We’ve all suffered. Everyone of us to some degree or another. So with all the doom and gloom, I’m trying to think of things that I will really appreciate/look for to when this fucking nightmare is over!!

So here’s my too 4- ‘looking forward to’s’....

Going out for a meal particularly with friends I’ve not physically seen for a long time and giving them a hug.

Going on holiday would love to go back to New York 🗽

Being able to go for coffee with friends

Meeting up for play dates for my LO’s

Just generally being able to do what we want like we used to.

What things are you looking forward to most?

Going into another garden (not been allowed to since July, bar Xmas)
Going to a pub
Going to a gig

LizDiz · 10/01/2021 23:38

Meeting friends , hugging my mum, seeing my nephews and going to the pub in no particular order. I am so sick of this now but can see light at the end of the tunnel.

  1. Being able to have friends and family over again.
  2. Being able to plan and actually go on holidays again.
  3. Gym and swimming pool being open again.
  4. No masks (wear them all day at work and hate them).

Hugging my parents

24HoursInPoliceCustody · 11/01/2021 03:17

I just want my son to have the life he deserves, he has been in shielding for coming up a year, not seen his friends or his dad in that time but that's a whole other thread, but he has not once complained and he is such a settled happy little boy my heart breaks for him.

AmelieTaylor · 11/01/2021 03:53

Not to be so scared of dying of Covid, alone

Not washing shopping, though I still might, but not with the same level of worry.

People not having to work like they are now, with this level of exhaustion & stress (NHSin particulare, but anyone else too)

(I might need to get a T-shirt made with BEWARE OF THE HUGGER on it

HUGS. Great Aunt, DP (we can't see each other due to his job & his DS) family & friends & strangers...

Weeks in a lovely village in France over the summer.

Just planning & living without feeling like it's tempting fate.

Hugging

Seeing DP hugging, taking whilst cuddling & sex. Lots of sex.

Hugging.

Hanging out at my friends houses.

Hugging.

2022 I'm Going to las fallas in Valencia

Hugging.

...did I mention hugging?

Filling my diary - family occasions, meals, visits, events, holidays. Just having something to look forward to.

The next election.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 11/01/2021 04:27

Not wearing a fucking mask
Having friends round for a drink
Going out places with the kids and then going for dinner
Not having to fiddle about with online learning because I'm shut with computers and I just want to cry everytime, it makes me so stressed!

Takemetothebar · 11/01/2021 06:42

Competitions for our hobby/sport- massively social affairs filled with all our friends.

Seeing my remaining living parent. Been separated now since Sept 2019.

Having a diary- with actual events in it!

Going to the office/work functions/meetings in person, I miss my colleagues and I miss the work.

Messy nights with my friends - I only do this a few times a year but my god I need to blow off steam, dance badly and hug them

Play dates with the little ones that turn into coffee fuelled therapy sessions while the kids play

Big family Sunday lunches

Mooching around the shops just for the sake of it

Nonamesavail · 11/01/2021 07:41

Teenagers being able to see friends not be zombies in their rooms.

Going to a library or Costa to study for uni.

Seeing my lovely nan :(

Taking one of my care clients back out again to garden centre or farm cafe.

ivykaty44 · 11/01/2021 07:41

DipSwimSwoosh Libraries are open where we are

Alltheprettyseahorses · 11/01/2021 07:42

Going to the theatre. We went 20 odd times a year and I really miss it.

Holidays. I want to go to Llandudno again.

Days out, like the museums and walking down the Liverpool waterfront.

Not having to wear a mask. They're a right pita, making my glasses steam up if I have to get on the bus or go in a shop when the weather is damp.

ferretface · 11/01/2021 07:44

I can't wait to see my son - only saw him once last year. Having friends over for dinner, going on holiday and eating out.

Sheleg · 11/01/2021 08:21
  1. Going back to Synagogue
  2. Throwing a little party to introduce baby DD to friends and family
  3. Going for a coffee with new friends I met online
  4. Buying baby clothes in a shop and actually seeing/feeling them rather than guessing online

Can't bloody wait!

babyguffingtonstrikesagain · 11/01/2021 08:31

Seeing my parents
Career progression
Going to church
Having loads of people round for dinner

Tumbleweed101 · 11/01/2021 08:48

All the stuff I’ve ever taken for granted such as the choice to travel where ever I want (didn’t do it much due to cost but it’s been hard knowing I can’t).
Seeing friends and going on holiday with them.
Being spontaneous- just pop somewhere for day because we feel like it.
Cinema and restaurants being open - Used to go weekly with a friend.
As others say - no masks! Then I will be able to both breathe and see in the shops again!

Sprockerdilerock · 11/01/2021 09:28
  1. Going to my family place abroad for a week or two. Wandering down the steps in the morning and being at the pool, spending the day reading with the sun on my face. Nice dinners and cocktails in the evening with DH (hoping all our favourite restaurants have survived out there!).

  2. The whole family going round to my mums on a Sunday for a roast chicken dinner. Everyone laughing and drinking wisndand then perhaps a family dog walk to burn it off afterwards.

  3. Going out for dinner with DH. Cant wait to wear something nice and do my makeup!

  4. Going proper shopping for my first baby due in August and hopefully my family being able to meet him/her. (I realise 4 probably renders 1 and 3 more difficult :D )

shouldistop · 11/01/2021 09:30

My 4yo and I going for our wee weekly brunches together.
Being able to take him swimming / soft play.
Being able to take my newborn to some baby groups and enjoy maternity leave.
Going somewhere sunny for 2 weeks.

Dogissue · 11/01/2021 09:32

Charity shops
Going to the pub for crap food and drinks just because why not
Not being so self concious of people while out and about
I personally think masks may be here to stay though.
