Excellent, they can sell two to by crack.

Excellent, they can sell two to buy crack.

They wouldn't be able to buy much - the jam isn't available at the moment, but apparently it retails at 28p per jar. Grin

How far do you think a jar of jam goes? A slice of toast and jam every day for a week doesn’t seem particularly excessive.

Thought of this thread today as my shopping came to just under £15 in Lidl
This is what I got, the yoghurts are a pack of 4, multi pack crisps, 2 packs of ham and the raspberry jam is conserve and 450g...
also my receipt says ham, ass which has made me laugh Grin

M&s are topping up the free school meal voucher with an additional £5 to include breakfast if the voucher is redeemed at its stores.
M&S FSM extra £5 top UP

You know, I love this idea I think it's great. I know people who use it and it's helps them massively but then I also know a close friend who gives her children this daily

Breakfast: toast
Dinner: half a malt loaf
Tea: cabbage, rice and gravy

The kids get that every night. When the kids came here for tea (8 & 5) we did korma, rice, naan and poppadums. They didn't even know how to eat a poppadum until I showed them. That broke my heart to be honest. What can I do about it though? DH has said 'at least they don't know any better' a he has a point I suppose and least they are being fed but even so.

I won't disclose what they eat daily

@AtLastEarwax that's really sad. What are her circumstances that she can't provide variety? There are other veg that is as cheap as cabbage that she could cook. My mil brought up 5 kids on a tight budget, she was very creative with her cooking skills.

Does your friend receive food vouchers or food bank parcels?

Yes but guess who eats that?

Clicketyclick21 · 19/01/2021 22:49

Oh no that is neglectful. Are the social services/schools aware of the neglect?
