Mr tumble drama

So old CBeebies presenter (Sarah-Jane if anyone remembers the olden days of CBeebies) is in the newspapers saying she was best friends with mr tumble but he completely ghosted her after cbeebies sacked her (without even letting her know) when she did an underwear photo for animal rights.
Now mr tumbles mum is in the papers saying its a load of rubbish.
I used to see a lot of CBeebies back then and realised I never noticed that Sarah-Jane disappeared or read about this at the time.
AIBU to think they were a bit harsh and that mr tumble shouldn’t have ignored her?

There was a photo from some Eastern European newspaper which looked the spit of Mr Tumble. OP posted it as a joke rather than a genuine claim to have shagged him (if that's the one you mean). That OP was female, but he is indeed gay.

He's appeared on a few of the unusual crush threads over the years.

Presumably it was Justin Fletcher rather than Mr Tumble?

I assumed he was asexual to be honest, something like the comedy-stereotype bloke who permanently lives with his parents, is only interested in pension reports and what's new in M&S and gets queasy when women speak to him.

Mr. Tumble has always given me the creeps to be honest. As for doing a vegan stunt for PETA, anyone who gets involved with that weird lot has got to take it on the chin when it backfires.

@VainAbigail it’s a long time ago now so my memory might be skew but he was ok with them I think, maybe not as nice to them as the kids, but not the same level of distance we got!

Have not RTFT yet but just popped on here excitedly to say that a guy I once worked who claimed to have had a ONS with her in her heyday and said she should never have been a kids’ tv presenter because she was ‘filth’ (his words and said in a complementary rather then derogatory way. Absolutely no judgement from me - fair play to her! Just pleased I can add a bit of gossip to the thread!)

I remember realising Archie from Ballamory was Miles Jupp and that he wasn't gay.

That first article calls Tikkabilla "Tinkerbella". Outrageous.
I had a bit of a crush on Paul and Beverley on that.

Though I do also recall him saying she was a really pious, annoying vegan too (sorry vegans) so that all adds up and adds some veracity to his claims...

I've always thought Mr Tumble must be a bit like Krusty the Klown when he's offstage.

Aw, I was thinking of a different Sarah-Jane, from the Sarah-Jane adventures. She wouldn't even have known Mr Tumble.

He’s the voice of jake but not in the costume. That’s the creepy thing about the Tweenies is that the voiceover is done AFTER. So when you watch it they’re all actually just there silently acting out the scenes.

Am I the only one who clicked on this thread hoping to learn of a serious, moody Mr. Tumble spinoff drama series?

I voted YABU because you never know the full story. They might not have been close at all anyway. She might not have contacted him either. Do you keep in touch with all your old colleagues? I don't! I hope they don't mind... Well I'm sure they don't because they're not calling me either.

I can’t say I’ve seen any of this but I have met Mr Tumble when I was in hospital about 9 years ago on a children’s ward where they were filming.
Absolute arrogant knob. Kept asking us to move, ordering us around etc etc bearing in mind I was waiting for surgery!

The interesting thing about Miles Jupp is although he is married with several children - he usually seems to "play" being gay. Often in the closet/repressed, he's a bit type cast that way.

I forgot who Sarah Jane was but having seen the photo now I remember her. Wasn't she really annoying very bendy? (A contortionist?)

I remember the Mr Tumbles threads of yore. Someone definitely said their friend had slept with him.

Do we think the papers paid Sarah-Jane for these stories? Because I can't think of any other reason for her to be talking about something that happened ten years ago.
