To ask what conspiracy theories you actually believe are true?

Following on from the thread where OP was looking for conspiracy theories for her kids to look at, I was wondering whether anyone actually believes any of the outlandish conspiracies.

We’ve all read about how people believe that Elvis didn’t die/Paul McCartney did die/the royals are all lizards/the earth is flat. But I’ve never encountered anyone who actually believes any of them, only people who talk about people who (apparently) believe in them.

So, what conspiracies do you actually believe and why?

Not sure I believe in any.

I believe certain things we are fed a watered down version of events, but I have met people, most of us cannot keep a secret to literally save our own lives!

I'd love to know if @LulaMay17 has any specific quals or whether 'DYOR' only extends to blogs, soundbites and wiki pages.

I'm sorry, but there is clear evidence that it did and to say otherwise is disrespectful to the 185 people who lost their lives and the countless others who were injured.

Could you link some of the evidence please (genuine request!)

@user1471565182

JFK is dodgy as fuck. I think Lee H O fired the shot ( it was bloody unbelivable shooting but he was ex marines) but was involved with some US government cell who convinced him they were KGB.
My late OH had a friend who had been in Dallas on that day, he said that no-one believed that there hadn't been others involved, the atmosphere in Dallas had been toxic in the weeks before the visit.
iailwfsaidc · 27/01/2021 22:12

Dr. David Kelly did not commit suicide.

Diana's death was not an accident.

rosetylersbiggun · 27/01/2021 22:12

I honestly don't know anyone who believes David Kelly killed himself.

I think the Diana being pregnant rumour was started by Al Fayed. The autopsy result said she wasn't pregnant, and one of her friends said she definitely wasn't pregnant - iirc told some story about lending her a tampon right before she died or something.

SunshineXX1 · 27/01/2021 22:12

David Kelly was not a suicide.

The spy in the sports bag was not a sex game that went wrong - he was murdered by security forces.

All those financiers (including poor Trinny’s ex-husband) that committed suicide by jumping over balconies were definitely pushed.

Diana wasn’t meant to die in that crash, but Dodi definitely was. The week before she died the papers were full of an exclusive story she was going to announce that weekend. Think the security forces panicked that she was marrying him, or was pregnant. We’ve never been told what the press exclusive was, but the TV ads prior to running the story were definitely shown.

Epstein was not a suicide.

Joshua Molnar, who killed the Manchester Grammar School schoolboy but was then acquitted, is “protected” by a Northern crime family.

Furries · 27/01/2021 22:13

Dr David Kelly
Epstein
JFK?
Jill Dando?

The first two are my main ones. Where I really believe there were large cover-ups. The second two, I’m not sure either way.

Diana - I think this really does boil down to a very sad series of events. Constantly hounded by the press through her adult life and that’s how things sadly ended.

Re 9/11 - the thing I’ve never been able to square off in my head is the same as others here. Which is all of the footage of the Pentagon. Nothing about it looks like it’s been hit by a large plane.

Megan - I haven’t heard this one before. I’m not a mum. But TBF, I don’t really care. Maybe true/maybe not. Living in the public eye like that, who knows how things would have been spun if there was a surrogate. So, as much as she somehow manages to irk me for some reason, not giving headspace to this (nor to anyone else, famous or not, who may or may not go down this route).

Brittney Murphy - at the time, found the story of her and her husband really sad, but had forgotten until reminded on here, so may look at again.

As a couple of pp have said, the Mandela Effect is really interesting. From memory, the one involving the Statue of Liberty was a good one. Going to read up on it again.

Weston14 · 27/01/2021 22:14

@SunshineXX1 could you expand a bit on the Manchester grammar one please I know the case but not the conspiracy

itsgettingweird · 27/01/2021 22:14

@Michaelschofield

JFK was murdered as he was about to expose the Rothschild/Rockefeller elite’s plan for new world order. Explosives were put under the WTC , it was an inside government job. Diana as pregnant with Dodi’s baby, and Diana knew about the Royal family’s connection to paedophile rings. Jill Dando was also murdered as she was about to expose the paedophile rings in the BBC
I've always believed that about Jill Dando too.

And yes it's possible Diana knew about Prince Andrew

hansgrueber · 27/01/2021 22:14

@DisgruntledPelican

I love love love the theory that Diana’s death was predicted in Morrissey lyrics
Not Nostradamus then?

This whole thread is an embarrassment to Mumsnet.

itsgettingweird · 27/01/2021 22:16

I knew there were 50 states.

I'm sure the flag has 50 stars to represent that? Or am I now making things up?! 🤣

TiersForFears1 · 27/01/2021 22:16

Robin Cook's death was 'assisted'.

The flag does have 50 stars, one for each state.

The dodgiest bit was the police launched a huge manhunt immediately - just because he had gone out for a walk and had been gone for an hour or 2. Oh - and they knew exactly where to find him. This was still mid afternoon as I recall

You try calling the police one Sunday and say that a sane adult has gone for a walk and has been out 20 minutes longer than usual. Police have no duty to search for adults if no suspicious circs - and I doubt they would.

Though, now they might launch a search to issue a covid fine - but that wasn't a thing back then

Viviennemary · 27/01/2021 22:17

Nobody landed or walked on the moon.

hansgrueber · 27/01/2021 22:18

@prawncocktailpringles

I thought maybe my assumption that there were 52 states was because I knew two were added (Hawai and Alaska?) and in my mind added them onto the 50 rather than realising they were included in the 50. Is that a reasonable explanation?
I've never heard of anyone thinking there are 52 states before reading these posts!
kursaalflyer · 27/01/2021 22:18

Yes the main crisps when I was a child in the 60s were Golden Wonder, Smiths and KP and they all had S&V in blue and C&O in green. When Walkers took off they were the only main brand to do the reverse.

With the 52 states thing we learned that Alaska and Hawaii were two additions to the contiguous states. There were 48 then the new two states made 50. Maybe sub-consciously people added the two to 50 not realising they had already been added in?

Definitely Oswald was a patsy, would love to know the truth about JFK. All other conspiracy stuff is bollocks.
@SunshineXX1 could you expand a bit on the Manchester grammar one please I know the case but not the conspiracy
Yeah, I've not heard that either. I said at the start his parents know people in high places. The whole case was corrupt.

RhubarbTea · 27/01/2021 22:18

Some high up people knew about 9/11 ahead of time and did nothing.
Dr David Kelly didn't kill himself.
The moon landing happening just doesn't sit right with me somehow.
The Queen and Putin both died a while ago and they each have stand ins operating as them.
Kate isn't the bio mum of her kids but they look so like William, so I'm guessing they used a surrogate or donor eggs as she wasn't able to conceive.
That video of Meghan is amazing, I'd seen it before but forgotten it. The people she's talking to clearly hear the pop sounds as well and look embarrassed.

bottleofbeer · 27/01/2021 22:20

There is more than one species of human. Why do rhesus negative women need anti d injections to stop them rejecting a baby?

Doesn't happen in the animal world. They're not naturally supposed to have babies with rhesus positive men.

SunshineXX1 · 27/01/2021 22:21

@Weston14 Ask any Mancunian or Scouse cab driver.

BeautifulStar · 27/01/2021 22:22

Joshua Molnar, who killed the Manchester Grammar School schoolboy but was then acquitted, is “protected” by a Northern crime family.

Well, I can believe that - there was no way on earth he should’ve got away with that. I seem to remember Molnar and the other boy (the other boy probably in fear) said that Yousef had a knife too but there was absolutely no evidence of this and one was never found.
Evil little shit.
