To think DH likes his sister in law

I've lost sleep over this. But I think my husband likes his brothers wife. We have get togethers with the four of us and it has recently hit me that this might be true. I confronted him when we're drunk and he didn't deny it but just said she has been in his family a long time and he just respects her. But my gut is telling me something else.....

From your examples it seems the issue is less that he likes her, but more that he doesn’t demonstrate that he likes you - why won’t he do fun things just the two of you?

Always trust the gut feelings, very very rarely wrong.

@dotgis

I mean she is pretty but I would t say she's extremely good looking. They didn't date before. She has been with his brother since school
I don’t think anyone on this thread is particularly concerned with how good looking the SIL is, are they....? Confused

Your relationship is over, and the SIL is one of a long line of symptoms of that fact.

You don’t have DC, and you’re financially independent.

This is a no-brainer.

I have to be honest I trusted my husband of 15 years implicitly. Then we became friends with a couple and he was exactly the same always happy and jokey when she was there life and soul, more than happy to organise joint family stuff with them but if I wanted to do the same thing alone he could never be bothered. Again my gut told me something was wrong and I found out they had an emotional affair. Prettiness is irrelevant, She's not that attractive she's quite dim and not particularly successful - maybe he was bored maybe he is just a cunt. I don't know but my point is trust your gut

And again. the reason you are with this lazy-arsed man who puts his SiLs safety above yours and doesnt want to go anywhere with you...is???

BubblyBarbara · 06/01/2021 18:10

Nothing wrong with a little crush

TheOneLeggedJockey · 06/01/2021 18:25

Right, Barb.....

SameToo · 06/01/2021 18:40

Fuck that. I’d get rid of him just for not bothering to get a job. Clearly has no respect for you.
