To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

It didn't really happen in the full glare of the world's press because it was 1997 and there wasn't so much 24 hr news. Family in North America heard she'd been injured (but was alive) whereas in the UK we heard she'd actually died in the crash. This is fact. I've managed to find a copy of CNN news from the early hours of the crash - it backs up that she was reported as injured (compared to Dodi) during the early reports in N America.

So Diana didn't necessarily die in the crash and not many people know this. How or why and whose orders I've no idea!

The first bbc breaking news report late that night also stated that she’d been injured though - you can find it on YouTube. I thought everyone knew she didn’t actually die in the crash (as in, didn’t die instantly but was alive when paramedics were there).

All US elections of this century. Especially the last couple, I'm certain Trump didn't win in 2016 but probably did win in 2020 (so I guess it balances out). The Obama wins were just the trade off for allowing the Bush wins.

Also the McCann case. There's a lot more going on than has come out and it's interesting that the police are yet to make a proper scapegoat. Children don't just disappear without at trace and I don't think it could have been done by a lone individual.

Oh and Stephen Fry of course. The truth will come out eventually.

I believe aliens exist and have interfered in one form or another during our evolution.

Pizzagate- can't bring myself to believe such things could happen although I know it does
Titanic- another tragedy, no CT
JonBenet- Dad did it, no CT, just crap police work as they were white, middle class and a respected family

And if the unfortunate Princess had intentionally killed herself, there would be an abundance of conspiracy theories 'proving' she'd been murdered by dark forces. Facts are mundane and everyday. Secrecy and plotting so much more interesting. RIP Dr David Kelly though. Very sad.

Hitler was also allowed to live out the rest of his life in the USA with a body guard till he died.

Where so many of these theories fall down (aside from lack of evidence of course) is motive. Why, if the Americans had hitler alive, wouldn’t they just shoot him and save themselves the bother.

What’s the link with Jill Dando and duchess of Cambridge? Other than Jill was engaged to one of the doctors who delivered Kates children? And the tragedy someone spoke of earlier with the link to Australia?! Someone tell me I’m so confused

That isn't what a conspiracy theory requires though. It requires multiple people from multiple agencies from multiple walks of life to conspire together to lie for a pre-agreed sinister and hidden reason and no one to ever break cover.

But people do break cover all the time. They are usually A) ignored by MSM B) we’re told they’re vengeful/mentally unstable/drug use by MSM etc.
Of course not all “sources” breaking cover can be trusted, but that’s a different argument.

She doesn't have to have been lying. She was a real flake, it's pretty clear that this was just fantasy.

As said on here, if people really wanted to kill her, they simply would never have done it with a high-profile, easily survivable car crash in a country where they didn't control the police or the health authorities. If they wanted her dead, it would have been child's play to arrange something much more certain and much less likely to attract every amateur sleuth in the world.

One of the HCPs at Catherine’s hospital was prank-called by some Australian DJs and gave out some (fairly innocent) information about how she was doing. She was later found dead by suicide.

As much as I still think Boris is a twit and has for thing monumentally wrong at times I've noticed that Seine Cain and Cummings were sent packing he's changed. He's much more serious at pressers, he's taking it more seriously and not over promising and he's more willing to take lockdown as a solution and make it last.

I remember vividly waking up to see a headline in the Sunday Times saying Diana had been injured and Dodi had been killed. It was only when I turned on the radio that I found out she had died.

I don't think anyone thought she actually died in the crash, did they? It was well documented that the French ambulance crew worked on her at the scene and then took her to hospital, and indeed that that delay may have been a contributory factor. In fact the first line of the Wikipedia entry says she died in hospital.

@MimiDaisy11- I agree about Lockerbie. For years it was said that Syria was behind it, then when politics in the region changed and Syria was being rehabilitated suddenly it was Libya in the frame.

It must be dreadful for the families of those killed, they will never get a straight answer as to why it happened.
