Aibu to think Jasmin and Sun Rose shower gel from Molton Brown smell like faeces and urine. Sniffed straight from the bottle, not unpleasant but once foamed all over the body it becomes a whole different olfactory experience. I chucked a buff puff away thinking maybe DH had used it to clean his arse again but it is definitely the shower gel . Can’t even bring myself to sniff my fingers now.

I had a quick look at online reviews for this and they are all fabulous.

Yep to the PP who says you have Covid. Got a £60 Neom candle from my inlaws and thought it smelled like dried beans. No smell the following day and positive covid test the day after.

Jasmine is known to have an indolic (faecal) scent.

I also instantly thought covid. Lots of reports of people smelling faeces with covid.

Jasmine famously smells like poo sometimes. I don’t think it’s your sense of smell. I once heard it described as “like when you go into a toilet cubicle just after a woman wearing heavy floral perfume has had a big shit”.

Sniff other things and see if they smell usual, if not book the covid test

Have you had the flu jab in the last few days? My aunt had that and was convinced the water in her house smelt as you describe for about 72 hours. She had the water company out and everything her son (support bubble) said everything was normal and the water company couldn’t find anything. She tested got a COVID test as a precaution which came back negative so is convinced it was the flu jab that caused it.

Get a COVID test OP. I had it in October and after weeks of no smell I now smell poo everywhere

I’ve bought Milton Brown from the outlet at Biscester and it definitely sneaky different to ones I’d bought in a shop. I am thinking they go off after a while.
