Do you use a purse?

Just that really, do you use a purse and if not then what do you use for your cards etc instead?

YABU - obviously I use a purse, stupid question
YANBU - purses are sooo 2010 and are cumbersome. Of course I don't.

if Apple Pay goes down when your shopping how do u cope if u have no cards

It's never happened but I presume I would cope in exactly the same way I would if I had simply forgotten my purse? Depending on where, when and why I would simply decide whether to go home and return; ask someone to come to me with funds, or just leave the purchase if it wasn't too important/pita for staff instore (I wouldn't leave a trolley full of shopping but if it was a pair of trousers I might)

I have a pretty big wallet (can fit notes in without folding them) but my sister gave me a lovely Smythson card holder this year and I love it as I barely use cash anyway and it means I can use much smaller handbags.

I don't have a purse. My card is in my phone case and my money goes in the inside pocket of my bag or coat. All my loyalty cards, library card, membership cards etc are on my phone.

I never use my purse any more - I have one but I dont think its left my house for about a year!

All of my loyalty/membership type cards are saved in my stocard app on my phone,I have Google pay on my phone and I'm trying to use less cash so I don't need to take my purse with me.

I do have a small cardholder attached to my work lanyard for my work swipe card (to clock in/out and access restricted areas), staff discount card and my debit card. It is the closest I ever get to carrying a purse since it lives in my bag so I don't forget it and have to stand outside in the dark and cold at 6am waiting for someone to arrive and let me in to the store when I'm not at work.

Haven't kept my bank card in my purse for the last 15 years since two professional women pick pockets lifted my purse from my handbag whilst it was still on my shoulder! One deliberately bumped into me to throw me off balance whilst the other unzipped my bag and lifted my purse. It was on a busy Christmas market in a major city and took seconds. They were middle aged in anoraks and woolly hats, totally blending in with the crowd. They managed to spend £120 in the first hour before I could cancel everything. Fortunately Barclays reimbursed me.

I use one for cash, which I always carry. My cards are in one of those metal tin holders that help against contactless card details being swiped and are easier to get out than if in a purse

I keep my debit & credit cards in the slots in my phone case, and I wear a K Ring and keep that topped up so I still have a form of contactless payment even if I’ve left my phone in the car/at home/in its locker at work.

People don’t have purses? What! I always get a new one for my birthday. I didn’t know some people managed without them!

I do have a purse but I also have a card wallet in my purse that I do sometimes just take out with me.

I use a purse dd brought me a new one for Christmas.
If I didn't have a purse I'd lose my cards I did try keeping my cards in a cardholder but kept losing it so went back to a purse.
I love a big purse has I'm less likely to misplace it

DS’s bank card stopped working for this reason and when bank replaced it they asked if he stored it next to his phone and advised him not to.

I didn’t say it always happens to everyone, just that it can, and the best way to avoid it is not to do it. Also if your phone gets snatched by a mugger when you’re using it in the street, you’ve lost your bank card too.

I do but I call it a wallet.

I can't understand why people put their cards and cash in their phone cover.
It makes it SO much more stealable (it's a new word now) and a nightmare to lose.

don't see why - my phone is usually in my coat pocket (usually with my hands if I'm walking or buttoned/zipped closed if I'm still) and it's a lot harder to steal a heavy phone from a buttoned pocket than to just dip into or snatch a handbag off someone, or from a floor/over a coat if they're eating in a restaurant, for example.

If I kept a wallet/purse and phone in a handbag, then I'd be without both if someone stole my handbag, so what's the difference?

I use a thin card holder rather than a purse or wallet. It just has my ID, 2 credit cards and £50 folded up in it. I keep some change in a tin in the glove box in case I ever need it

I've not used a purse in around two years. I pay on my phone using Apple Pay and haven't handled cash in ages. Since COVID hit I've barely shopped in any stores so haven't wanted or needed to handle cash or even a card. I have store cards either on my car keys or in my Apple wallet app. I've also realised I don't need a handbag full of stuff every time I leave the house - my phone and keys and I'm good to go (obviously adding in sanitiser and a mask these days).

No I just use my zip conpartment ,grey stripy animal print handles hang bag.
(I was lucky to aquiire as,a friend had put a few fashionable handbags outside her flat,free to collect to passers by.
I was thinking of getting a purse.

(When I went to London,stayed over night at a quiky hotel ,to vist British museum,I brought a bum bag underneath my shawl,just in case anybody tried to mug me or something...

I have loads of purses. Currently using a Fosil one I was gifted a few years ago. Will change to a nice flowery Kate Spade (bought in an outlet) for summer. Tbh the fosil one is nearly done so it might be it's last outing. I also have a lovely black and white Kate Spade one I bought 2 years ago when at a big outlet mall I use it when going away etc it hasn't had any outings this year (the discounts in the Kate Spade shop where unreal) Also got a lovely Coach one in the same mall. But my total favourite is one I really should get rid of is a Guess one I bought in the duty free. It has loads of card pockets and a separate purse in a pocket at the back. I keep looking at the Guess purses hoping to get another one but they don't seem to do that design any more. I just don't keep money and cards in one but all those money off receipts and loyalty cards .

Not since corona. Card lives in the back of my phone case now. Have no idea where my purse even is anymore.

No. Have never used a purse in my life. I'm 34 . I keep my bank card and travel card in the small plastic wallet thing I got free at the bank. I put them in my pocket

I dont ever! Really wish I did but I don't! I have an Apple Watch so don't need a card
