To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

@Meecrowavay

That Mary was a virgin.
*wasn't 🤦🏼‍♀️
MsPeachh · 27/01/2021 23:28

@bottleofbeer

Why can your body tolerate my blood type but others apart from your own would make you very ill?
Because different blood types have different proteins and carbohydrates on the surface of their red blood cells. The immune system “attacks” different blood types because it recognises those molecules on the surface as different from itself and an intruder. Group O don’t have any of these molecules on the surface of their red blood cells so can be given to any other blood type.

@Nomorepies

www.nhs.uk/conditions/rhesus-disease/prevention/

Info on Anti-D and RH-. Concerned the aliens are keen on abducting us negative folk!

Preferably with green eyes, you'll be ok if you have brown!
AngelicaSchuylerAndHerSisters · 27/01/2021 23:29

@Wagsandclaws I thought it had been proven that Brittany Murphy and her husband died from toxic mould in their home.

usedandabusedx1000 · 27/01/2021 23:30

When I started reading this thread I didn’t think I’d be going to sleep tonight questioning my own species!

bottleofbeer · 27/01/2021 23:30

Ok, let's go with same species. Why does the negative mother's body reject the positive foetus without anti d? There has to be a reason for that.

TravellingTilbury · 27/01/2021 23:30

@Weston14

I think there absolutely is a celebrity paedophile ring both stateside and here, and that Epstein was the absolute tip of the iceberg. I also believe that idiots like that moron who claimed loads of historic sex abuse which turned out to be untrue basically did all these people a favour by making everyone look like a crackpot for believing it.

Reading some pps’ posts about the Myra hindley thing sent chills down my spine . I remember the story vaguely can someone remind me

It's interesting you mention the guy that claimed to have suffered historic sex abuse (Carl something?) because my thoughts changed on this over time. Like you, initially I thought that it was a shame because it let others 'off the hook'. But now I think that this was deliberate (eg maybe a set up/black hat operation or maybe the guy was a genuine victim who had been got at/blackmailed to change his story, I don't know) so that more Westminster abuse cases wouldn't be investigated.
TravellingTilbury · 27/01/2021 23:32

Oh and gosh and cover ups to do with certain family courts and also satanic ritual abuse (including children). No conspiracy, just dreadful corruption and evil.

squeekums · 27/01/2021 23:32

@marshmallowfluffy

Carole Baskin knows what happened to her ex.
thats no conspiracy thats just fact lol

I believe the US government are not innocent in 911, planes hit, no doubt
How much the US government turned a blind eye or maybe even assisted planning, access, data... thats where it gets interesting for me

Brittany murphy and her husband were murdered, i mean just her yeah could have been just an awful tragedy but his death being the same months later, gets odd for me

Id be more shocked if there was proof aliens were not real
I want ones like nessy and yeti to be real

bottleofbeer · 27/01/2021 23:32

Yes I know the science of why o neg is universal. But science hasn't found out where it comes from yet.

NOTANUM · 27/01/2021 23:32

The Sandy Hook conspiracy theorists are either gullible or have a pro-gun mandate. I've heard podcasts in which the parents spoke about being hounded by these factions. One father couldn't live with his wife and remaining child because the theorists made him the focus of their rage. He had one conspiracy theorist see sense and actually help him fight back online.

It was the one tragedy that could have shook America out of its love affair with guns. When you peddle these theories, you are falling into the hands of the pro-gun lobby in the US.

Londonmummy66 · 27/01/2021 23:33

The Portsmouth Marconi suicides in the late 80s. Very odd that so many people working on MOD projects committed suicide in quite a short space of time in rather strange circumstances.

Keep em coming! Thanks

Evidence here that many MNetters are barking. Very entertaining, though

Absolutely!

Ltdannygreen · 27/01/2021 23:37

I love a Good conspiracy theory, I’m not a nut, I don’t over think the, however they do make you think. I’m open to believe some of them if I hear more about it, not everything is as straight laced as you think it is. Just because someone said something happened, it doesn’t mean it did. Some people are just eager to believe because other explanations seem unexplained and it’s easier to do so or out of fear. A lot of people are unable to believe outside the realms of thier reality.

