To look to the future... When we’re back to normal, what 4 things will you look forward to most?

We’ve all suffered. Everyone of us to some degree or another. So with all the doom and gloom, I’m trying to think of things that I will really appreciate/look for to when this fucking nightmare is over!!

So here’s my too 4- ‘looking forward to’s’....

Going out for a meal particularly with friends I’ve not physically seen for a long time and giving them a hug.

Going on holiday would love to go back to New York 🗽

Being able to go for coffee with friends

Meeting up for play dates for my LO’s

Just generally being able to do what we want like we used to.

What things are you looking forward to most?

I am looking forward to getting in my flying car and going to visit Mars, as that's how far away in the future back to normal seems!

Travel

thevassal · 10/01/2021 20:49

Not in order:
Seeing people! Friends, family, colleagues, strangers. Anyone! Ideally at the pub but I'm not fussy!

Travelling - even in the UK at this point. Anywhere that isn't within five miles from my house

Going swimming - my local pool has been closed since March and we're not even allowed to wild swim at the moment. Same for parkrun/iceskating/any exercise more exciting than the bloody daily walk.

See my gran and parents without worrying. Am in a support bubble with their household so have seen them more than friends who have barely seen their family all year but still feel worried every time.

Also didn't quite make the the top 4 but going to museums, seeing a show, and going back to the job I actually signed up for (which involved a lot of travelling and seeing new people) rather than WFH paper-pushing.

ParisJeTAime · 10/01/2021 20:50

Museums, gallery, theatre. All of which require me to take a train to London, so probably won't happen for a while.

Holidays as well.

Randomrebel · 10/01/2021 20:51

Hugging my mam and spending quality time with her not feeling scared.

Seeing the teens enjoying normal things like hanging out with mates, maybe camping, going to parties.

Meeting friends and having a relaxed laid back laugh and a drink coffee or alcohol.

Enjoying a relaxed family holiday away from the house.

Having friends over for drinks and dinner.

DC enjoying all their normal sports and leisure activities.

Not wearing a mask.

No social distancing and being able to browse around shops normally.

I've been fortunate to have been on lovely holidays in 2020 and I am very grateful that they weren't cancelled, but it will so be nice not to have to get Covid tests before travelling and not having to wear masks at the airport and on the plane.
