To ask what is the most ridiculous thing you’ve been jealous of?

As a child I was ridiculously jealous of my 3 little brothers for being boys! Not the usual sibling jealousy but because they got to wear trousers all the time, even for weddings when I got made to wear a frilly dress. They got the type of trainers I wanted when I was stuck with girly ones. But most of all because they had a willy and got to wee standing up! 😂

I used to put a chapstick in my knickers and say it was my willy, to somehow try and compensate!!

My parents (and brothers) love to remind me about this!

As a kid I was always jealous of anyone’s eye colour which isn’t mine. Haha I have blue but people having green or brown eyes fascinated me for some reason

paddyclamp2 · 09/01/2021 18:53

Anyone who had a Mr Frosty!

MawkishHawk · 09/01/2021 18:56

In Y7 my friend had a really cool bright coloured folder/ring binder from Smiths, and mine my Mum got me was dead boring, and I was wel jel.

After my divorce I was sad I’d never have more children (currently 37 weeks!) At one point I wistfully looked at a couple across from me and a friend in the pub and described them as a lovely happy little family. My friend pointed out the man had tattoos all over his neck and had just given one toddler a pound coin to suck and called the other one a cunt for being jealous if this prize... she gently suggested perhaps envying this woman her husband was a bit self involved!

I was jealous of the kids in school who had asthma, they used to get "special" treatment and go to the nurses room every day for their inhaler Blush

I love blue eyes 😂

I have bog standard dark brown eyes and always wanted blue ones, never liked them up until my son was born, found his brown eyes mesmerising and then realised they are exactly the same as mine and glint orange in the sun.

I was , and still am, jealous of people who can sit down and eat in their kitchen.

DorisDaisyMay · 09/01/2021 19:02

My cousin had a sindy doll with a gold clutch bag. I wanted to steal that little bag so much..but I never did!

thecuriousfox · 09/01/2021 19:03

I wanted to be left handed and was so jealous of the lefties in my class. I used to practice writing with my left hand to try and perfect it and then I could switch. I never mastered it!!

Livpool · 09/01/2021 19:04

When I was a child my friend had a Teddy Ruxpin toy that talked. I tried to take it home 😂

Chicchicchicchiclana · 09/01/2021 19:06

I just don't feel jealous except when I see a John Lewis van doing a home delivery.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 09/01/2021 19:07

So many stupid jealousies when I was at school. The silliest one being envy of another girls tiny size 3 feet. Mine were only 5 and a half but I so wanted size 3. They would have looked ridiculous on me and I'd have toppled over.

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 09/01/2021 19:08

I was jealous at age 5 of a girl in my class who was called Jennifer and had shiny white Mary-Jane shoes, I wanted to be called Jennifer and have shiny white shoes! It was so unfair! Never fully got over it.

Skyliner001 · 09/01/2021 19:08

At 8 I really wanted to be my grandmother's cat, because then I wouldn't have to go to school.

Alittlelessthanuseless · 09/01/2021 19:08

My friend got a ‘a la carte kitchen’ for her 6th birthday. Apparently (according to my mum) I cried so much at her party, when she opened the present, that she had to take me home because I was being sick.
I’d wanted one for ages and I was so pissed off that she got one and I didn’t.

I’m not sure I ever got over it tbh....she added me on Instagram a few months back and I still haven’t accepted her 😂😂😂

I had one of those. I cut the hair in what I thought was a very fashionable style and my mum battered me.
HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 09/01/2021 19:13

@Carysmatthews Lol,the baldy dolly.

RandomPatternedTiles · 09/01/2021 19:14

People who had broken a bone so they were in a cast, I was so envious as a child of the attention they got. I occasionally still feel this way, of which I am ashamed.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 09/01/2021 19:28

Black hair. I was as blond as could be, I longed for long silky black hair. My friend had beautiful long black Italian hair which she always had in plaits. When she came to a Christmas party and it was loose and past her bum I nearly cried. (She told me years later that she hated it and always wanted short neat hair)

Jusu48 · 09/01/2021 19:28

I really really wanted a brace on teeth, nor ever so many around back them, and I wanted auburn hair.

Grapewrath · 09/01/2021 19:33

The child in my class who got biscuits at 2pm because he was diabetic ConfusedBlush

Royalbloo · 09/01/2021 19:34

I really wanted to be called Elizabeth and I also really wanted green eyes

MrsGrindah · 09/01/2021 19:35

All the kids who just ate food and ran around without a thought. I was always fat so on some kind of diet all the time and made to “ exercise” rather than just enjoy being me.
