I've just watched his speech at the wall.

There is much to talk about what he said, but what struck me the most, is he seemed to switch from autocue to going off script quite frequently. Which makes him sound rambling.

I suspect he was told to stick to the autocue, pre-written script and dont deviate. But he just couldn't help himself.

It occurs to me that It's possible fewer of the Republican "core voters" are Trumpistas first and Republicans second than we (or the Republican elected Congress and Senate members) may think/fear. 75 million voted for him, but how many actually answered his call to his coup? As many as a million? I don't think I have seen a figure mentioned, but maybe he's not be quite as important as he seems just at present.

A Republican won the Presidency a couple-three times before Trump got involved, after all. The "core vote" were there before he was.
