We’ve all suffered. Everyone of us to some degree or another. So with all the doom and gloom, I’m trying to think of things that I will really appreciate/look for to when this fucking nightmare is over!!

So here’s my too 4- ‘looking forward to’s’....

Going out for a meal particularly with friends I’ve not physically seen for a long time and giving them a hug.

Going on holiday would love to go back to New York 🗽

Being able to go for coffee with friends

Meeting up for play dates for my LO’s

Just generally being able to do what we want like we used to.

What things are you looking forward to most?

Ooh...In no particular order:

  • pubs
  • restaurants
  • visiting family
  • holidays abroad
Terminallysleepdeprived · 10/01/2021 19:37

Going out for dinner and dancing with my friends

Weekend away with dp

Big party for dd and her friends

Having the freedom to do what I want, where I want and when I want.

gettingolderbutcooler · 10/01/2021 19:38

Holiday.
Doing something spontaneous when we're out, like, hey let's go for a meal, or to the seaside!
Dropping in on friends and family.
Bbqs in the garden for everyone.
Kids sleepovers.

AnxiousAlpaca · 10/01/2021 19:38

Going to the gym
Seeing my parents once a week and watching Holby city together
Live music
Seeing friends for dinner nights
Not necessarily in that order

Norwayreally · 10/01/2021 19:41

No masks
No disruption to my DC’s education
Trip to the cinema and/or theatre
Travelling wherever we feel like without the risk of being fined

GreekOddess · 10/01/2021 19:42
  1. Children living normal lives 2)Being able to pick stuff up. We have stuff stored at mil's house that I really want! It's not essential though so no idea when we will ever pick it up. Annoying though as dh could go to her house and pick up the stuff without even seeing her which is less risky than visiting a supermarket.
  2. going on holiday
  3. going out for dinner
SewingWarriorQueen76 · 10/01/2021 19:43

Kids sleepovers. I've done my share of being on the camp bed! & we haven't had a night off since Xmas, 2019
Having friends over/ going to theirs on a random Saturday night with booze.
Fabric shops where you can see the fabric on natural light.
DD restating skateboarding.. She loves it and it takes away the Pre teen grumps.

DontBeShelfish · 10/01/2021 19:44

Taking DD swimming.
Going for dinner with DP.
Getting on a train to visit my family.
Going to gigs with my friends.

funinthesun19 · 10/01/2021 19:44

Oh sorry I have to add this one too..

I’m looking forward to my children having a normal life. Especially when it comes to school. I’m looking forward to them being able to go in every day and having an uninterrupted education. Looking forward to them enjoying lots of exciting school trips and doing lovely school plays. I’m looking forward to being able to go in at parents evening and actually speak to their teachers. I want ds1 (year 5 currently) to have a normal finish when he leaves primary school when year 6 finishes. Leaving assembly and being able to hug his friends etc...

PickAChew · 10/01/2021 19:45

Being able to just hop on a bus and go somewhere.
Hopefully being able to get Ds1 out of the house.
Being able to see my parents
Bring able to see what the hell I'm buying in the supermarket without my glasses steaming up over a fucking mask.

ToffeePennie · 10/01/2021 19:46

Being able to see my family without feeling like a criminal (I do my parents/grandparents and brothers feet but I still feel guilty even though I’m working)

Being able to go out for a meal to celebrate everything we have missed and send the kids to grandparents for a sleepover

Being able to go see our friends who live in wales and actually visit their house again.

Going to the pantomime at Christmas!

Being able to actually act in pantomimes, summer plays and murder mysteries again!

crazychemist · 10/01/2021 19:47

Play dates. The kind where you sit in a garden with a drink. Paddling pool and sandbox out and you sit round the outside watching the kids merrily entertain themselves. Bliss.

Chatting to other mums outside activities. Dear god do I miss that 45 mins on a Saturday morning drinking shop-bought coffee and chatting to other mums about absolutely nothing while DD does ballet.

Church being normal and a lovely time with singing and socialising, rather than the sterile experience it currently is (or was, as it’s now shut again)

School being normal for everyone (family of teachers, so school closure has a huge effect on us as parents and workers)

megletthesecond · 10/01/2021 19:48

Not having to cook every single meal.
Gym classes
Being able to stay with family and therefore not be stuck with my children all the time
Um... not having to cook.

TableFlowerss · 10/01/2021 19:54

Awww so nice seeing all of your posts ☺️ Lots of things to look forward to. Thankfully they have got a vaccine so we’ll be enjoying those things in the bit so distant future hopefully

powershowerforanhour · 10/01/2021 20:29

Smiling at and shaking hands with new clients
Taking my daughter to swimming lessons- she has never been to a swimming pool

Big family get together and barbecue
Going to a big packed house party
Going to the races
Being able to invite people in for a cup of tea when they're passing

Sorry that's 7. I could go on and on... and I'm not even a particularly sociable person.
