To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

Global warming is a fraud. The climate changes in cycles and if you actually look at the data you will see that we are heading into a grand solar minimum and that temperatures are going to drop significantly. Not a conspiracy but fact, however if you try to voice this you will very quickly get shut down.

I don't believe that the 9/11 bombings were the work of OBL. I think it was the US government to get public backup for the war on Iraq (which was really about oil).

I also don't believe the JFK assassination was Lee Harvey Oswald acting alone. Or that Jack Ruby just coincidentally managed to assasinate him on live TV.

Marilyn Monroe's death is another that gets me. I dont believe that was suicide. Neither was Harvey Epstein

I wouldn't even say the cosmonaut one was conspiracy, it's almost certain that's true ... look at the dogs and monkeys they sent .

I absolutely believe that there are aliens. I don’t believe that they’re little green men so to speak but I think that it’s not possible that out of the whole universe ours is the only one with intelligent life.

@JesusInTheCabbageVan I'm not totally sure what you mean, but the climate is cyclic, from ice ages to global warming, everything runs on cycles. Humans have no impact on this.

JFK is dodgy as fuck. I think Lee H O fired the shot ( it was bloody unbelivable shooting but he was ex marines) but was involved with some US government cell who convinced him they were KGB.

My husband is obsessed with jfk. We were due to go to Dallas his year 😕 He would totally agree with you.

How strange that people think Myra Hindley got out of jail. I said years ago that I thought I’d met her when I was on holiday. You know how you look at someone and think ... that’s such and such? Well that’s what happened to me, only I thought the person I’d seen was Myra Hindley.

I spent some time looking into the Avril Lavigne conspiracy, and I thought that might have some truth in it

I worked as a project lead in tech product development for a while.

Trying to ensure that 20 developers kept their mouths shut was hard enough: how on earth people convince themselves that hundreds, possibly 1000s, of people can be persuaded to keep schtum is a mystery unto itself.

But maybe only the people at the very top know the truth. Everyone else thinks they're working on something completely different.

That whole story makes me cry. I know the whole day was full of tragedy and heroism but the recordings of the passengers debating what to do and deciding that they had to at least try and sieze the plane

It certainly is not "fact." Every single piece of evidence proves that human impact on climate change has been substantial, over and above the usual cyclic fluctuations.

Climate change denial is 100% conspiracy theory pushed by a tiny number of gullible non-scientists who have been manipulated by powerful and influential figures within major power companies, who have an agenda to push anti-science conspiracy theories.
