We’ve all suffered. Everyone of us to some degree or another. So with all the doom and gloom, I’m trying to think of things that I will really appreciate/look for to when this fucking nightmare is over!!

So here’s my too 4- ‘looking forward to’s’....

Going out for a meal particularly with friends I’ve not physically seen for a long time and giving them a hug.

Going on holiday would love to go back to New York 🗽

Being able to go for coffee with friends

Meeting up for play dates for my LO’s

Just generally being able to do what we want like we used to.

What things are you looking forward to most?

Take up a hobby outside of the house. Swimming, perhaps.
Go on holiday
Take DD to toddler groups, soft play, animal parks, the beach and little bus and train trips (she loves vehicles).
Invite friends over, including DD’s best friend

Seeing my family. I haven't seen any of them for over a year now. But I am glad they are somewhere that is much much safer from covid.
Being able to go home and just hearing my own language and eating all the food and enjoying the nature there.
Going out with friends for drinks and good food.
Going to the theatre.

And many more things...

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 10/01/2021 22:29

Staying with friends or having them to stay
Seeing a play, film, concert, anything!
Travelling freely anywhere
Classes at the gym, especially aquarobics.

babybythesea · 10/01/2021 22:33

Going on holiday with my sister and her family. I miss my nieces and nephews more than I can say.
Seeing Mum and Dad.
Browsing in a bookshop.
Seeing friends for a coffee, or having them over for a natter.

YouBringLightInToADarkPlace · 10/01/2021 22:34

Holidays abroad
Being spontaneous
Family having my kids
Live music events

It's all so hard right now that I almost didn't want to think of them.

babybythesea · 10/01/2021 22:34

And I should add, being with my sisters family also means watching all our kids playing - very close in age and very close bond between them. They all miss each other terribly.

BritWifeinUSA · 10/01/2021 22:34

Going on holiday
Being able to see my mum again
My old pay checks
Cinema

Chimeraforce · 10/01/2021 22:42

No fucking masks

Holiday (U. K first then Turkey, god I miss Turkey).
Pub for a meal. I'd love the screens and tables service to remain. I always felt safe in pubs, they went far to meet All the guidelines but have been hammered.
Having family over for bbqs ❤️🙏

ddl1 · 10/01/2021 22:44

Meeting people without having to worry about social distancing..

Going to the dentist! (yes, really)

Doing the in-person parts of my work - I know I've been very lucky to be able to WFH with technology, and not lose income, but the most enjoyable parts of my job are the in-person ones.

Just not to feel WORRIED all the time!

Spicylolly · 10/01/2021 22:46

Working without a mask on
Seeing family/visiting mum overseas
Going out for dinner
Socialise with my work colleagues

MollyButton · 10/01/2021 22:46

Going to the restaurant 1/2 mile down the road.
Seeing my son, having him visit and doing day trips out with him.
Going on holiday.
Hugging people.

(Will still use my mask in winter - very good for keeping my nose warm, and great to reduce colds.)

TaraRhu · 10/01/2021 22:48

Children going back to school and seeing their friends again

Going back to work and seeing all my friends there

Going to see family who live miles away

caringcarer · 10/01/2021 22:50

Going on holiday for month.
Going to watch DC play cricket every Saturday and Sunday from after Easter until September 14th. Taking out 4 weeks for holidays.
Being able to go and see my dd and dgs's. Only seen them twice in 2020.
Being able to go to spend time with my dear sisters who I miss so much.

minipie · 10/01/2021 22:52
  1. Kids reliably being in school and no constant threat/reality of homeschooling

  2. Feeling able to go back to work due to 1) after overextended career break

  3. DC having a social life. I’ve been ok with WhatsApp and meeting for outdoor coffees (not in lockdown) but the DC have barely had any playdates and it’s been tough on them.

  4. holidays. God I’d love a holiday.

Mumofsend · 10/01/2021 22:55

Holiday.
No masks
Not to hear various phrases such as social distancing, bubbles, flatten the curve, hands face space
Being able to plan things and them actually happen

CalmConfident · 10/01/2021 22:58
  • friends and family in our garden for a big bbq

Mousehole10 · 10/01/2021 23:04

Seeing all my friends and family and them getting to meet my baby
Going for a meal in a pub with friends
Staying in a nice hotel (preferably with spa)
Going on holiday

quarentini · 10/01/2021 23:05

Just doing anything spontaneously
Eating out
Travel
Having people over
Anything spontaneous

SukiPutTheEarlGreyOn · 10/01/2021 23:23

Visiting an art gallery or going to the theatre.
Remembering how to be spontaneous (a night away, stopping off at a pub after a walk, saying ‘do you fancy going to the seaside today?’)
Popping into places, browsing and meandering round bookshops, markets, charity shops and antique centres
Having a cup of tea inside and laughing with my sibs or friends.

At the moment even meeting up with family and friends while sitting outside in the frozen garden would be all kinds of wonderful.
