My Molton Brown shower gel smells like poo and worse.

Aibu to think Jasmin and Sun Rose shower gel from Molton Brown smell like faeces and urine. Sniffed straight from the bottle, not unpleasant but once foamed all over the body it becomes a whole different olfactory experience. I chucked a buff puff away thinking maybe DH had used it to clean his arse again but it is definitely the shower gel . Can’t even bring myself to sniff my fingers now.

I can smell if something has Jasmine in and it has always smelled acrid and horrible to me. Maybe your just another person who doesnt get on with jasmine

Apparently if you add real poo to jasmine it cancels out the smell

I've got some L'Occitane rose shower oil which certainly doesn't.

I got a Molton brown gift set for Xmas with loads of mini shower gels in it. I’m going to root it out and see if there’s one in there. I need to smell it now haha

It's just the indoles - also found in decomposing organic matter, including corpses and poop. Some people are nauseated by jasmine because of this.

I liked it. Smelled a bit Chanel 5ish. Quite weak though. Thought it'd be stronger. Didn't remind me of fanjo particularly.

Haha a dear relative has a perfume that smells exactly like strong, stale wee. But only to me. Everyone else thinks it's ok. She's been wearing it for about 20 years and every time she spritzes it on, it reminds me of club toilets at 3am.

Yep, as others have said jasmine is well known for smelling toilety. I don't suffer from this but its very common.

I’m using in my shower at the moment and whilst not my favourite version Milton brown do, I rather like it, no horrid smells for me!

In other news I blew my nose on a new loo roll the other day and it smelt of vomit. Had to Chuck all 4 rolls away. Yuck. Dread to think why.

Jasmine indoles=poo
Anything with Oudh unless it's a microscopic account= even worse than poo
Anything with cumin notes= BO.

This thread is reminding me of the indescribable smell that greeted me on opening my shed door earlier today. There's a sack of potatoes in there, and it appears that some of the ones near the bottom have rotted.

I have tasked DH with sorting it out tomorrow.

A shitty shower is my worst nightmare

My colleague likes jasmine and rose water scents. When she has just spritzed herself I can’t stand near her because I think she has just either shit or pissed herself ... or maybe she has and covering it up?

My neighbour had a jasmine bush that sprawls over our fence (it's beautiful) but when it's in full bloom I always have a day or so of "why does the whole garden smell of fox piss?" Before remembering it's the jasmine (this has been happening for 8 years now).
