To tuck my 10.5 year old in to bed every night?

I’m not! I know that obviously because he wants me to (or rather he doesn’t NOT want me to.... not as though he’d shed a tear or anything if I didn’t Grin but he just sees it as bedtime and I like it.

Just wondering when people stopped doing this and What precipitated the change and was it sudden or drawn out?

He goes to bed, reads his book, I come in, we have a quick chat, I sometimes get to kiss his forehead if I’m lucky, and that’s the process.

Makes me so happy to hear that this continues for ages yet. I also have a 10.5yo boy, who is very affectionate and likes a cuddle and a chat at bedtime and I’m glad to hear that I probably have a few years of it yet.

Oh god, I’m 23 with my own toddler and my mum still gives me a kiss goodnight when I stay over hers. I have found this extremely comforting as an adult where sometimes life seems so hard. As a teen we weren’t close but we became close again as I got older and I had my son. Now, just that little reminder of affection beings me so much comfort and I feel so lucky to have my mum. I still need my mum!

I still go in and hug and kiss my 13 and 14 yo every night. Usually we have a little chat about the day or what’s happening tomorrow.

9 year old DD goes straight to bed and reads and then I get into bed to watch TV. After she finishes reading she comes into bed with me for a chat and a cuddle so she tucks me in!
