I do think that he will try and promote Ivnaka and through her keep a hold on the reins. Depending upon what any subsequent conviction might be I think he could run again and, despite everything, there is still a lot of support for him among people who genuinely believe he was robbed

I think yesterday was a turning point. I think Trump will have shocked many reasonable Republicans and only the hard core remain and given his Twitter followers a lot of who are Bots, the numbers are really not that great I don't think.

I think the name 'Trump' is now toxic and I can't imagine Ivanka will run for President because of that. There will be others but not a Trump I don't think but what do I know...

Also, redrawing typically takes place only after each decennial Census (though there are circumstances in which it can be done outside of this ten year cycle).

Donald Trump should now technically have control of his Twitter. Yet he hasn't tweeted.

After numerous requests, Twitter won't confirm whether he has control of his account.

Will be interesting to see if Twitter now follows Facebook's lead and bans him indefinitely

Inauguration will be awful, I'm surprised anyone can gather with the virus. They should stop people going into dc full stop, they can't have crowds there anyway.

I would have thought that should be the way it's done this year anyway, regardless of what normally happens. We are in the middle of a pandemic after all.

Steve Bannon's is apparently somewhat connected with this group, and has been some of the explanation of why he is involved with the upbringing of populaist movements in many countries.

The crazy thing going through my head today, is that perhaps all this chaos from yesterday is very much what this group hope to achieve, and it is quite scary!

My paranoia is probably the result of staying up until 3Am watching the proceedings in congress... I hope so!

Apologies if I've said this before, but Lindsey Graham reminds me strongly of Andrew in Buffy the Vampires Slayer.

As Buffy says, "He's not evil, but when he gets close to it, he picks up its flavor like a mushroom or something."

I came across a fan page about Andrew, and actually find it quite a good guide to Graham's behaviour – explains Graham's volte faces very well. The TL;DR is Andrew is tragic: so desperate to be liked, he murders his own best friend. But when he's hanging around with good guys, he kinda sorta acts like a good guy, because now he's desperate for them to like him.

Just been reading a political biography of Lenin when he got into power and there are eerie parallels. I've always thought that theres an element of Leninism to this new populist crap. The rest of the Bolsheviks would try to 2nd guess him constantly but Lenin would just go more and more extreme and lower and lower in his morality up to he point they thought syphillis had destroyed his impulse control. Good job il Douche is the opposite of Lenin when it comes to intelligence and Lenin would do anything for Revolution whilst Trump would do anything for himself.
