Mr tumble drama

So old CBeebies presenter (Sarah-Jane if anyone remembers the olden days of CBeebies) is in the newspapers saying she was best friends with mr tumble but he completely ghosted her after cbeebies sacked her (without even letting her know) when she did an underwear photo for animal rights.
Now mr tumbles mum is in the papers saying its a load of rubbish.
I used to see a lot of CBeebies back then and realised I never noticed that Sarah-Jane disappeared or read about this at the time.
AIBU to think they were a bit harsh and that mr tumble shouldn’t have ignored her?

I just love that Mr Tumble's mum has addressed this on his behalf.

To be honest though, when you're a children's TV presenter being photographed naked in the street and in a wet t shirt with coke spilling down your boobs is probably not the best idea. Mr Tumble was probably mortified

To be honest, Mr Tumble has become rather... comfortable in the past few years. His waistcoat looks like it's on the verge of giving us a flash of man-boob as it is. Wouldn't get him fired though, Mr Tumble is the Schofield of Cbeebies.....

I cannot believe his mum defended him though, is there a link?

I hope Mr Tumble's mum is Gale Force. She's my favourite.

Sounds like they weren't actually best friends, she was just a work friend, how come this is relevant now days?

She was spectacularly naive to think she could pose for those photos and think that the bbc bosses would think was ok.

I saw Mr Tumble at Camp Bestival and he came across as a bit of a nob to be honest.

I read the story hoping to see her looking like this. Sadly there was no photo Grin

In answer to the op, well his mum said he didn't ghost her so who knows. She undressed as part of a protest against meat eating so I would think it might have been the public airing of her personal views that caused a problem with bbc, they probably have rules in their contracts? She's also done interviews discussing her previous cocaine use, which isn't great for a children's presenter. I don't blame Justin for cutting ties tbh.

I maybe imagining this but wasn't there a very rude photo going round of Mr Tumble doing something entirely inappropriate to a car exhaust Confused. So surely he was in no position to judge anyone.

Didn't someone on here shag Mr Tumble years ago? It must have been posted about 10 years ago.. maybe I'm mixing up my MN historical knowledge. I can't even remember if they said he was any good or not. Damn.. I've been here years Shock

So you are saying that he should speak to her so that she can use that to make more money?

Sounds like he knew what she was about and decided that, whatever their friendship was, it wasn't worth it.

It looks like she's got a theatre school to promote. I can only think that's why she's telling the story now. To be fair to her, she does say that he had a brand to protect so she understood why he cut contact. It's a bit of a non-story really. Blatant self-promotion.

Thank goodness someone else remembers and it's not just me being demented. Someone also revealed that Mr Bloom was actually really posh and up himself and that his earthy Yorkshire ways were contrived - that upset me more so I remembered it better Grin
