Katie Hopkins + M Taylor Greene, God how vile. That much evil, gas, and hot air in a room should equal spontaneous combustion.

On the down side, my 98 year old mother has tested positive for Covid. She's in a memory care facility with advanced dementia. Families are not allowed in so I can't see her, but so far she's asymptomatic. They'd kept Covid out of the facility for 10 months, but had one of the residents test positive 3 days ago. I'm not sure how many are positive now.

They'd been trying to get someone to come in and vaccinate everyone for a month now but our (red) county is way behind the curve. If fucking Doofus had done his fucking job this most likely wouldn't have happened.

We're just thankful that it's a wonderful facility with very caring staff.

Oh how worrying for you Across. But good news that she's asymptomatic so far.

Across sorry to hear about your DM. DH's parents (93 and 92 and living in their own home) are in NJ and are also still waiting for their vaccine appointment. It's a blue county and they've started vaccinations but it seems somewhat random as to where (and how many different places) you register to get it. DH is very frustrated for them as he has heard from friends (60s) who have have got vaccinated by registering and driving to vaccination locations in red counties nearby! Theit theory was that there were more anti-vaxxers in the Republican areas so more vaccines available.

I'm assuming Doofus's lack of lawyers won't make any difference to the outcome of the impeachment trial seeing as how the Repug Senators have already made their minds up pre-evidence.

They may have already made up their minds, but it’s perhaps a sign that their defence of Trump will be less easy to justify further down the line.

Covid has finally hit my extended family, one my my siblings' home and PIL. The one vaccinated with the first dose is negative so far.

I wonder if ex-45 will still have lawyers by the time of the trial. But I'm sure he could represent himself that the outcome will be the same.

Thinking of you and your families.

Thanks for all the well-wishes, Everyone. It's just a waiting game now. Mum comes from pretty hardy stock and has outlived all her siblings, their spouses, and has lived longer than both her parents. I guess the hard part is that at 98 and with advanced dementia she has no quality of life. It's in God's hands. But that's all subjects for a different thread. I just don't want her to suffer and I know Covid can be really awful.
