cornwall moved from last year. Thinking of cancelling as our old dog has been ill on and off so don't want to put him in kennels. Are looking at taking our caravan up the West Coast of Scotland instead. Self contained in our own bubble so no need to use shared facilities.

Montsti · 05/02/2021 20:57

I’m not in the UK so unfortunately cannot see my family there in the near future (might be 2 years before I see them 🥲). We usually visit the UK in June/July every year but missed last year obviously ...we have booked to stay in South Africa where we live and go on safari at Easter and then do a beach holiday in another province in June/July. We have a postponed Mauritius holiday for end September but are thinking that that’s unlikely...let’s see...

I’d be happy to go anywhere at this stage but appreciate that we’re not likely to go overseas this year..

NeverForgetYourDreams · 05/02/2021 20:58

Last years holidays moved to this year.

DeeCeeCherry · 05/02/2021 21:00

A week in Spain in July visiting family friends, then South America in October. Fully accept it may not happen but I'd rather be optimistic than pessimistic

LilyE1234 · 05/02/2021 21:01

We have a wedding in France in august that was rolled over from last year. All fully refundable so just a case of sitting tight

thenightsky · 05/02/2021 21:01

@DazedandConcerned I've had my first vaccine too. Which hotels are you thinking of? I've always stuck with Fort Arabesque or Resta Reef in Marsa Alam (new name now I think). My favourite place was Taba Heights but that's long gone now. Sad

LilyE1234 · 05/02/2021 21:02

Also just booked Canada for New Year to see family 🤞 flights were super cheap and flexible so thought why not

Floridaflipflops · 05/02/2021 21:02

Dubai at Christmas, every single night when I get in bed I think about it ...

Trenisenne · 05/02/2021 21:05

Skiing for Feb half term (we are not in the uk!). And beyond that, nothing. Am just hoping that we can come back to the uk in the summer - I haven't seen my family in over a year, and my dad has dementia. Maybe europa park for a long weekend in September...

TheVelvetiser · 05/02/2021 21:07

Northumberland booked for end of May - not optimistic. Two weeks in Cornwall booked for August - reasonably optimistic. Austria (Chalet School pilgrimage) booked for October, moved from last year and convinced it won't happen. It's been a dream for ages so quite sad at the thought it might not happen.

HmmSureJan · 05/02/2021 21:07

@Floridaflipflops

Dubai at Christmas, every single night when I get in bed I think about it ...
It gets bad press on here but I love Dubai, also Abu Dhabi is fab too and often cheaper Smile
DazedandConcerned · 05/02/2021 21:09

@thenightsky we’re at Tropitel Sahl Hasheesh in May - it has its own deep water reef accessible by a long jetty. In July and September up at Titanic Royal near Senzo Mall. It’s new and their swim up rooms are really reasonably priced! In December we’ll be back to Sunrise Royal Makadi which is our usual haunt (next door to the Fort).

Some really nice hotels out in Hurghada. Still want to try Desert Rose even though their beach is shallow the lagoon looks lovely.

whatkatydid2013 · 05/02/2021 21:12

We have a cottage booked near Bristol last week of August and weekends in Glasgow and London for May/October. I’m doubtful we will get in May but hoping the others might work out. All are cancellable pretty close to the date so we will do that if needs be. We’ve also booked an all inclusive thing in the Canaries for next year.

maddiemookins16mum · 05/02/2021 21:12

Have booked a lovely cottage in The Cotswolds for September. Have kept back 10 days for Nov/Dec when I hope to get on a plane too - maybe Lanzarote then, will book later in the year.

Therarestone · 05/02/2021 21:12

Week in April, week in June, week in July and week November.

All UK.

March not sure, the rest feeling hopeful.

dillydallydollydaydream7 · 05/02/2021 21:22

Parents have a holiday cottage booked for May and September for 2 weeks (they go every year) - middle of nowhere, so we always go up overnight.

Caravan booked for July (rearranged from last April when it was cancelled with Covid) hoping this will go ahead as we went last September (Haven) and it was a 'hideaway' holiday - caravan open on arrival, everywhere closed, make your own fun, and we loved it.

Fingers crossed these happen this year

Dyra · 05/02/2021 21:25

Supposed to be going to Norfolk at the end of March. Pressurised into doing so by highly optimistic family. I'm about as hopeful about it going ahead now as I was when we booked it. Which is to say not at all. At least it's got a guarantee we get our money back if Covid rules prevent us from going.

Beyond that, nothing. If things get better, we'll try to get away later in the year so my grandparents can meet my baby for the second time. She was 6 weeks old the first time. She's 17 months now....

HintOfVintagePink · 05/02/2021 21:25

Butlins and Center Parcs and possibly a week somewhere in the summer holidays. Cannot wait

Cornishclio · 05/02/2021 21:27

Holiday Cottage in April to visit family (not sure if that is going to come off) and a CP holiday in June (rearranged from last year) and a month in Canada in September (rearranged from 2020 so not sure that will go ahead either)

MissCalamity · 05/02/2021 21:36

Booked a weekend lodge trip away with my friends at the end of March back in last September when things appeared to be better. Just waiting for this to be cancelled.

Our re-booked family holiday to Spain from last May half term to this year's May half term, not overly confident that this will happen, but you never know. 🤷‍♀️

grapewine · 05/02/2021 21:38

None. And had to cancel last year. I just don't want to book and then have to cancel again. Hopefully, I will be able to go somewhere next year.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 05/02/2021 21:39

None.

If I get to camp in my Dad’s garden (2 1/2 hours drive away) anytime soon for a night I’d be over the moon.