Furries · 27/01/2021 23:37

@Cattenberg

Anyone heard the weird one that Finland doesn't exist?

No. I went to Finland several years ago ... or so I thought. Where did easyJet really take me?

Probably a couple of countries away given how out of the way their normal “destination” airports are 😂
BiBabbles · 27/01/2021 23:38

Not really a conspiracy I don't think, but I'm not entirely convinced the 4th 9/11 target was the White House. There are large military bases and others that would have fit where Flight 93 was heading before it crashed.

Also, maybe more a hope than anything, but I think there are far more documents from the early Christian church than the Vatican and other Church authories that house documents. lets others have access to. We already know members of the early church edited some of the early texts to make variations match up/line up with that church's ideas at the time compared to others, but I think/hope more of the others are out there somewhere.

It's an interesting idea that ancient interbreeding between 'human' group could cause lingering health issues now...we know about the Neanderthals and Denisovans, likely more we may find -- and the rhesus negative could maybe come from one of them.

As already said, Rhesus blood types was first found in Rhesus monkeys, it didn't come from them.It's also found in cats, dogs, horses as already mentioned, some worms that don't even have red blood cells. It does cause issues in other species I think, I think I've read that it's part of the issue with trying to breed some endangered species like rhinos. Nature is just weird like that - it isn't trying to tell us anything, it just throws shit at the wall, and works with what can reproduce well enough.

GeidiPrimes · 27/01/2021 23:38

Hammonds Isaac Kappy. There was some weird footage of him on the bridge where he sadly jumped on route 66, after he released the Turkish bath video. He named quite a few Hollywood bigwigs during his many rants to the camera. He may well have been psychotic.

Just remembered another one, Tom Hanks is being held captive on a prison ship offshore Australia. There was a photo of him eating breakfast that appeared to have some anomalies in it - water level not at 180*, shadows of bars across the image and some though Tom had written a message in his (suspiciously thickly spread!) vegemite. Weirdly though, I just googled for the photo and it's been vanished off the internet.

SidekickSally · 27/01/2021 23:40

Oh jeez, the rhesus one is hilarious!

Why can't they find the cause of rh-?

Who says “they” can’t? Who’s “they” anyway?
Plenty of research in to the different forms of rhesus deficiency, the genetics, the molecular basis of this syndrome. Why just pick on this to form a conspiracy? Why not 100s of other genetic mutations or immunological defects that need support for the mother to carry the baby to term or for the baby to survive once born? Are these people a different species too?

I love a good conspiracy but this one is pure bollocks.

MsPeachh · 27/01/2021 23:40

@bottleofbeer

Ok, let's go with same species. Why does the negative mother's body reject the positive foetus without anti d? There has to be a reason for that.
Because the negative mother’s immune system doesn’t recognise baby’s rhesus positive cells and her antibodies will attack the foetus. anti-D neutralises any rhesus positive antigens that may have entered the mother's bloodstream and stops her body producing those antibodies.
UnderperformingSeal · 27/01/2021 23:41

@Whatdoyoudowhendemocracyfails
What sold it to me was the evidence from the wreck itself: grey undercoat exposed on the hull, which was used on Olympic but not Titanic; a propeller originally assigned to Titanic but swapped onto Olympic when it broke one in one of the accidents; and a couple of the name letters on the bow have apparently fallen off (suspicious in itself because White Star ships always had the letters engraved into the plating) to reveal an engraved "M" and "P"!

Ltdannygreen · 27/01/2021 23:42

I also think there’s way more to the story of Malaysia flight mh370....
I’m not sure about aliens however I’m intrigued to see what us are hiding at Area 51... I hear they get sketchy if people go within a 10 mile radius of the place.

bottleofbeer · 27/01/2021 23:42

Who says they can't? Science. It's easily googlable.

It is not known how or why some people don't have the protein.

Fuckingcrustybread · 27/01/2021 23:43

Dr David Kelly did not commit suicide, neither did Brian Epstein. If Diana, Princess of Wales was murdered it would have been a much cleaner job with no room for doubt.
