Inspired by the white bag thread, it just got me curious. I’m not a journo! Although, I suppose that’s what a journalist would say.. Grin

Have you / do you take drugs? What did you take and why did you?

I’ll be honest and go first, I occassinally use MDMA and I do use coke on nights. But I don’t have kids and I’d stop as soon as I was having them

Name changed for this

I use Xanax, Valium, tramadol, nitrazepam and klonopin.

Helps with my anxiety and weirdly makes me more productive.

greyballoo · 28/01/2021 01:25

@DrugUse56688 are they all prescribed drugs? How did they work, do you still take them? X

RonaldMcDonald · 28/01/2021 01:26

I used to - mdma, coke, weed, mushrooms.
I would feel like Patsy from Ab Fab if I did now. Friends still do but I feel tragic if tempted

Please don't promote this as a good choice.
GeidiPrimes · 28/01/2021 01:28

There are many mitigating factors there though for the increase What would you say these are? (that's a funny UN for somebody with an anti-drugs stance Grin)

I don't know what that means .it was based on a thread on here.

Il get back to you tomorrow. Don't want to wind up my brain Grin

DrugUse56688 · 28/01/2021 01:29

grey I use dealers and purchase them in bulk, it’s the easiest and cheapest way to get them.

To look at me you wouldn’t think I was an addict; I hold down a job, my house is immaculate, my children are well looked after, I’m fairly well off- I just have uncontrollable anxiety that no doctor has been able to fix 🤷🏻‍♀️

DrugUse56688 · 28/01/2021 01:31

Rooty I’m not sure where I’m promoting it... I just answered the question like everyone else. Of course I wouldn’t recommend it.

greyballoo · 28/01/2021 02:21

@RootyT00t it's not promoting it's showing other peoples experiences. Can be more helpful than everyone else just stating they have never taken anything and hate anyone who has.

Xanax is a terrible drug. You can have seizures. Please try to wean yourself off it. It is not the answer.

Nobody has said they hate anyone who has.

The fact you have said it's good for your anxiety and your house is immaculate etc and people are now asking where and how you get it suggests you're saying it's a good thing, imo.
DrugUse56688 · 28/01/2021 11:14

I’m not promoting it- people asked me questions, I answered, and I gave reasons why I use it. That’s not promotion, it’s just the truth.

I don’t see people going on about cocaine causing heart attacks or the dangers of ecstasy yet we’re all allowed to laugh about those drugs on here

Hmm

I didn’t ask for unsolicited medical advice, but thank you.

JoyIsCounterfeit · 28/01/2021 12:29

I smoke heroin.
Never used a needle, never will.
It was introduced to me during my experience of pain so severe I was suicidal. Degenerative vertebrae: disc burst, neural nerve trapped. Hospital jnr orthopaedic told me it was in my mind and offered acupuncture.
A private mri scan & consultant saved my life by identifying the damage & operating. But the damage sustained during the NHS to private years, leaves me with permanent pain & the damage continues to degrade.
Morality laws would put me in jail as a self-medicator. Morality laws criminalise unjustly.
The State's condoned national drug of choice is alcohol, which is far more damaging than most of the currently illegal substances.
You would not know i am an addict. Few do. I stop when im not at home. I stop every few years at home. To exert a kind of control!
Confront your prejudice, question the morality laws. Education is the key. Real teaching, not the scaremongering that currently stalks classrooms.
I'm not suggesting everyone takes drugs, making them legal does not create a rush to consume.
I never imagined I'd touch heroin. But at 30, it was the difference between life & death, and remains a consistent prop to keep me functioning.
Drugs are personal, the moral stance of the law is ultimate hypocrisy: centuries of power play created the schedules of banned. Even my legal, prescribed painkiller is now on the controlled schedule cos some people apparently found they enjoyed it.
No pleasure! Get to work. You have no intrinsic value to the state.

HeronLanyon · 28/01/2021 12:49

joyls interesting. I know when I had quite a bit of morphine once (in hosp) how extraordinarily effective it was for pain relief. Just gone. What worried me was the euphoria which replaced the pain and I knew then why heroin addiction is so ‘easy’ to fall into. Thankful I don’t have a chronic pain issue to deal with such as yours. If I did who knows what I would do . .
Support.

JoyIsCounterfeit · 28/01/2021 12:51

@DrugUse56688
Thank you for your honesty.
Morality & superiority, narrow horizons: these are the bane of the struggle for humane civilisation.
We are self-medicating, not lawless reprobates.
And why shouldn't people take substances for pleasure? MDMA, LSD microdosing, have proven positive roles in trauma counselling, as well as their documented powers of increasing empathy, and enlightenment.
I hope your distress can be alleviated in the long run. "Anxiety is freedom' - one day, instead of smothering your mind, you will unlock the key to surpassing & controlling your agony. Sensitivity is a double edged gift. Wishing you find the path to peace.

JoyIsCounterfeit · 28/01/2021 13:02

@heronLanyon thank you for emphasising.
I recall enjoying the morphine after my caesarean, very, very much! And never imagined I'd be in such devastating need of relief a few years later.
Morphine euphoria is the top of the opiate pops! Daily, street heroin is less joyful; it allows me to be normal!
Living with permanent pain forces choices you never dreamed of encountering into your reality. I sincerely hope you never arrive in this area of life's journey.
Stay Beautiful;)

JoyIsCounterfeit · 28/01/2021 13:08

*empathising
Auto-carrot 🙄

Frenchdressing · 28/01/2021 13:13

Yep. I get it. Zero judgement. I had morphine after an accident. Amazing drug. Totally see why people want to use opiates.

HeronLanyon · 28/01/2021 13:21

That morphine euphoria directly informed my fear of addiction and rigidity about no personal recreational stuff.
It was helpful for me as I’m at the criminal bar and represent a number who are involved as users - it kind of reset some areas of my understanding. So that was a good effect !!

Chanjer · 28/01/2021 13:50

And make it even more accessible to kids because it's legal?

20+ years ago I used to have a job that took me all over the UK and staying in different towns and villages month to month.

I reckon the longest it's ever taken me to find someone and buy whatever drugs I wanted is a few hours, even in little villages. Now 20 years later you can go on the internet and have it all delivered without even going out

There is no obstacle to scoring so anyone that wants to currently can

Basecamp65 · 28/01/2021 14:57

Yes and they have massively enhanced my life in many ways.

DrugUse56688 · 28/01/2021 15:14

joyls thanks for your honesty and candidness.

I know people think differently about any drug use, and some drugs seem more ‘acceptable’ than others (as you can see in this thread it’s ok to dabble coke or e’s or Mandy but you mention other drugs and people freak out. Oh well).

There’s no promotion from me. I’m not saying ‘do this and you’ll feel great too!’ I’m relaying my own personal experience, nothing more.

79andnotout · 28/01/2021 17:37

My best friend had terminal cancer and was in a lot of pain, so she had multiple types of morphine on the go for self medicating. She said the fast release stuff just absolutely knocks your socks off. Seriously addictive and her mouth would start watering for it. She offered me some but I thought no way!
