This is interesting. There were rumblings of this last night... from ABC News. if true, surely it is treason?

Rep. Sherrill claims fellow members led 'reconnaissance' groups through Capitol before riot
Rep. Mikie Sherrill, D-N.J., alleged in a Facebook video on Tuesday that some members of Congress led people through the Capitol on a "reconnaissance" tour of the building one day before Wednesday's riots.

She was not clear which members she saw leading such groups on tour, or whom those groups were composed of.

"And so not only do I intend to see that the president is removed, and never runs for office again and doesn't have access to classified material," she said speaking in support of President Donald Trump's impeachment for his conduct in relation to the riot.

"I also intend to see that those members of Congress who abetted him, those members of Congress who had groups coming through the Capitol on Jan. 5, reconnaissance for the next day. There's members of Congress who incited this violent crowd," Sherrill said.

"I'm going to see they are held accountable, and if necessary, ensure that they don't serve in Congress," she added

Totally agree. The outgoing Chief of Capitol police was interviewed by ITV and said they didn't know even though they were monitoring. I think there's a reason why he is the outgoing Chief.

During a Justice Department briefing, D'Antuono said that while the information could not be attributed to a actual suspect, the information was shared within "40 minutes" with law enforcement partners, including the Joint Terrorism Task Forces, which includes the U.S. Capitol Police, the law enforcement agency that led the failed response

@Roussette - As I said when I linked to the Washington Post article about security earlier, I am shocked that this lack of sharing of intelligence between departments continues 20 years after 9/11 - you'd have thought they would have learned something from that mess.

Ocasio-Cortez says she had a 'close encounter' during Wednesday's assault on the Capitol. And that it's not an exaggeration to say that some of the House were nearly assassinated.
And what is gobsmacking is...
AOC also says that she didn't feel safe going to the safe room and sheltering with other members of Congress, because she felt some of them might disclose her location to rioters and put her in danger

Dongdingdong, you know that "Christianity" thing Trump and his culture warriors like to use as their recruiting bugle?

I know this may come as news, but a key tenet of actual Christianity is "Love thy enemy." Says so in that many words in Matthew 5:44, in the book that nice Mr Trump likes to hold up on telly after teargassing protestors to get to a church as his backdrop.

I appreciate you'd never know this from watching the actions of "Christians" of the type who think Christianity is for controlling women, setting themselves up as the master-race, and behaving like a member of a "tribe" so they can whine that they're being not favoured over persecuted by some other tribe.

But for many real Christians, forgiveness and compassion towards enemies is a real thing.

Just watched The ITV documentary highly recommend it, I'm surprised more people weren't killed.

I have to say it made the US look weak so the weekend events they will need to ensure that they are strong.
